This had to be some sick joke. There was no way I was a vampire... hell, it was no way that Ambrose was one. I don't know what the hell he was planning, but this wouldn't get me into his bed. I wasn't into that dark mess, nor was I the type of girl to jump in the bed with boys I didn't know. Whatever this was, I wanted out of it, but I knew most of it wasn't a lie.
I remember Trey hitting me and everything going dark, but to come back as a vampire was absurd. It was hard to believe, even though strange stuff was happening around me. I could hear heartbeats... four of them, and neither was inside of the room. It didn't make it better to feel the need to charge each time one passed the door, but Ambrose made sure to guard it.
I wanted all of this to be false, but like Ambrose said. I was a smart girl and knew something wasn't right with my body. On top of that, I had a strange attraction toward him, and they were sexual. I knew he was feeling them, too, which was why he distanced himself from me. He made sure not to get too close or to let me near the door. However, I was hungry again, or it was the sounds of the heartbeats passing the room, and my stomach felt like it was in knots and on fire.
It was a sensation I'd never felt before, causing me to fall over, gripping my belly while Ambrose stood there and watched. He did nothing as I threw up blood mixed with chunks of something when I realized it was my insides. I was throwing up my organs, and he did nothing but stand there. Why was this happening, and why wasn't he helping me? Didn't he see I needed help? Or something, but the boy looked as if this was normal until a scream released from my lips as the door slightly opened. The light from the hall hit my eyes, and I immediately ran to a dark corner, watching as another man entered the room, looking from me to Ambrose.
The weird thing was I had seen him before.
"So, this is the girl you turned." He spoke, holding out his hand for Ambrose to kiss, but the whole time, his eyes stayed glued on me. It scared me as I watched the two and Brose whisper something before pulling away. "Have you explained to her what is happening? About how you fucked up killing those boys last night all for a bitch you know nothing about, Brose. What the fuck were you thinking? Your actions were like a newly turned vamp. At least tell me you have marked her. No, you couldn't have because I— Damnit boy, you were acting off of stupidness."
"Father—"
It was no way! No damn way, this was his father. The man didn't look old enough, but they were vampires, and they didn't age, which made me push my thoughts to the back of my head and continue to listen. "I'm sorry, I didn't think. My rage took control after he attacked her, and instincts kicked in."
"Well, there is no turning back now— I see that she has fully turned, which means she needs to be fed again. You also need to make her leave the room while it's daylight, or she will become a full nightwalker, but let her know the sun will still harm her. She needs to know that it's safe to move about the home during the day." He spoke to Ambrose as if I wasn't there, and he nodded. I tried to find my voice, but something was holding it back as the man turned, causing me to back up in the corner. In a blink of an eye, he was before me and kneeling while I whimpered.
"There's no need to be afraid Butterfly. She's beautiful, Brose, and you should have tasted her before turning. I know it would have tasted marvelous. Yet it's too late for that now— oh, the manor is ready for you. Make sure to take Keir, Oliver, Lucy, and Thana with you. They can help show her the ropes—"
"We have a problem, Father. Her parents are looking for her. I informed her she could see her Mom one last time before we leave and get her out of her living situation." Before I knew it, his eyes were glowing, and his hand was around Ambrose's neck as he held him up in the air as he struggled against him. Somehow, this made me find my voice as I spoke up.
"STOP! WHY WOULD YOU HURT HIM?! HE HAVEN'T DID SHIT WRONG! PUT HIM DOWN! PUT HIM DOWN NOW!"
"What is this? Did the little lamb find her voice... No! It can't be. Is she connected to you?" He asked, dropping Ambrose to the floor and making his way back over to me. He looked as if he wanted to attack, but instead, he smelled me before sticking my finger with his fang and sucking my blood.
"You fucking idiot! Do you know what you did? You turned her when she was already fucking dead. You brought the dead back alive! You bonded yourself to her! IDIOT! WHAT WAS THE ONE THING I TAUGHT YOU? NEVER TURN THE DEAD! NEVER! I SHOULD FUCKING KILL HER!" He screamed as his nails started to dig into my chest.
"STOP!" Ambrose finally worked up his voice, standing between us. On the other hand, I released a breath while his father shook his head. "Explain to the girl what you have done, idiot, after give her mother a million dollars and ensure she forgets all about her daughter and leaves the fucking States."
"Yes, Master." Ambrose bowed as his father left the room. Slowly, he turned to me and sighed as he sat at the end of the bed. I stayed in my corner until I noticed he was frustrated, which caused me to crawl over and sit beside him.
"I'm sorry—"
"No, I'm sorry. Cepheus is right, but I should have left the dead alone. I messed up." My mouth opened to speak as Ambrose held up his hand. "I could have fucked up seriously. Luckily, I didn't since you are my mate. I'll explain it more once we land in Romania, but first." He stood and quickly pulled back the curtains. I wasted no time trying to run, but he held me in place.
"I'm more of a night person, but you need to learn the light will not harm you but—" He said, moving my hand into the sunlight, and immediately I started to smoke as he pulled it back with a smile. "Direct sunlight will disintegrate you." I was really a vampire. I couldn't believe it. He turned me into a creature of the night. I thought it was all a myth, but I was one.
"I need to see my Mom!"
"We will do that tonight, Cha, before we leave. Now, drink before you break loose and murder every human in the house." I took the glass, turned it up, and licked the rest as I turned back to him. I wanted to know more about Ambrose and if Cepheus was his birth father.
"Is Cepheus your birth Father?"
"Ha! No, my birth father abandoned me a long time ago. He left me in the streets of Romania to die. When Cepheus found me, I was begging for my life as a group of thugs was beating me. I was eighteen and hungry, so when he offered me eternal life and riches, I became his son without hesitation. I had nothing, and he gave me everything. Cepheus is the vamp that turned me. Therefore, he's my master as I am to you... well, you're my mate."
I was confused at first about the mate thing. I was sure only werewolves had mates. That's what the books said. I have read about vampires, and I knew they couldn't create life. No other than turning others. Why did we need mates? What was the purpose?"
"I thought vampires couldn't have children. Why do you need a mate?"
"I didn't ask for a damn mate, and we can't reproduce. So, get any plan of having children out of your head because it would never happen unless the male has one with the living. Female vamps cannot create, but we males can impregnate humans, which I have no plans to do. I also don't plan to marry you or have sex, so get that out of your mind as well. I like being free of attachments and feelings."
I wasn't asking any of that. I only wanted to know more about the creature I had become. Plus, I didn't ask to be turned. He did that on his own because he felt like I needed to live. Angrily, I took the second cup from his hand as he narrowed his eyes. Yes, I was mad because he was catching a whole attitude like I did something wrong when this was all his fault. He could have let me die if he didn't want to put up with me. Now, I was a vampire with a stuck-up mate.
"I didn't ask for this shit, you know! And I don't want to be in a damn relationship with your ghost-looking ass, either. I was doing just fine until you came and sat with me. So, Fucck You Bitch!" I didn't have time for him as I drank the second cup of blood and then threw the cup at his head once I was finished. I was hoping it hit him, but he nicely caught it without looking, and the next thing I knew, he was hovering over me.
"Just as I fucking turned you, I can end you! Do not pull that shit again!" I rolled my eyes as he wrapped his hand around my throat and dug his nails into my chest.
"OKAY, OKAY, AMBROSE—"
"NO! I'M SORRY MASTER! SAY IT!" He had to be crazy. I wasn't about to say that mess and didn't care how red his eyes were glowing. He was no older than me, and the word master wasn't about to come from my mouth, but something forced me to say it.
"I-I'm sorry, Master."
"Don't let that happen again. I need sleep, and so do you—"
"I need to get out of these dirty clothes, and I'm not—"
"Sleep." I wasn't sleepy, but my eyes started to become heavy as they began to close until darkness took over.

I was a jackass, I know. The fuck up was all on me, but that wasn't why I was mad at Chantel. She didn't ask for anything I did. I was the one who turned her and made her my mate, but I didn't want to force her to become my bride. We were bonded, and I knew she felt it because I did. I wanted to fuck her senseless, but then I thought about my other issues. I didn't want to be tied down to anyone and didn't trust others except Cepheus— I had abandonment issues."
Then, it was Cepheus who was upset with me. I always tried to make him proud, and now I couldn't tell if he was mad because of what I did, the fact I had to leave because of my mistake, or if it was something he wasn't telling me. It had something to do with Chantel; I saw how he looked at her. He never welcomed newly turned vampires, and he never allowed us to turn people. He always killed them, but he allowed her to live without questioning me. Just last week, he killed two vamps, that one of my siblings turned, but with Chantel, he insisted we were in danger of getting exposed in the U.S.
I had mixed feelings about the whole thing and was sure they would start speaking about how I was his favorite... although it was true. I was the only one of his children, as he called us, that would listen and do what I was told. It was the reason why I was the heir of the company and not them. Plus, I had only turned one person before Chantal, and it was by accident, and Cepheus didn't allow them to live. He claimed I was too young and wouldn't know how to control another. Obviously, Chantel changed his mind.
"Do you always talk to yourself?"
"I wasn't talking to myself. It's called thinking and you're invading my thoughts. You were supposed to be sleeping. Fuck, there is a lot you need to know about being a vamp. The first thing is we are connected, which means we can hear each other's thoughts. We can also communicate telepathically. You and I share this because I turned you, and if you don't want me to know what you think, you will have to learn to block it."
Cha nodded as she got up from the bed, she started to feel comfortable around me, and I didn't know how to feel about it. However, I smiled for some reason as she returned the action and stood in front of me. "I-I need a shower, but I don't have clothes here." I laughed at how she tried to look away, but she was wrong. I thought about that, and while she was sleeping, I made sure to check her size and bought her new clothing. It was the least I could do.
"The bathroom is over there, and you have some new clothes in the chair by the door. Don't take too long. I know how you women are with your showers. We need to leave, and I would like to shower as well." Chantel arched a brow as she looked at the tags and back at me, holding up the shirt, jeans, and underwear and staring at me like I had lost my mind.
"Don't ask—"
"You perv— You could've asked me my sizes. Never mind, you were trying to be nice. Thank you." She smiled, disappearing into the bathroom. She was happy and her thoughts told me she never had anything nice but the dress she had on two nights ago. However, I waited for almost an hour for her to finish showering until I grew tired. Chantal was taking too long, and I was over it as I quickly walked into the bathroom, finding Cha standing in the middle of the bathroom naked. She was staring at her wound that should have healed by now and the place I bit her.
"WHAT THE HELL AMBROSE?! Don't you know how to knock?"
"I do, but this is my bathroom. Get out! I told you not to take long! And make sure you are ready by the time I get out of the shower. Our time is limited, and you're wasting it." Yet, Chantal stood there glaring at me, not moving a muscle as I nicely walked over, picked her up, and carried her over to the door.
"PUT ME DOWN! HOW DARE YOU TOUCH ME WHEN I'M NAKED!" She yelled, fighting against me as my hand landed on her ass hard. She screamed and sunk her fangs into my shoulder. She was starting to be a headache, causing me to slam her against the wall, when I did something that surprised the both of us.
