This wasn't planned by any means. I didn't plan on starting anything at the party and my main purpose was to get out of the house for a change. I was tired of looking at the same walls and people day in and out, and my father was getting on my last nerve. However, Trey and his want-to-be thugs wanted to start something with the beauty I had my eyes set upon. Some didn't know how to respect other's wishes or feelings. One would think people would have evolved over the hundreds of years I have been alive, but it seemed as if they were getting dumber.
It was sad to watch how they went from dumb to dumber, and I shouldn't have cared, but after watching them fight pointless wars, treating others like shit, and this. I may have looked no older than eighteen, but there was a reason behind it and my story. I'm what people call a creature of the night. A vampire that most think couldn't walk in the day, but that was only folklore for most. Purebreds could withstand the sun, but I wasn't so lucky to be one since I was turned at the age of eighteen, about a hundred and twenty years ago, which made me a hundred and thirty-eight years old now.
I always kept a low profile and never made myself known until tonight. Something in me cracked seeing Trey hit Chantal, and it could have been because she was the first girl I was attracted to in a while, and it said a lot. Normally, I would use females for their blood and throw them to the side. She was different and I wanted to get to know her... enough to fuck her and taste her blood, but Trey had to make that hard.

A hard knock-on Shanice's door woke her from her sleep, causing her to sigh and pull herself out of bed. She grabbed her robe and made her way to the door. She was sure Chantel had forgotten her keys; she did it all the time. So, without thought, she opened the door, finding two police officers and a crying Lacey."
"Mrs. Allen, please tell me Chantel came home! Something terrible happened. Trey... Trey attached Chan and... and I don't know, blood was everywhere. There was this boy there talking to her, and he ripped out Trey and his buddy's throats before jumping out the window with Chantal in his arms. Tell me he brought her home."
Shanice quickly ran to Chantel's room, finding it empty. She returned, staring at the crying teen and then the police officers, trying to make sense of what they were saying. "What type of drugs were you doing at this party?"
"Ma'am, could you tell us if your daughter was in her room?"
"No, but she has other friends besides Lacey. She could be at their house or with her Father. Are you sure that is what you saw, Lace?"
"Ma'am, there were over fifty witnesses that saw the same thing and told the same story. We have four bodies, and one is the man in question, Trey Hill, and the injuries collab with their story. Blood was found where they said your daughter hit her head, but her body was missing. Is there any chance she had something to run from... fake her death that you didn't know about?" Shanice shook her head, knowing Chantel would wake her or tell if she was in any trouble. She was a good girl, nothing like her brothers.
"Did you check the hospitals? Maybe the boy took her there?"
"I assure you that was the first thing we did before coming to inform you. No one by the name of Chantel Allen was admitted to any of the surrounding medical facilities." Lacey let out a sob while Shanice tried to keep things together. There was no way her daughter was gone. Cha had to be with her dad. Therefore, she quickly received her phone calling her ex-husband.
'Shanice, he came to the fucking graduation. What more do you want? And he doesn't want you—"
'Zonnique, please shut the fuck up for once and listen. Please tell me if Chantel is there with you. Tell me she is. She has to be there.'
'Why would Cha be here? Should she be? I don't remember Grant saying he was going to get her. Hold on, let me check.' For the first time, Zonnique wasn't a bitch. Shanice could see she cared for Chantel in a weird way. Maybe it was her and her attitude that came between Grant and Cha, but she didn't have the time to think about it. She needed to know if her daughter was safe. However, she didn't waste time waking Grant telling him that she fucked up and didn't know where their daughter was.
'Shanice, this better not be one of your drunken fits. It's almost morning and Chantel should have been home by now. Let me guess you been out all fucking night and didn't think to check on our daughter before you got in bed. Tell the officers if they are there to search the roads and make sure she and her friends didn't have a wreck. I told that girl to call one of us before getting in the car with a drunk person.'
'It was nothing like that, Grant. Something happened at the party. That boy Trey— I told her to leave him alone. Chantal tried to hide it from me, but I knew he was putting his hands on her, and she would lie, telling me she didn't know where it came from. He was hurting our baby Grant, and I should have told you. Something happened, and no one can explain it, and she's missing Grant. Our girl is missing!"
'WHAT?! HOW CAN YOU NOT FUCKING TELL ME SOMETHING LIKE THAT?! WE'RE COMING OVER NOW, AND YOU BETTER GET READY TO SEARCH FOR HER!"
"I CAN'T GO OUT AFTER SIX!"
"Calm down Mrs. Allen, but you must know the more eyes, the better. We do have men in the woods behind the Richard's home. Most of your daughter's classmates are assisting with the search. We're hoping she tried to run for safety and collapsed. If she did, we will find her. As for what really happened tonight, I cannot say. There has been an uproar of weird crimes such as what happened there, but I want you to know we will do whatever it takes to find your daughter and bring her home and the truth." Shanice didn't want to hear their excuses. She needed her daughter back before all hell broke loose. Her sons were gone, and her only daughter was missing which meant she was in deep shit if they couldn't find her.

I did what I thought was right. It was my fault what happened to Chantel, and I couldn't let her die. She had a full life ahead of her, and I wanted her to live it. It would probably be hard now since she was part of the undead, but it was better than being in the ground. So why was I fighting with myself? It felt like I did something wrong. Why was I mad that I turned her? Maybe it was because I never turned someone before or the fact I turned an already dead person into a vampire, but that couldn't be. No one could turn the dead, which meant Chantel had life left inside of her and could have been saved.
It was too late to think about that now. I had bitten her and gave her my blood. Now, it was a waiting game as I waited for her to open her eyes, which didn't take long as she shot up from the bed, covering her body as if she was naked. She was fully dressed, and I didn't have a reason to remove her clothes and wasn't going to without her permission.
"Calm down, Chantel. You have nothing to fear, but you need to drink." She stared at me, smelling what was in the cup, but she didn't question what it was. She quickly drank the substance without a thought, and her eyes glowed red.
"What was that?"
"Now, you ask, but it was blood," I spoke, watching as she looked at me crazy. I could hear what she was thinking, and at the moment, she was telling herself that I was lying or crazy. Neither was true as I wiped the blood off the corner of her lip and showed it to her. I knew it was going to be hard to explain things to Chantal if she knew nothing about the undead.
"That was wine... it tasted like wine."
'A lot say that, but Chantel, you're a wise girl. Do I look like someone who would lie to you? Look at yourself. You're covered in your blood and your head. Feel your head. It's where Trey caused you to crack it open after he struck you in the face."
Slowly, she touched the exact spot where she hit her head as it started to heal before looking back at me. "I didn't think; I reacted and did what I thought was best. I fucked up everything and killed three teenage boys in front of a crowd of people. After I took your lifeless body, leaped out the window, and brought you back here. Now, we must leave before somebody connects the dots."
She sat there looking from her clothes to me when someone moved outside of my door and caught our attention. In the blink of an eye, I was at the door as Chantel noticed this wasn't a game, nor was I lying to her. How could I? I made her into what I was and had to protect her as I listened to whoever was outside my door. Only to realize it was my roommates with their nosey asses.
"Listen before you talk, Chantel. You were dead, and I made a stupid decision and turned you—"
"Wait, wait, wait! What do you mean by turning me? Turned me into what? How the hell was I dead if I'm here right now? Nothing that you are saying makes sense to me. There are no such things as vampires if that is what you are trying to say I am." She was smart but dumb if she didn't see there were creatures other than humans.
"I know there are a lot of weird people in the world, and some like to believe they are vamps. I went to school with a few of them. They sharpen their teeth to make them that way. All of them were weird and dark— It was the same as you are doing. Stop pretending to be a fucking vampire."
Yeah, this was going to be hard. Chantel was smart, but right now, she was dumb as hell. "Pretending? I have no reason to pretend Chantel. I know what I am and what I turned you into." I spoke as I showed her something no human could do. I glided across the floor with glowing red eyes as she wasted no time backing herself into the far corner of the bed, holding her knees. Now, she was getting it.
"This is fucking crazy! It can't be— vampires cannot be real. They are fictional characters that you read about or watch on television. I can't be a vampire. YOU TURNED ME INTO A VAMPIRE! WHY? WHAT DID I DO TO GET THIS PUNISHMENT?!"
"You see it as a punishment. I see it as giving you a second chance. Or would you rather for me to let you die?" The shake of her head told me what I needed to know. Chantel wanted to live but was conflicted about the vampire thing. "Then why are you upset? I gave you your life back, although it has some drawbacks, you will live forever— well unless you meet an unfortunate demise."
"I have a whole future ahead of me. What about my schooling? Getting my mom out of the hood— Oh my gosh, My Mom! She must be worried sick." I understood her concern, but school was something she would have to forget unless she could do it online. As for her mother... I could help with that, but she had to trust me.
"College is out of the question unless you do it online, but you'll never have to worry about money. I have plenty, and as for your Mom—"
"I will not allow you to turn my Mom!"
"I wasn't going to suggest that. I don't go around turning people, Chantel. The last time I turned someone was in the late eighteen hundreds, and it was by accident. But you... I knew I couldn't let you die. Something about you is special, and I plan to figure it out."
For a long moment, Chantel sat in the corner, quietly scratching her head. Every so often, she had a thought but never expressed it. Until her head quickly turned towards the door. "There are others in the house, and they have heartbeats, but some don't. If this is your house and you didn't turn them. Then who did?"
"Unfortunately, that was my Master's doing. You're a quick study. I like that about you, but the humans you sense are here for our blood supply. Some volunteer for money and others do it for pleasure. It's nothing for you to worry about because we will have to uproot ourselves before someone notices the heir to a multi-million oil company was the boy who jumped out the window with you in my arms. Also, how I ripped out three teen boys' throats with my teeth, I will allow you to see your Mother one last time and help her out of the hood. This is undebatable. I have already arranged for us to leave for Romania."
Her eyes widened as she stared at me like I had lost it. I think I had, but it was the only way I could protect the girl before me, and for some reason, I felt I would put my life down if it meant to save hers. "Romania?! I know nothing about that place. We can't go there, nor do I want to!"
"It's not what you want. It's what is best for us, Chantel. You know too many people here, and it's not safe. They will know something is different about you, especially if you pop back up one night out of the blue. Everyone has already assumed the worst and believes that you are dead. Think about how your family will feel. It's best to make up a story or tell the truth, but you need to make your Mom understand that you have to leave for her safety and your own."
