With the sword statue's body crumbling as it falls from the sky.
The group below watches in awe as Kairo's attack begins dissolving. As Kairo begins to slowly descend, still critically wounded from his training.
However, as he falls, the voice he originally heard has vanished without a trace. The statue crashes along the ground, creating craters and dust as Kairo shortly follows after.
Falling to his knees and onto his stomach as his exhausted and damaged body collapses.
"Soto... Ita... I-Interesting." Kairo states as he struggles to push himself off his stomach.
As he plops onto his back, Chirashi is seen standing above him with a smirk.
"Look at you go! To think you'd be able to grasp your ability so well within two training sessions!" Chirashi expressed herself as she patted against Kairo's stomach with intense strength.
"To create such a ferocious slash of soul energy and still be conscious is also incredible." Chirashi states as she also glares over at Kairo's wrist.
The bracelet she had given him was still being worn, and that caused a more potent reaction out of her. Before she stands up and looks back at Marin and Ingrid.
"How about we call it for the day? I'm sure you guys would want to spend the rest of your weekend doing something fun." Chirashi grinned as she began walking off.
Leaving Kairo still injured and exhausted. Marin and Ingrid looked back and forth, wondering what to do.
Two hours later
Marin, Kairo, and Ingrid are found walking together. Kairo kept his sword concealed on his back in case of emergencies.
"Miss Chirashi is truly something else." Marin expresses with an awkward smile as they continue walking.
"That woman is brutal when it comes to training. Not to mention that carefree nature of hers. I mean, seriously, healing my wounds would've been the least she could do." Kairo sighs.
Ingrid calmly poked Kairo's side, causing Kairo to shiver from his head to his toes in pain.
"W-What the hell was that for?!" Kairo shouted, causing other bystanders to look at them.
"I wanted to see if it still hurt." Ingrid remarked slyly.
"Of course it does! Did you not hear what I just said?!" Kairo retorts as he hovers in Ingrid's face with his fingers wiggling in front of him.
"Now, now, you two, let's just try and enjoy—." Marin suddenly gets interrupted as she bumps into something.
As she steps back to recover her senses, Ingrid and Kairo also stop in place.
"Hm?" A familiar man questions as he turns around with flowers in his hands.
"Are you alright, Marin?" Kairo asks.
"Y-Yes, just bumped my nose." Marin informed.
Waving Kairo down, she turned to see the man she had bumped into was none other than Principal Kentaro.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Principal Kentaro. I wasn't paying attention to where—."
"That's quite alright, Ms. Hana; just make sure you watch out for anyone else. Wouldn't want you to bump into the wrong person after all." Kentaro happily notified him before quickly turning his attention to Kairo.
"How are your Kendo lessons going, Kairo? I assume you plan to keep that training sword of yours at home from now on?" Kentaro asks, his eyes focused on the concealed sword.
"I hadn't planned on it, sir." Kairo replied, his also locked onto Kentaro's.
Silence filled the air as the two stood off. The wind breezed through as Marin and Ingrid also looked at each other in confusion.
"I see. Well, please be mindful of the other students and make sure you leave your training sword in our school's kendo room. Before you head to go to class tomorrow." Kentaro injected with a smile before turning to pay the flower booth owner.
"Well, I'll see you three tomorrow bright and early." Kentaro walked away with a smile on his face and a bouquet of flowers in his hand.
The group still stood in place, observing each other in confusion. Watching as Kentaro vanishes out of their sight down the sidewalk.
"Mr. Kentaro seemed really happy." Marin shared as she began thinking it through.
"First, there were flowers, then his abnormal responses. His phone did also beep a few times..." Marin thinking hard as she continues putting pieces together.
"Mr. Kentaro has a date!" Marin concludes as she slams her right hand into her left palm in excitement.
The flower booth owner chuckled at her remark, causing the group to look over at her.
"Those are truly some ideas you've put together, but I'm afraid you're quite far off." The flower booth owner remarked as he pulled up a calendar.
"You see, Kentaro always comes to my shop to purchase a bouquet of flowers for his daughter's grave. Today marks the twenty-sixth year she's been gone." The booth owner informs us as he leans back in his chair.
"His daughter's passing? Wait... Kentaro had children?!" Kairo exclaimed in shock as he tried to process the information.
"Only his daughter Noelle; he told me after her death he couldn't stomach potentially losing another child." The booth owner informs.
"How did she pass?" Ingrid asked curiously.
"It's really not my place to give out such sensitive information. If you really want to know, why don't you ask him yourself?" The booth owner questions as he stands up.
"I'm sure he'd love to talk to someone about it; he loves telling me things when he purchases flowers every once in a while. I don't see it being hard for such an open man." They remark as they leave to enter their shop. Leaving the group in wonder.
"Well... That's been an interesting story. But I think we should—."
Kairo is grabbed by the shirt as he turns to try and walk away. Marin keeping him from walking away.
"We're going. I'm sure Mr. Kentaro would want to talk to someone, especially today of all days." Marin exclaims while still holding onto Kairo.
"I mean, if I were him, I'd just want to mourn in silence." Ingrid remarks with a calm expression.
"I don't think I could ever see you mourning; you're way too blunt and expressionless for that." Kairo retorts as he continues trying to break free of Marin's grip.
However, instantly Ingrid pokes Kairo's body in his side again, and it completely shivers from pain once more.
"Y-You bastard!!" Kairo exclaimed wildly as he tried to reach for Ingrid.
