Adrian could currently only access techniques up to the Foundation Establishment realm.
Since he and Jayson were already cultivating the techniques of the Thorne family, they couldn't switch, or they would have to restart from scratch.
Adrian considered it but ultimately dismissed this thought. There was no significant improvement in any of the techniques he could find.
What he was mainly interested in was the body cultivation technique he found in one of his memories.
This cultivation technique was called 'The Diamond Sovereign Physique'. The power in the name alone drew him to it.
Body cultivation was relatively unpopular in the world because of its difficulty. The number of rare treasures and resources needed was astronomical.
However, the benefits were well worth it. An average body cultivator was much stronger than an average Qi cultivator. For good reason too. It was the equivalent of combining the raw power of magical beasts with the intelligence of human cultivators.
The reason he chose the Diamond Sovereign Physique was that the cultivation method differed slightly from conventional body cultivation techniques.
A normal body cultivation technique focuses on tempering the body slowly over a long period of time, while the great diamond body does the opposite.
It uses a tremendous amount of force and energy to temper the body all at once. Enough energy is accumulated and released into the body simultaneously.
The massive amount of energy is then used to break down the body and reconstruct it in a stronger form. This technique was undoubtedly unorthodox. Not to mention very dangerous.
If a cultivator couldn't handle the massive amount of energy being forced through his system, his body would start breaking down, causing severe backlash and injury.
In the worst case, death wasn't impossible. However, despite the difficulties in cultivating this technique, one couldn't deny that it was undoubtedly top tier spirit rank cultivation technique.
Body cultivation techniques of this level were rare and could only be found with the major families and big sects. And they definitely wouldn't allow just anyone to access them.
However, there was a glaring disadvantage of this technique. The Diamond Sovereign Physique needed a lot of resources, much more than that of an ordinary body cultivation technique.
Adrian rubbed his temples in exhaustion as he began wondering how to acquire resources to cultivate this technique. After finding an inn and renting a small courtyard, Adrian decided to explore the town while the kids stayed in the inn to relax.
Adrian stepped out and made his way towards a store that sold herbs. His brain had already began formulating a plan.
Among the inheritance from the Sage of Slaughter was also the method of alchemy.
Since he would need pills for his cultivation, he decided to also try his hand at alchemy. It was worth exploring it if it would make his subsequent endeavors easier.
The store had three floors and was rather large for such a city.
As he approached, he saw two guards standing at the entrance. From their auras, He could tell that they were at the peak of the foundation establishment realm.
They merely glanced at him before losing interest. They saw all walks of life during their shifts, so seeing someone in a hood didn't surprise them at all.
As he walked in, Adrian started looking around. The herbs required for a Bronze grade pill were fairly common and weren't hard to find.
He went up to one of the counters and purchased a bunch of bronze rank medicinal herbs. The clerk was a bit surprised at the items he was purchasing.
Typically, only alchemists bought such herbs, so she paid a bit more attention to him. However, after seeing him only purchase Bronze grade herbs, she quickly lost interest.
An alchemist of that rank didn't garner that much attention from her. While the city was a small one, they still had their fair share of professionals.
After making his purchases, he left the store and started moving towards a different region in the town. He seemed to be roaming around aimlessly, but, in reality, he was deep in thought.
He now needed to get a pill furnace; however, in such a small town, it would be hard to find one without having a few connections.
Just as he was lost in thought, a commotion broke out as a carriage was speeding across the road.
The coachman just kept riding as if there were no consequences.
When it was approaching Adrian, it didn't slow down at all and just kept going.
It would have run him over if he hadn't gotten out of the way in time.
The driver just glanced at him and said in a mocking tone
"What a fool, he dares to stand in the way of alchemist Melvin's carriage."
He then continued on his way without stopping.
Under his hood, there was a sly smile on Adrian's face.
"Alchemist Melvin, huh. It seems I've found my furnace".
Within the carriage, alchemist Melvin was deep in thought. His clasped hands were resting on his protruding belly while there was a slight smile on his face.
"It seems the Golden Wheel Chamber of Commerce got lucky recently. Where did they even find a Gold rank Silvereye grass to put up for auction?"
"No matter what, I have to get it. With it, I can finally break through and become a Gold rank alchemist. Then even the city lord would have to treat me courteously."
As he was smiling at his thoughts, he didn't know that someone somewhere was already plotting his downfall.
Adrian went to a popular restaurant in the town known as 'Golden Wheel restaurant'.
It was owned by the Golden Wheel Chamber of Commerce. After selecting a secluded seat on the first floor by the window, Adrian ordered a few dishes as he decided to listen in for any relevant information.
After a while, his dishes were served. As he started eating, a piece of information piqued his interest. He continued acting normally, but he was secretly paying attention to the conversation a few tables away.
