Chapter 4: Navine!
Lee and Klaus finally made it to the shores of Navine.
Klaus:
Welcome to Navine.
Lee:
Thanks, I guess.
Klaus:
Let's head to the main building. My sister can take a look at that arm for you.
Lee:
I would very much like that.
After walking for a few minutes, the two finally reached the main building. It was like a fortress, with walls seven feet tall surrounding the entire structure. Each side of the wall had a lookout post with machine guns and grenades. The main entrance, located on the north side of the fortress, had the largest and strongest gate.
Klaus:
Open up.
Man 1:
What's the password?
Klaus:
I don't remember… look, it's Klaus, and I'm not in the mood, so open up the gate.
A man peeks through a little hole and signals the other guy to open the gates.
Man 1:
Sorry about that, boss.
Klaus:
It's okay. You're just doing your job.
Man 2:
Who's this?
Klaus:
His name is Lee, and he's a friend.
Man 2:
Nice to meet you, Lee… my name is Nickel.
Man 1:
And I'm Shaw.
Lee:
Well, nice to meet you too, both of you.
Klaus:
We can talk later. I'm taking him to see my sister.
Nickel:
Last time I saw her, she was in the medical facility.
Klaus:
Thanks.
Lee and Klaus decided to go to the medical facility.
Lee:
This place looks beautiful.
Klaus:
I know. My dad and I found this place a long time ago. It was a lot better then.
Klaus lowered his head while talking about his dad, and Lee became concerned.
Lee:
So what happened to your dad?
Klaus:
He died.
Lee:
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Klaus:
It's cool.
Klaus walked ahead, motioning for Lee to follow.
Klaus:
We're here. My sister must be in that room. Just wait at the door until I tell you to come in.
Klaus entered the office in the medical room only to see that his sister was sleeping. He poked her cheeks and said,
Klaus:
Wake up, sleepyhead.
She slowly got up, stretching her arms. She looked at the door and saw Lee.
Alice:
What happened to him?
Klaus:
I don't know. He never told me.
Lee:
Because you never asked.
Klaus:
Anyways, Lee, this is my sister, Alice.
Lee:
It's nice to meet you, Alice.
Alice:
It's nice to meet you too, Lee.
Klaus:
Sister, I was wondering if you could fix his arm, like make a fake one for him.
Alice:
Like a robotic one?
Klaus:
Yes.
Alice:
Sure, but we would need materials for me to make it.
Lee:
What kind of materials?
Alice:
Metal.
Klaus:
We rode in an old boat to come here. Do you think that can do?
Alice:
Yes, it can.
Lee:
So how long would it take for you to make it?
Alice:
It will take time… Brother, why don't you take Lee to the cafeteria to get something to eat?
Klaus:
Brilliant idea.
Lee:
Food sounds great at this moment.
Alice:
Okay, close the door when you leave.
Klaus and Lee headed toward the cafeteria to get something to eat. As they walked, Lee started to think about Clementine, wondering if she was doing fine and if she was safe. He let out a sigh of unhappiness.
Klaus:
Are you okay?
Lee:
I haven't been okay in a long time.
Klaus:
We're here. Just order whatever you want.
Lee:
Okay.
Lee walked up to the counter and asked the cook for some food. The cook looked at Lee and asked him if he wanted fried rice and chicken.
Lee:
Yes, please.
Klaus:
Lee, you can get the room beside my room.
Lee:
Thanks.
Klaus:
No problem. I'm going to bring the materials for you to my sister.
Lee:
Klaus… thanks for everything.
