THE WALKING DEAD ALTERNATIVE.

Chapter 5: FAR FROM HOME!
A few months have passed, and Clementine, Omid, and Christa decide to head north after hearing a rumor about a place called Wellington—said to be safe and walker-free.
While traveling, Christa and Omid begin discussing baby names. Omid wants to name the baby after himself, but Christa quickly shuts him down. Omid then turns to Clementine for her opinion.
Clementine:
What if the baby is a girl?
Omid:
If it's a girl, we'll call her Christa.
Christa:
We're not naming the baby Omid or Christa.
Clementine giggles as the two continue playfully arguing. A few moments later, Omid spots a nearby restaurant.
Omid:
I'll check it out. Clementine, be careful.
Clementine heads to the bathroom to clean up first. She cautiously checks each stall for walkers before setting her gun on the sink. She pulls a bottle of water from her bag and wets a cloth to wipe her face.
Just then, the water bottle slips from her hand. She bends to pick it up—when suddenly, someone enters the bathroom.
Realizing her gun is out of reach, Clementine peeks out… and sees a stranger standing right in front of her.
Young Girl:
Come out with your hands up.
Clementine:
I don't want any trouble.
Young Girl:
Give me everything you have.
Clementine:
That's all I have—and that's my gun.
Young Girl:
Well… it's mine now.
The girl begins searching Clementine's bag. Omid, hearing the commotion, quietly enters the bathroom and tries to sneak up on the girl. But as the door shuts behind him with a loud creak, the girl turns and shoots—hitting Omid instantly.
Christa, hearing the gunshot, runs toward the bathroom. She bursts through the door to find Omid lying motionless. Without hesitation, she shoots the young girl.
Christa:
What happened?!
Clementine, shaken, explains everything. From that day on, Christa begins to blame Clementine for Omid's death.
Weeks go by. The tension grows heavier.
Clementine:
So… is this how it's going to be? Won't you talk to me?
Christa:
Talk to you about what? About how you got my boyfriend killed?
Clementine:
I know it's my fault.
Christa:
Let's just find somewhere to camp for the night.
Clementine:
…Sure.
MEANWHILE, BACK AT NAVINE
Klaus:
Lee, come check it out!
Lee:
Check out what?
Klaus:
Your new arm. Alice said we should head to the medical facility so she can attach it.
A few minutes later, Lee enters Alice's office.
Alice:
So… what do you think? Looks pretty cool, right?
Lee:
How did you even make this?
Alice:
My dad taught me. He was an engineer—and a genius.
Lee:
Thank you, Alice.
Alice:
You're welcome.
Klaus:
So how do we put it on?
Alice laughs and tells Lee to lie down on the couch.
Lee:
Is it going to hurt?
Alice:
Probably. I need to push these iron rods into your shoulder to connect it to the robotic arm.
But luckily, we have anesthetic.
Klaus:
Ananagesick?
Alice:
It's anesthetic, moron.
Lee:
Can I ask you two a question?
Alice & Klaus:
Sure.
Lee:
How come you guys have all these supplies—and this big fortress?
Alice:
My brother and father found this land. My dad bought it and built this house for us.
Klaus:
It was our vacation home.
Lee:
You guys must've been really rich.
Alice begins inserting one of the rods into Lee's shoulder. He screams in pain and bites down on his shirt.
Klaus:
Hold on, it's almost done.
Our parents were rich—or used to be.
Money doesn't mean much anymore.
Alice:
Our mom was a scientist. A very famous one.
Lee:
I see… how many rods are there?
Alice:
Four.
She inserts the second rod. Lee cries out again.
Klaus:
Lee, how did you lose your arm?
Lee:
I trust you two… but I'm still afraid to say it.
Alice inserts the third rod. One more to go.
Alice:
You can trust us.
Lee:
…I got bit.
Klaus:
By a walker?!
Lee:
Yeah.
Klaus:
Then how are you still alive?
Lee:
I don't know.
Alice:
You might be immune.
Alice inserts the final rod and wraps the arm with bandages. Lee sits up and tries moving his new arm.
Alice:
It might take a while to adjust.
Klaus walks toward the door.
Klaus:
Thanks for telling us what happened… but let's keep this between us.
If word gets out, people will come looking for you.
Lee nods and lies back down.
