Then, we landed on an embankment near a mound. "Is everyone okay? We don't have much time before they are on top of us. This is not a random attack. Does anyone know why we are being targeted?" I asked as I checked myself for injury and looked around. Then, I unhooked my seatbelt.
"I am fine, but damn! We have not had a rogue attack in years. No fucking clue!!" said Walker as he checked himself and then his brother for any injuries as they both unhooked their seatbelts.
"Don't worry, we will protect you! No idea, but we will figure it out." stated Alpha Kevin, looking extremely pissed at having to deal with rogues.
"Fuck! I hate rogues! I smell a lot of them, and they are working together. This isn't good!!" revealed Ross as he checked himself for injury and unhooked his seatbelt.
"Brent and Dean, are you good?" shouted Walker in a panic up front to the two guys who didn't seem to be moving at all.
"I am fine! The most important thing is that you are okay." responded Alpha Kevin as he checked me repeatedly for signs of any injury. I knew our wolves were communicating happily with each other while being in full alert mode.
"Bro, Dean is not looking too good over here. He is losing too much blood, and I am afraid to move him." stated Walker in a worried tone. "Brent seems to be waking up now, but slowly. However, we definitely won't be driving out of here." reported Walker as he leaned upfront to access the damage.
"I am woke. What happened?" asked Brent, looking around at our wrecked car that sat at the bottom of this hill along with all the blood gushing out of his best friend.
Knowing we didn't have much time. I put up a force field to protect us. "Everyone, I need you to trust me. Take your seats and don't move. Pretend like we are all knocked out. Don't move."
"Do it!" ordered Alpha Kevin as he winked at me and I back at him. Everyone sat back and closed their eyes. No one moved as we heard them approach from both sides.
"Remember we need her alive. He wants her unharmed and safely delivered to him. Our job is to kill the Mutt and his brother. No witnesses and nothing to trace it back to us or him. Do you understand me?" ordered one of the rogues.
"Yes, Sir!"
"Yes!"
" Yes!"
"Perfectly!"
Fuck! I am the target. Someone is after me. Fuck! Dean will die if I don't get him medical attention asap and my sister is too far out to get here in time. You can do this, Miriam. You have trained for this moment just using smaller objects, but you can do it. It's the same concept.
Without warning, several rogues charged the sedan but were thrown away. Five more attempted but were pushed away, unable to break through the force field.
"What the fuck? Please tell me you are doing this brother." probed a shocked-looking Walker. "It's not me. I wish!" reported Alpha Kevin, looking at me in total disbelief.
"I...I...I...thought you didn't have any power." said Ross, looking at me like I had five heads.
"I don't really, but if we want our boy Dean to live, to play another ice hockey game. We need to make some moves fast to even the playing field. Or we are going to be up shit's creek without a paddle." I informed them.
"My warriors are about another fifteen to twenty minutes out." conveyed Alpha Kevin, looking at me intensely.
"Well, that simply won't do. Me being taken anywhere against my will is out of the DAMN question and I didn't SIGN UP to die today. I intend to die happy surrounded by all my great, great, great grandpups after living a wonderful and fulfilling life. I definitely can't let my new family die so soon. So everyone put your seatbelts back on, and I am going to try something. I think in theory it might work, and I might be able to actually pull it off. I am not sure. I have never exactly tried it on this large of a scale, but I am game. I just need to focus and be calm. Everyone be calm and no one try to exit out of the vehicle or open any windows at this time." I instructed them calmly, not trying to reveal how scared I really was for my and their safety.
"What are you going to do?" asked Walker in an excited voice.
"Miriam. I am not going to like this, am I?" probed Alpha Kevin, looking at me nervously.
"She is a witch! I am going to die. Our new Luna is a fucking witch!" proclaimed Brent almost hysterically.
"Why me? Moon Goddess!! I promise I will worship you every day! I will be a better person." voiced Ross, looking overwhelmed.
"She is not a witch, idiot! She is better! She is a Moor and I told you it wouldn't hurt to read more history books than biology books. I am so glad right now, I fucking did!" professed Walker excitedly like a kid on Christmas morning.
As they argued back and forth about whether the Moors were indeed witches and warlocks and the rogues beat on my forcefield, I focused on moving our battered car closer to our border to intercept my sister and our warriors that were on the way to rescue me.
Instantaneously, we were airborne, hoovering over the rogues as they jumped in the air to get to us.
"What the fuck?"
"We are flying!"
"Why me?"
"I have the best sister-in-law, ever. Who needs to ever pay money to go to the amusement park with Short Stacks around?"
In a flash, we were moving closer to my sister as I meditated, focusing only on my breath and my heartbeat, which was connected to my only living sibling. I could feel the car flying through the air and becoming closer to my sister, Tamar. I could feel her fear and rage running through her body.
