"What is it?" I asked.
"Nothing! It has to be a mistake! We will research it further and come back to this with clearer heads. Let's all go back to our packs and get cleaned up. We can meet later to talk. Alpha Kevin and Beta Walker, I will grant free access to my pack for now. We have been strong and respectful allies. I have no doubt that we will continue to be so in the future." conveyed Alpha River.
"You are not going to tell me. You are afraid of how I will react." I countered.
"Let it go for now, please." responded Alpha River.
"She will, right!" stated my mate, Beta Landon, walking over and hugging and kissing me. I hate it when he speaks for me and uses our matebond against me.
"Fine! Fine! For now! Let's change and freshen up. Besides, Alpha Kevin! You and I still need to talk, but let's talk tomorrow. Let's get some rest. It has been an extremely long day." I conveyed to everyone.
Meanwhile, I gave my sister a look to let her know that shit was far from settled, and I wanted that damn cellphone. She looked at me, letting me know that she was ready for the fuckery if I ordered it. I just shook my head and raised up one hand to let her know I would let the bullshit play out a little while longer. I need to know who all the players are in this little game of cat and mouse.
Meanwhile, Alpha River, Alpha Kevin, Walker and my mate were watching me and my sister closely to see if we would really let it go. I will for now. Besides, I know Alpha River won't hesitate to try to sedate me to control over this situation. So, I need to figure out a way around that shit.
"Yes! It has been a really long day. Holding our talk off till tomorrow works for me, well. It gives me a chance to rest and check on my pack members. I give you my word that I will never do anything that your sister doesn't want me to do. I will not consider mating or marking till after we have had a chance to speak regarding her. However, I am going to respectfully request that she stay with me until we have an idea of whom the spy or traitor is in your pack." declared Alpha Kevin firmly to me.
"I can see how, you might think that is a good idea. Tell me something, Alpha Kevin. How would Elise Lane, daughter of Elder Corbin Lane, feel about my little sister staying in your pack or in your packhouse?" I demanded walking up to him and standing beside him and my sister. His brother looked nervously at us.
"She would be happy to know that I have finally found my fate mate. I am fond of Elise Lane. We are very good friends." conveyed Alpha Kevin, calmly smiling at me.
"So there is no truth to the rumor that you and her are engaged to be married?" I questioned him, looking him directly in the eyes. Because, when it comes to my sister, I want all the smoke.
"None! We are just good friends." Alpha Kevin replied, looking me in the eyes and smiling at me. His heart rate never jumped, so he was either a damn good liar or telling the truth. If he is lying to me, I will be his worst fucking nightmare.
"My sister can go with you for now, but if I find out that you have lied to me. That is your ass! I will make sure you never see her again. I don't like liars. Are we clear?" I growled, getting in his face and refusing to back down. He is lucky because my father would have done worst to him.
"Loud and clear." he said rather too calmly for it to sit well with me. I gave my sister a look, and she shared it with me. He was a little too Mr. Smooth for his own dawn good.
"Good! Follow me and Miriam back to our house. By the way, this little arrangement is only till I find and kill the spy and traitor in our pack. Then, my sister will be attached to my hip until her 18th birthday party. So don't get too comfortable or get any crazy ideas. My sister is a virgin, and she had better stay one, or I will kill you. At least, till I can figure out if you are indeed her fate mate." I conveyed to his smooth-talking ass. He was a little too smooth for my taste. I think because he is half-damn vampire.
Nevertheless, if I am not careful, I will have a pregnant, unwed underage sister on my hands. Mr. Smooth is going to make it his life's mission to get in her underwear. Vampires fucking love virgins.
"Yes! I understand perfectly! I am not the enemy here. I want us to be good friends. I always wanted a sister. I am just trying to look out for my mate in a difficult situation. I really wanted all of us to get to know each other. I want all of us to become one big happy family." voiced Mr. Too Smooth Operator smiling at me.
"Well! Damn! Beta Tamar, you are the shit! I am I allowed to start a fan club for my sisters -in-laws? I am serious. I mean, Bro! She just threaten to cut your balls off, and you let it go. Damn! You sure there are no more siblings or cousins in the Montgomery bloodline?" asked Walker, laughing. I knew I liked him when I met him.
"No more, Bro! And I like you, too! So don't make me have to hurt you kid over my sister." I told him firmly.
"Damn! I swear I don't want no smoke. I promise to protect her with my life." Walker responded, looking at his brother and shaking his head. I could tell they were mindlinkiing and arguing about something. I could also tell that Walker was losing the argument.
"However, we do have some pretty badass girlfriends." I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
"No! He is already dating my friend, Kandi remember." shouted my little sister, looking annoyed with me.
"Yes! How can I forget? My bad!" I said, laughing at her.
"Sounds good to me. We have always been cool. But my mate has a serious temper and doesn't play about Miriam. Miriam and Tamar are extremely close. So we will be spending alot of time together in the future." declared my mate, Landon to Mr. Too Damn Smooth.
"I expect nothing less from the last two remaining Montgomery's." countered Mr. Too Damn Smooth.
"I need to go take care of something. Beta Landon, please don't release any prisoners yet. Make sure the three rogues, Beta Tamar, made a deal with go safely into our dungeon. We wouldn't want to make Beta Tamar a liar. They can have the other three. " ordered Alpha River nervously.
"Yes, Alpha River!" replied to my mate as Alpha River shifted and took off, running like a bat out of hell. I need my damn phone to call Maya. I need her excellent hacking skills to help me figure out who I need to kill.
