The next morning, I woke up and realized that I had slept late talking to Ayu. I had overslept and had to go to school. As I was waking up, wiping my eyes, and checking the time, I noticed that the phone call was still going. I was shocked and quickly grabbed it.
I checked if the call was still going on, and the minutes kept ticking by. I couldn't believe it; I had fallen asleep with my phone on. I wondered if Ayu was upset that I had left her alone talking. I felt a pang of guilt for leaving her in that situation. I knew I was a human being who wanted to sleep, but leaving Ayu on the phone was not appropriate.
Suddenly, I heard something on the phone. It sounded like someone was opening the door, and then footsteps approached. In my mind, I thought it was someone from Ayu's family. Then, I heard a girl's voice that sounded exactly like Ayu's. I became quiet, trying to listen carefully. Suddenly, the voice spoke again and sounded like she was stretching.
"Hello Daisuke, are you awake?" Ayu asked me.
"Ayu, good morning! I just woke up and am getting ready for school hehe" I was nervously talking to her because I left her talking alone last night. However, I continued talking.
"I regret letting you leave by phone, Ayu. I am remorseful for my impulsive decision." I confessed to her as I apologized.
"It is alright, Ayu. Besides, it was getting late, and I should have been more considerate. It was my fault for the inconvenience." She continued our conversation.
"I left the call unanswered because I wanted to hear your voice, but you were still asleep. I went to take a shower, but I ended up getting out prematurely." She smiled, holding her towel as she covered herself.
"AYU OUT OF THE SHOWER WHAT THE HECK"I affirm this internally.
"I-I gotta go cya school bye!!." I hung up the phone, feeling a mix of anxiety and relief. I had imagined Ayu getting out of the shower with her towel, but I was uncertain if she had done so. I felt embarrassed by my thoughts. However, I glanced at the clock and realized I was on time. I had to get ready for school.
As I made my way to school, I encountered no difficulties. The first thing I did was take a shower, brush my teeth, dry my hair, put on my clothes, and style my hair as usual. I then had breakfast, which my young sister had prepared for me. It was baked bread with bacon and eggs, which she had made exceptionally well. I did not intend to offend my aunt, who is also a skilled cook, but my sister's dish was truly remarkable. We all take turns cooking for our family, but unfortunately, my aunt had to go to work early today. Consequently, my sister had volunteered to cook for Aunt Yumi. After we had finished eating, we proceeded to walk to school. However, we parted ways as Ren is a freshman year high school, I was delighted about this prospect, and I occasionally communicate with my sister. In addition, we occasionally engaged in social activities reminiscent of those typically undertaken by young individuals, such as spending time together as friends.
Despite our interactions gradually diminishing due to her commitment to volleyball practice, we occasionally socialize at the mall to purchase clothing. Aunt Yumi occasionally provides Ren with funds to buy clothes, during which we spend time at the mall or engage in outings to restaurants. When she requires assistance with her homework, I provide support whenever possible.
I occasionally miss spending time with my younger sister. Perhaps I will inquire with her about the possibility of resuming our interactions in the meantime.
Upon arriving at class, I observed Fuuto conversing with Ayu and her friends, as well as two new individuals whom I had not previously encountered, one was a female and the other was male, Ayu may have acquired new friends, as I do not believe Fuuto dislikes having a large circle of acquaintances. However, he prefers intimate friendships rather than large groups. The reason for this preference remains unclear to me. Fuuto enjoys spending time with me, but I recall an incident from our middle school years when he confided in me. He expressed a desire for someone who already knew him and did not require him to introduce himself. While this sentiment may seem unconventional and unfair, it is understandable given his reserved nature. For instance, on one occasion, we visited the beach, and Fuuto had a small black circle on his left bottom. Initially, I mistook it for a fly, but upon closer inspection, I realized it was a congenital mark.
Fuuto's enigmatic personality often leaves me intrigued. Additionally, it is unfair for individuals to attempt to engage with him, as he exudes a serious demeanor that may deter others from approaching him. Despite his attractive appearance, he has consistently declined romantic entanglements. This decision is regrettable, as he possesses many desirable qualities. As long as he remains my best friend and we maintain a cordial relationship, which we do, I am content with the situation. However, when Ayu turned around and smiled at me, she approached me and waved at me.
"Daisuke," she said with a laugh as she approached and waved at me with a smile.
As she approached, she enveloped me in a warm embrace. I felt my cheeks flush as she held me as if I were a pillow or a teddy bear.
"Hello Daisuke," she inquired, "why did you abruptly end our conversation? I was planning to invite you and Fuuto to walk together." She studied my face intently before making a slightly inflated expression, indicating her disappointment. She gradually turned my face and mine to the left, causing me to feel nervous.
"Well, Ayu…" I began, still looking to the left nervously.
"Hmm?" Ayu responded, still making the inflating expression.
"I…I was feeling shy and anxious when you mentioned your shower routine and the imaginary scenarios you had."
Ayu paused, considering my words. Eventually, she recognized the subject matter and blushed. She quickly covered herself and looked at me with a charming blush.
"You pervert..." she said as she was blushing still with a cute face.
"Ayu, you asked me, I didn't intend to deceive you," I replied, feeling a mix of shyness and embarrassment. Despite my discomfort, I couldn't help but notice her adorable blush.
As we spoke, a male student who was with Ayu approached us.
"So, this is Daisuke, huh? Nice to meet you," he said, extending his hand with a confident demeanor.
"Oh, hello…" I replied, still unfamiliar with him.
"Oh, I apologize, Daisuke. This is Kenji Narijio, Kenji this is my boyfriend, Daisuke Ito, and Kenji is my friend from class 2-A," Ayu introduced me to his classmate. She explained that she had transferred to 2-B from 2-A and had heard positive things about me from Ayu.
"Ayu told me how wonderful you are and other qualities you have that made her fall in love with you, Daisuke," he said with a smile.
"What did I miss? Hmm, who is this?" a female approached us, and I still didn't recognize her.
"Ah, Ryota," Ayu introduced me once more and resumed her conversation.
"Daisuke, they are related. They are siblings. They are twins."
"Ah, Okie is nice to meet you both," I said, feeling a bit nervous about meeting new people.
Subsequently, Ayu informed me that the twins would be joining her team as counselors, with Ryota assuming the role of student council treasurer and Kenji taking on the position of student council secretary. I was impressed by Ayu's determination to complete the task and her efforts to enlist the assistance of her friends for the twins' benefit.
"The only remaining requirement is the student vice president council. Our current task, if we have the time, is to identify students who are interested in pursuing this position and forming a group." Ayu elaborated further.
"You are all aware of the qualities we seek in a candidate: intelligence, effective communication, responsibility, and respect," Ayu emphasized in a serious tone. However, I was fully committed to assisting Ayu at this juncture. Everyone else expressed their willingness to contribute to this mission, even Fuuto, who also expressed his desire to assist.
Ayu concluded by informing us that we had only one day left, as the principal would announce the students who would be challenged to become the council president tomorrow. Kenji had overheard rumors suggesting that two students were vying for the position of council president: a female eleventh-grade student and a male tenth-grade student who was exceptionally intelligent in his class. Kenji was unaware of their characteristics. However, based on the rumors, that was all he had to say.
"Team, let us give it our all and strive to save this school. No student deserves for this school to close, and some students do not deserve that fate because they are eager to learn and contribute to the future." Ayu urged everyone to take the risk and pursue the position. As she wished everyone luck and the best, Ayu prepared to embark on this challenging endeavor. As the class commenced, we all took our seats, eager to begin the day. However, Ayu gently grabbed my arm and informed me.
"Daisuke, thank you for your assistance. I am undertaking this task for the school and would be distressed to be separated from you," she said, holding my arm and resting her head on mine while
Tilting her head to look at me with a somber expression, I noticed Ayu's apprehension. I had to reassure her that she was doing well. As I held her hand, moved it down, and gave her a warm embrace, I reassured her.
"You're doing a good job, Ayu," I said while still hugging her, placing her head on my chest and tilting my head against hers. At that moment, Ayu felt safe and secure, as if she were in a nurturing environment. This made her feel special, akin to the feeling of having a full battery charge.
"Thank you, Daisuke. I like you a lot," she replied, feeling better and eager to look at Daisuke while smiling at me.
As the lunch hour approached, Fuuto and I decided to go out searching for students. It didn't matter if they were male or female; as long as Ayu wanted the person she desired, the task would be challenging. However, we had no time to discuss it; we simply had to start searching. Fuuto was walking while looking for students and even eating his sandwich simultaneously. I, on the other hand, felt a bit stressed and wanted to find the right person.
"C'mon Daisuke, we could have started searching after school. Some students stay after school for school activities, such as club," Fuuto suggested as he continued our conversation.
"Even Ayu wanted to do that after school,"
"I know, I know. I just couldn't eat right away because I was so eager to do this… find the right person," I explained, feeling stressed and determined to find the person because we only had two days left before the announcement for the election, as the principal wanted to inform us. As I looked around, Fuuto and I began observing students both male and female, but we were careful not to appear creepy, as we noticed a diverse group of students. We decided to go to the cafeteria and spent the entire lunch hour there, but we had no luck finding anyone. As the bell rang, Fuuto and I
returned to class, as it was about to commence.
Upon arriving at class, I discovered that it was already halfway through English class. As the lesson progressed, my attention was diverted to identifying an ideal candidate for the position. However, the teacher's observation of my lack of focus prompted him to intervene.
"Mr. Ito, would you kindly read the next line where I pause if you could be the kind person?" he inquired in a calm voice, addressing me directly.
"O-oh yes, sir," I responded nervously, unaware of where he had stopped reading.
"Please stand up as you read the class, Mr. Ito," he instructed.
"R-right…" As I rose from my seat, a wave of anxiety washed over me. I had no recollection of where the teacher had paused while reading. I feared that if I failed to read, the class would laugh at me, and the previous teacher would be displeased. Consequently, I gathered the courage to confess the truth to the teacher.
"I apologize, sir, but I did not pay attention. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused," I admitted.
"Next time, Mr. Ito, please pay attention and sit down," the English teacher replied, his expression slightly upset. Fortunately, the class did not react with laughter, which was a positive outcome. As I returned to my seat, I made a conscious effort to focus on the lesson.
On the other hand, Ayu observed my behavior and felt as though she was exerting excessive pressure on me. Her mind was convinced that she was pushing me too hard. Regardless of her feelings, I remained resolute in my determination. I fervently hoped that we would find the person soon, as the afternoon wore on the group formed to search for The ideal candidate for the position of Vice President of the Council is someone who possesses the necessary skills, experience, and qualifications to effectively lead and manage the organization's operations. Kenji, Ryota, Fuuto, and I convened to ascertain the details of Ayu's upcoming presentation and its implications.
While the other girls had commitments to attend to, they had promised to assist Ayu the following day if
The search for a vice president of the council yielded no results. As Ayu was about to depart with the group, a student approached her.
"Hello Ayu, I understand you are seeking a candidate for the vice president position," the student inquired.
"Yes, I am. Why are you asking?" Ayu inquired to assess the student's suitability for the role.
"Well, you see, my popularity among the student body is high, and I believe that would make me a good candidate for the position. Would you consider me as your vice president?" the student asked, attempting to impress Ayu.
"Indeed, that would be a great honor. However, I must consider all candidates before making a decision. I will keep you on my list. What is your name?" Ayu replied.
"Haru Aikawa," the student said, attempting to further impress her by pulling his hair up and adopting a more attractive demeanor.
"Hmm, I have added you to my list. I will inform you if you are selected. However, I have a feeling that fate has other plans." Ayu wrote Haru's name on the list.
"Thank you. I will not let you down, especially not you, Ayu Chau," the student said as he walked away with his friends, attempting to project an image of sophistication. Ayu turned around and continued with the group, erasing Haru's name from the list.
"You are not on the list," Ayu stated firmly as she walked away. In her opinion, Ayu did not find anything in Haru that she was seeking. His unpleasant attitude, coupled with his belief that his good looks and popularity would make him a successful candidate, was not in line with her criteria. Ayu was taking this matter seriously because she was determined to prevent the school from closing due to its poor reputation. She did not want to lose something she was already content with, including her friends and the school itself.
"Alright, everyone, here is the plan. We will divide it into two teams. Kenji will lead the first team, and Fuuto will join him," Ayu announced, her voice filled with confidence.
"Nice," Kenji replied with a thumbs up and a wink at Ayu.
"I suppose that is us, Ayu? Me, you, and Ryota?" I asked her with a smile.
"Daisuke, this time it will only be me and Ryota," Ayu replied, her expression becoming concerned. I was surprised when she responded.
"I apologize for pushing you hard this time…like in English class, you couldn't focus in class, and I am sorry for that, Daisuke, but this time I want you to take a break just for today, okay?" said Ayu as she looked at me and placed her softly hand on my cheek, feeling guilty for pushing me too much.
"You can go home if you want, Daisuke. You did a good job the rest of us were going to stay here for an hour if you want you can go home," says Ayu.
"It's okay, Ayu don't feel bad, but okay I'll take a break just for today and also I'll wait for you in the library when you are ready to go home and take you safely to your house on the way. It's bad being alone late," I say as I hold Ayu softly hand she has. Every time I feel Ayu's hands, it's just like when someone makes me feel special but at the same time feel calm myself. As I told Ayu, she smiled and knew that I was not mad or anything negative energy.
"Alrighty Daisuke, thanks for taking care of me for safety hehe I'll see you in our library then," she kissed my cheek and gave me a big hug, knowing that I was fine about it, which honestly I was. I guess I was taking it too much into looking for the right person for the position of vice president of the council.
"I'll join you guys too in the walk on the way home haha," says Fuuto being silly.
"Okay let's go, buddy," said Kenji as he was pushing in a silly way moving Fuuto to the door, but Fuuto was making a funny-sad face as Kenji was moving him.
As the class dispersed, Ayu and Ryota exited the classroom. Before Ayu closed the door, she waved at me with a smile. I reciprocated her gesture. As I gathered my belongings to head to the library, I noticed Ayu still in the classroom.
Upon reaching the library, I slowly opened the door to ascertain its status. To my surprise, the library was open. I entered and observed a girl sitting down and observing me as soon as I opened the door.
"Hello," she politely inquired. "Is there anything you were looking for?"
"No, I am just here to stay briefly as I am waiting for someone," I replied.
"Oh, I see. Well, I would like to inform you that the library closes at 4 pm," she said, providing me with a heads up. I expressed my gratitude for her assistance. Although she appears to be a pleasant and responsible individual, I have not had the opportunity to become acquainted with her well enough to form a comprehensive understanding of her character. Perhaps I should initiate a conversation with her to gain a deeper insight into her personality.
In an attempt to discreetly inquire about her thoughts on the matter, I discreetly removed my phone from my pocket and asked Ayu what she thought about the girl in the library. However, my attention was diverted by the discovery that the library also housed manga and light novels, which I found intriguing.
I had hoped that the library would have the light novel I was currently reading, "The Isekai One." I believe I was in volume five, although my memory is not particularly sharp. I stood up, returned my phone to my pocket, and began searching for the light novel I had purchased at home.
Unfortunately, my intense search for the novel had a captivating effect on me. Eventually, I found the volume of the light novel I was reading. I promptly grabbed the novel and headed to my seat, eagerly anticipating the continuation of the captivating story. The protagonist's journey of growth and determination, coupled with his quest to reunite
With his family and finding a way back to the real world, the plot was engaging. Consequently, I proceeded to take a seat to read my light novel. However, as I was on my way to take a seat, a student approached me. He was dressed in a uniform, exuding a sense of sophistication and respect. He appeared responsible, communicative, and intelligent. Overall, he had a pleasant demeanor and appearance.
The student was engrossed in a book, but I could not discern the title. As I drew closer to my seat, I sat down in front of him on the left side. While reading my light novel, I began to contemplate what to say to him and how to initiate a conversation. As I tapped the table and read simultaneously, I realized that the content of the conversation was less important than the act of engaging in the conversation itself. Therefore, I decided to proceed.
"Reading books is remarkable," I remarked, initiating the conversation. "It provides a sense of escapism, allowing you to immerse yourself in imaginative worlds and stories."
"Indeed, it is," he responded with a calm demeanor, attempting to smile. He continued the conversation.
"I apologize, but I don't know who you are," I inquired.
"Daisuke…Daisuke Ito," I replied, introducing myself. "I am from class 2-B, and you are?"
"Arata…Arata Yoshida," he answered, providing his name. He maintained a composed demeanor and engaged in conversation with me.
