Chapter 5 - ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE POSITION OF PRESIDENT COUNCIL

The weekend had concluded, and the sun emerged as it rose, signaling the resumption of life. I was preparing for school by clipping in my uniform. As I examined my reflection in the mirror, I adjusted my front hair to achieve my desired hairstyle. During this movement, I briefly contemplated my apprehension about speaking to Ayu. However, I resolved to maintain a composed demeanor and address my concerns directly.

As I descended the stairs, I was greeted by the enticing aroma of eggs emanating from the kitchen. It was Aunt Yumi, who was cooking breakfast for me and Ren. Ren was seated at the table, eagerly awaiting his meal.

"Good morning, kiddo! How did you sleep?" Aunt Yumi inquired while still cooking.

"Looks like someone is still in bed," Ren responded with a playful remark, typical of siblings.

"Shut up Ren," I exclaimed, as Ren's behavior was becoming irritating.

"Shh, be quiet! Don't start Ren it's too early " Aunt Yumi replied, sternly.

"Aren't you going to eat, kiddo?" asked Aunt Yumi.

"I'll just get bread with jam, Aunt Yumi," I said, attempting to pacify her.

"Mmm, that's acceptable. At least it's something," Aunt Yumi grumbled.

"Please take care of yourself, Daisuke," she added, giving me a stern look.

"See you in school, big brother," Ren smiled and waved goodbye.

"Alright, see you," I replied.

I opened the door and proceeded to my school. The outside was breathtaking, with a vibrant blue sky adorned with a graceful bird flying away. As I caught sight of the sun, its radiant beauty captivated me. I turned to the side and continued my journey to school.

The walk to school was relatively short, approximately thirty minutes. As I approached the school building, I made my way to my class, determined to confront Ayu and reveal the truth. However, just as I was about to reach my class, my colleague and partner from work blocked my path.

"Hey, wait!" he exclaimed, grabbing my arms.

"Have you completed your homework for math class?"

He was visibly distressed, clutching my arms and crying for help.

"I couldn't finish it," he confessed.

Despite his persistent annoyance, I was also on my way to meet Ayu to discuss the truth. As I glanced at my watch, I realized I only had one minute to speak with her.

"Sorry, I have to go now. I don't have time," I said, politely moving him and briskly walking to class.

"C'mon Daisuke! I thought we were friends. Don't leave me here alone," he replied, still crying for help.

I hurried to my class, but I quickly opened the door and scanned the room. There she was, sitting in her seat with her friends. She slowly turned around to face me, her expression stern. I smiled warmly, relieved to see her. As I stepped onto the floor, the class immediately moved to her seat.

The bell rang, but it was too late for me to speak with her. I was stressed, but at least Ayu had given me a pearly smile and a wave. I blushed as she waved at me, and then she turned around, facing me directly. At least that was a positive sign that I was feeling happy about the day.

I took my seat and prepared for the class to begin. While the class progressed, I discreetly tapped my foot, reminiscing about my hurried lunch rush and the clock. I needed to calm down; everything would be fine, just like Fuuto had assured me. I took a deep breath, letting go of my frustration and the desire to speak with Ayu about the truth.

Suddenly, a voice emanating from the microphone announced that the student president council was about to commence.

"Good morning students, I apologize for interrupting the class. I am announcing that we will be forming a student president council. If you are interested in serving as a member, please come to my office to express your interest."

Ayu's eyes widened in surprise at the announcement. She looked visibly interested from the distance I was observing her.

"I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the interruption. I wish you all a productive and enjoyable day."Principal Jun concluded his remarks by turning off his microphone.

As the hours passed, it was finally lunchtime break, allowing me to have a private conversation with Ayu. However, before this could happen, Fuuto inquired if I had already spoken to Ayu this morning.

"Not yet," I replied, scratching my head, which reminded me of the events that transpired this morning.

"Not yet? Alright, I will remain quiet so that you can talk to her," Fuuto said, turning around to know that he would not interrupt us. As I stood up, I made my way towards Ayu. While looking down, I was suddenly surprised when Ayu walked swiftly towards me. As she got closer, I raised my head and blushed as our faces came close to each other.

"Hah,"

"Daisuke, we need to talk. Let's go outside to the benches," Ayu suggested, smiling and her cheeks flushed pink. She took my hand and led me outside to the benches. As we walked, Ayu appeared to be in a normal mood. She did not seem upset or distressed, and she appeared to be happy. However, as soon as she wanted to discuss something with me, I would tell her the truth.

The lunch break continued as time passed. We both sat down, and Ayu was holding my arm. She covered her mouth slightly to the side, her lips slightly parted.

"Daisuke…"

"Y-yeah, Ayu," I replied, shaking slightly and blushing. I was looking at her for attention, but I was still not accustomed to holding hands. I knew that I had to get used to it as part of our newfound closeness.

"I apologize for my behavior that night and the following morning. I should have acted differently unless it was necessary," Ayu said honestly. She looked down, feeling remorseful about what had transpired those days.

"It's alright, don't worry about it. However, the reason I behaved that way that night…"

"Wait, let me tell you something, Daisuke. There's a reason why I acted that way," Ayu interrupted. I became silent and focused on Ayu, listening attentively to what she had to say.

"You see, I recognize that I should refrain from drawing comparisons between others but–"

"However, I find it deeply distressing when individuals engage in deception, and I had an immediate sense that you were being dishonest based solely on your facial expression."

She is not mistaken. Not only is she highly intelligent, but she possesses the remarkable ability to discern the emotions conveyed by others' facial expressions. Despite her intelligence, she exudes an undeniable charm that captivates me. Her presence alone fills me with a profound sense of gratitude for having her as my girlfriend.

"Daisuke?"

"Huh?" I responded to her.

"Were you even paying attention to me when I was speaking?" she inquired, gently poking my cheeks while making a pouting expression.

"I was, Ayu," I replied. "I comprehended every word you said. However, I was simultaneously contemplating the immense luck I feel in having you as my genuine partner. Your intelligence, cuteness, and overall demeanor make you my perfect complement, even surpassing my own in terms of cognitive abilities. I yearn to remain with you until the end of my life."

Ayu's cheeks flushed a deep red, and her glasses tilted slightly to the side.

"I am deeply concerned about losing you, Daisuke. Every moment spent in your presence brings me a sense of tranquility and contentment. I am filled with an overwhelming desire to be with you."

I could continue, but Ayu's blushing had reached an intensity that was becoming overwhelming for her. She instinctively covered my mouth.

"O-okay, that is sufficient," she stammered, still blushing profusely.

"Nevertheless, I wish to discuss the announcement we received early in school."

"Oh, the president counselor position, yes. I am aware of it. What is the significance of this announcement?"

"Well, you see, I aspire to become the next president counselor, and I was wondering if you would be interested in serving as my vice president. What are your thoughts, Daisuke?" Ayu inquired, her eyes fixed on me with a smile. However, I hesitated to alter her smile, knowing that I lacked the necessary qualifications for this role.

"I am sorry, Ayu," I said sincerely. "I do not wish to disappoint you,

But I am not well-suited for this position. I am not confident in my abilities."Ayu's expression fell, and she looked down in sadness, having not anticipated my response. Determined to lift her spirits, I offered her the following words.

"Let me put it this way, I can support and help you win the presidential counselor position and try to find someone who can have that position as a vice president side"

"Oh my gosh that would be great I asked my friends and they told me the same thing if they wanted to but they don't have time for that to be vice president, but what about Fuuto ?? Would he like to be the vice president?" As Ayu was happy up and down excitement.

"I don't think fuuto would like to be the vice president because he has things to do also such as wants to become the best chef, Ayu" I reply to her bad news.

"Oh… gosh, this is gonna be difficult. I really do want to become the president counselor, so bad, gaah," she nipped, not too far, just as she was thinking.

"Don't worry Ayu I will help you to find someone to become vice president, leave that to me I won't let you down" I told her as I had a fate that I wouldn't let her down not even a second.

"Thank you, Daisuke you are so special to me and I appreciate that," says Ayu as she hugs me tight how much she loves me. As I hug her I think is not a good time to tell her the truth, I don't want her to think too much about it, this was so special to Ayu that I don't wanna fail her. I would tell her after the election is over now that she won't think too much. Alright, I'll do my best not to fail her. The bell rang to go back to classes so we could be ready for the next assignment, but as we walked to Ayu of happiness as always,

An individual was following us, but we were unaware of our presence as were also on our way to class. It was afternoon, and Fuuto and I went out to eat. We also informed Aunt Yumi that we would be out for a brief time with Fuuto. We dined at a fast-food restaurant specializing in kaki burgers.

"Unfortunately, Ayu cannot join us today," Fuuto expressed with a somber expression.

"Yes, she had to remain after school to meet with the principal to inform him of her aspirations to become the president counselor," I replied while eating my burger.

"That is intriguing. Why does she desire to become the president counselor?" Fuuto inquired, holding a straw in his mouth while sipping soda. I genuinely lacked understanding of her motivation for that position.

"I find it intriguing that she aspires to become the president counselor once more," Fuuto remarked, playing with his straw.

"Again?" I asked, curious about his repeated reference.

"Yes, I have heard that during Ayu's middle school years, she served as a president counselor. Notably, she had a team in which he held the position of vice president, and both of them were successful teams. Furthermore, rumors are suggesting that they were in a romantic relationship during their time as president counselors." Fuuto tilted his head, placing his left hand on his cheek while smiling at me. I felt a slight sense of unease as he shared this information with me.

"However, I do not believe they were in a romantic relationship. Some individuals do speculate about their relationship, but I do not share that belief. Given the nature of the position, she does not have the time for such a relationship."

"But you do not know that, Fuuto. You were not present during that middle school year, and you have no source of information about Ayu's personal life," I retorted, expressing my disappointment at what Fuuto had revealed.

"Ah, Daisuke, you know me well. I am an avid listener of gossip," Fuuto chuckled, acknowledging my reaction.

"Besides dude why u have to worry she's with you, dude," said fuuto as he was trying not to overthink.

"It would have been acceptable if you had not mentioned the relationship aspect." Looking aside, I felt a slight sense of disappointment. However, Futuo changed his lighthearted demeanor and recognized that I disapproved of his comments about Ayu's past relationships, as they were based on rumors.

"I apologize for sharing this information with you, as I believed you might be more interested in learning about your girlfriend's past rather than the relationship aspect," he said, looking down with a composed expression.

"It is alright, do not be concerned. You are correct in your assessment; I should not have behaved in that manner. After all, look at us now; she is my girlfriend," I reassured him, and we both shared a laugh.

"Indeed, you have a puppy-like expression, Daisuke when I mentioned Ayu," Futuo remarked, wiping away a tear.

"Well, she is my girlfriend, and you know what to expect from me," I replied.

"I am aware of that. You do not have to physically appear at my place," Fuuto said, smiling and crossing his arms. There was no need for me to be concerned; after all, Ayu was my girlfriend, and she loved me. However, I wondered if that individual had previously dated Ayu, as the rumors suggested was true. Nevertheless, it was inconsequential; what mattered was the present.

As Ayu was on her way to the office, she felt a mixture of nerves and confidence. As she approached the door to enter the principal's office, she heard a voice that she recognized, albeit one that she could not stand. Suddenly, she turned to her right and found herself face-to-face with the same person who had been stalking her and Daisuke.

"Louis!" Ayu exclaimed, shocked to see him.

"I am not surprised that you want to anticipate this meeting," Louis replied a hint of malice in his voice.

"Indeed, it is reminiscent of our past, when I was your best friend and the vice president during our middle school years," Louis said, a wicked smile on his face.

"And most of all, your future husband," Louis was getting closer to Ayu as if he were about to kiss Ayu's lips.

However, Ayu knew Louis's intentions towards her and moved him out of her way.

"Louis, please refrain from speaking to me," Ayu said, pointing at him.

"As if you, my beloved Ayu, would ever allow me to speak to you," Louis retorted, feigning a smile.

"Why can't you simply leave me alone, Louis? You used to be such a kind and respectful person, but suddenly, you have become a rude and unpleasant individual," Ayu expressed her frustration.

"Very well, I will leave you alone," Louis said.

"Remember that everyone believes we are a suitable couple, even your father thinks I am the perfect match for you. I am as responsible as my father , as he is the head of his successful company. Each of our family generations has grown and become wealthier."

"I do not care about your wealth or the opinions of others, Louis. Whether we are considered a good couple or not is not important to me. You are a despicable person," Ayu said, glaring at him.

"Was it necessary for me to win your heart, Ayu? Please tell me," Louis held Ayu's hand and looked into her eyes as if trying to convey his sincerity. Ayu blushed, but she soon realized two things: she was in a relationship with Daisuke and was enjoying his company immensely, and she knew Louis's deceptive nature.

"Release my hand," Ayu said, looking down at her hair and covering her eyes.

"Pardon?" Louis asked, appearing confused but not genuinely so.

"Release my hand, you vile person, and never speak to me or see me again!" Ayu turned around and walked directly to the principal's office to register for the presidential counselor position. Ayu knocked on the door, and she heard the principal respond as she was knocking. In the end, she entered the principal's office. As for Louis, he was left on his way out with a malevolent smile, Louis uttered,

"Oh Ayu, just wait… the game is merely commencing. In due course, you will come to regret your actions." His intelligence is evident in his meticulously crafted plan, which promises to be successful.

It was nighttime, and I was engrossed in an intriguing novel about an isekai. The protagonist had died and found himself in a new world called Dongeus. He yearned to return to his world because he was starting to build a family. To find his way back, he embarked on an adventure. The novel was captivating, and I was thoroughly enjoying it.

As I delved into the pages, I heard a knock at the door.

"Big bro, can I come in?" It was Ren.

"Come in," I replied, placing a small piece of paper inside the book where I had left off to avoid forgetting where I was.

"Can you help me with this question? I was going to ask Aunt Yumi, but she's working the night shift today," Ren said.

"Sure, what's up, Ren?" I asked.

Ren handed me her notebook, explaining that she needed help with her math homework.

"So, how's it going with your girlfriend, Daisuke?" I asked.

"It's going great, honestly. I never imagined I'd end up with her being my girlfriend. I'm so lucky to have her," I expressed my feelings about Ayu, the girl I had a crush on.

"I'm glad you're happy with her because that's what it's all about—being happy with the person you want to be with for the rest of your life," Ren said.

"Rest of my life?" I asked, blushing.

"Yeah, well, if you two end up together in the future, but don't worry, have a good time with her and do what's best for her, okay, big bro?" Ren said, giving me a thumbs up.

"Yeah, heh," I smiled, feeling my cheeks flush.

Just then, my phone rang. I glanced at the caller ID and I was surprised that it was Ayu, Upon answering the phone, I greeted her, "Hello Ayu, how are you?" I genuinely enjoyed our conversations whenever we spoke, whether it was in person or over the phone. Her presence and voice always filled me with a sense of joy and contentment. However, upon hearing my greeting, she sounded slightly apprehensive or fearful, but I could not discern which emotion she was experiencing more strongly.

"Hello Daisuke, am I interrupting you?" I inquired, uncertain whether she was apprehensive or anxious. I wondered if an incident occurred after school when she visited the principal's office to discuss the president's counselor. Had she been accepted? Despite her academic prowess, her aspirations for the presidency and counselor positions were equally important. Success in these roles requires courage, strategic thinking, and the determination to excel in one's chosen field. Regardless, I responded to her inquiry.

"No, not at all. Are you alright?" I asked, concerned about her demeanor. Her tone and mannerisms suggested that something was amiss.

"No, not at all. I'm fine. I just wanted to hear your voice," she clarified. While her words seemed genuine, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the situation. Despite my desire to press further, I decided to let it pass for now.

As I turned to Ren, signaling that she could leave, I noticed her preparing to depart. She retrieved her pencils and notebook, pushed my chair back into my desk, and stepped out of my room. As she closed the door, I sat down on my bed, which was positioned next to the door. I reached for the lock to secure it while listening to Ayu.

"So, Ayu, how was it? Did you speak with the principal about your desire to become the presidential counselor?" I asked, eager to learn about her experience.

"Yes, I am very interested. I spoke with the principal, and he informed me that I had been accepted. Not only that, but he also recognized my presidential counselor from my middle school years, acknowledging my hard work and dedication. He expressed his enthusiasm for my participation in the election, as two other students also expressed interest in the position. I am overjoyed to have been selected." Upon hearing her statement, I realized that I hold the belief that Ayu must exert significant effort to overcome her competitors. While I am undoubtedly optimistic about her chances of success, I have never had the opportunity to inquire with Ayu regarding her motivations for seeking the position of president counselor.

"Ayu, I have never had the opportunity to ask you this, but why are you interested in becoming the next president counselor?" I calmly inquired of her.

"Well, you see when I entered the hallway, I overheard two teachers discussing their intention to close the school due to its increasingly negative atmosphere," she explained with a somber expression.

"Wait?" I was astounded when she shared this information with me.

"Yes, I initially believed the teachers were jesting, but upon visiting the principal's office this afternoon to inquire about the rumors of the school's potential closure, he confirmed their veracity. This is why I aspire to become the next presidential counselor, as I am determined to preserve the school. It is unjust for some students to pursue their dreams while others may harbor affection for the school. Therefore, I am committed to safeguarding the institution and implementing positive changes." Initially, Ayu's expression reflected her unwavering passion for preserving the school. She genuinely desired to transform it for the better. Honestly, I have observed some concerning aspects of the school, such as students skipping classes, neglecting homework, and graffiti adorning the exterior walls. Additionally, I have heard reports of frequent altercations within the school. For the past four years, the school has been plagued by these issues.

"Furthermore, Daisuke…" she sounded downcast to Ayu as if she was about to say something else with a hint of sadness in her expression.

"I am deeply concerned about losing my friends, Fuuto, and especially you. I am not referring to you moving to another school if the school closes down people I care about." Ayu's words struck me with a profound emotional impact, akin to the feeling of helplessness that arises when witnessing someone in distress. As her boyfriend, I naturally want to assist her. Ayu is an exceptionally caring, kind, and lovely person, and I would never let her down.

"Ayu, I understand your concerns, but I want to clarify why I am not worried about the school closing down."As I stated, I acted as I intended to assist her, and I am currently by her side.

"I am committed to assisting you in securing this position, as I believe you possess the necessary qualities to excel in it," I confidently informed her. This assurance provided her with a clear path to victory.

Ayu's dedication extends beyond her aspirations. She genuinely cares about the well-being of all students and teachers within the school community. She supports students who aspire to succeed and achieve their career goals, as well as teachers who seek to enhance their careers and provide their students with the best possible opportunities for future success.

"Thank you, Daisuke, for being my steadfast supporter and recognizing my potential," Ayu expressed her gratitude while holding the phone. She continued our conversation.

"However, I must inform you that I already have a team for the presidential counselor position. Nevertheless, I am seeking a capable vice president who possesses strong communication skills, intelligence, and a deep understanding of the role. If I am elected to the position, we will face significant challenges that require our collective efforts." Ayu explained these details to me, her determination evident in her words.

"Of course, I will do everything in my power to assist you in finding a suitable vice president," I reassured her. I was equally eager to support her in her pursuit of this goal.

"Thank you, Daisuke. You are an integral part of my life, and I am grateful to have you as my boyfriend," Ayu blushed and smiled as she expressed her affection. In return, I felt a surge of emotion and blushed myself. Being with her brought a sense of fulfillment and joy, and I cherished the opportunity to support and love her.

"There is no need to worry," I reassured her. "I wish I could be present to offer you a heartfelt embrace right now."

"Tomorrow, you can give me one when you see me in school. Feel free to shower me with hugs whenever you wish," Ayu smiled warmly, expressing her unwavering care for me. Despite our continued conversation, we both proceeded to cover ourselves in bed. Engaging in a phone conversation

While asleep, one experiences an extraordinary and aesthetically pleasing sensation. It brings a sense of contentment as if one is physically present in the company of the individual.

"Daisuke," Ayu softly utters my name in a low voice.

"Yes?" I respond.

"I am genuinely pleased to have met you, and I am equally delighted that you have become an integral part of my life. Every moment spent with you is filled with cherished memories. Not only that, but your presence in my life has significantly improved my well-being. Your kindness and benevolence are truly remarkable," Ayu continues the conversation.

"I will never forget the day we met at the convenience store, where your captivating smile met mine directly. I hold you in high regard, Daisuke. I trust that our shared bath will be enjoyable. I still yearn for you to smile on the day we first met," Ayu concludes the conversation with a smile, feigning an address towards me.

"She is so adorable," I express my admiration. I wish I could be present to embrace her. I am fortunate to have her as my girlfriend.

Upon reflection, this may seem unrelated, but I am truly blessed to have such a beautiful girlfriend like Ayu. Her kindness and nature are truly exceptional. Some relationships experience disagreements or challenges that feel unnatural. Some couples even end up breaking up, while others find a way to reconcile and return to each other. Honestly, I am apprehensive about experiencing a breakup, but it is also beneficial because it encourages personal growth and self-improvement. As time passes and experiences accumulate, individuals learn valuable lessons about relationships and how to enhance them. Occasionally, my aunt engages in discussions about life and its intricacies, which can be somewhat unsettling. However, these conversations serve a purpose, as they prepare me for the challenges that lie ahead. They remind me to focus on the present and address the matters at hand.

"I also find you to be quite appealing, Ayu. You are the individual I have been eagerly anticipating meeting on my journey. You are the most beautiful person I have ever encountered in my life."

As I was speaking, I began to feel drowsy, and my eyes felt as if they were yearning to close. I noticed that my girlfriend, Ayu was talking as I was feeling sleepy because it was getting late, and I felt a bit tired myself.

"Daisuke?" Ayu asked, concerned about my well-being. I had sounded my voice low and gradually stopped talking.

"Hehe, I think you're already asleep, sleepyhead," Ayu giggled.

"Good night, Daisuke. I'll sleep next to you and let the call go on," Ayu said, kissing her phone as if she were kissing Daisuke. She then prepared for bed and turned to her phone, pretending that Daisuke was next to her.
