Chapter 43 - Base Stats Points

Aiden came down from the cave ceiling, falling to his knees on the ground. Aurora immediately walked over, helping Aiden to his feet.

"Thank goodness you're alright, Aiden," Aurora said, her face beaming with relief as her hands helped Aiden up.

"Thank you, Aurora," Aiden said, Aurora smiling and nodding.

The young man sat down on the rock as he tried to catch his breath. He looked forward and was shocked to see Master Sylas trapped in the ice boulder that held him, leaving only his head free.

"M-Master Sylas?" asked Aiden, shocked.

"What happened?" asked Aiden.

"You ask your favorite Ice Dragon. She froze me before I finished recovering your body," Sylas replied.

"Tsk!"

Aurora swung her hand back, causing the ice stone shackling Master Sylas' body to shatter into pieces.

Sylas was freed, but it took time for his body temperature to adjust from the impact.

"Are you alright?" asked Aiden, Sylas nodded as he raised his hand.

"My magic is fine, but my body is in pain. How cruel of her to treat an old man like me that way," Sylas complained, looking at Aurora.

"Blame yourself for not helping my master recover," Aurora retorted.

"I tried to do that earlier before you froze me in—"

"Stop it, you don't need to fight," Aiden replied, standing up and separating the two who had higher magical abilities than him.

Even so, Aurora and Master Sylas seemed to glare back at each other sarcastically. Master Sylas sighed softly, then nodded in favor of what Aiden wanted.

"Fine, I won't prolong the matter,'" Sylas said.

"But look at you! It hasn't even been a month since I trained you, and you've already reached the Peak Adept mage tier," Sylas replied, pointing at Aiden.

"I don't know, I don't really understand either," Aiden said.

"With your current abilities, the academy is no longer a suitable place for you," Sylas explained.

"So?"

Aiden and Aurora looked at Sylas intently. From Sylas' magic pouch, he brought out a tome of level 2 and 3 magic spells according to Aiden's dominant element.

Because his leveling up was so fast and not balanced by proper skills, Aiden had to train extra hard.

At least, with his current Peak Adept level, he could use level 3 fire magic spells with ease.

"There are many things that can be done with a Peak Adept mage level. However, for now, practice fire magic from the spellbook I gave you," Sylas replied.

"You've already learned magic manipulation techniques, it should be easy for you to learn those two tomes," Sylas said.

Aiden accepted the two magic spellbooks, then nodded in reply. He explained aloud that he would learn the magic in the books well, but he had to do something first.

"What is it?" asked Sylas.

"It's about Base Point," Aiden explained, Sylas nodded and laughed.

"You're right, we almost forgot about it."

[Base Stats]

[STR: 1]

[AGI: 1]

[INT: 30]

[DEX: 1]

[VIT: 1]

[LUK: 1]

[Base Point: 1020pts]

From the magic panel that appeared, he saw that his base point count had increased to 1020pts. Sylas couldn't see the panel, but he could tell because Aiden told him.

"Hmm... what kind of mage do you want to be in the future?" asked Sylas.

"What do you mean?" asked Aiden.

"The six statuses in the menu represent the attributes to be upgraded," Sylas explained.

He explained that the STR attribute played a full role in physical attack power, such as sword fighting and hand-to-hand combat. STR is very important for a Knight.

AGI can help increase attack speed and magic spells, there is no job limit for the AGI attribute, Knight and Mage can increase it.

The INT attribute is the most important attribute for a Mage, that's because the INT attribute increases one's magic attack and defense. For this reason, the mage will prioritize increasing points in this attribute.

The DEX attribute is sometimes overlooked, even though the effect is very large in a fight. With the DEX attribute, one's attacks can trigger critical attacks and increase the chance of critical rate attacks. Critical attacks are dangerous for anyone, because they reduce a large amount of HP.

VIT becomes a self-defense attribute, in the sense that it provides a prime amount of stamina, power, and endurance. If a mage ignores this attribute, he will tire easily and fail to balance his body and magic abilities.

And lastly is LUK or luck. This attribute can trigger someone or the environment around them to get good luck. This was quite useful for trading and such, as if the goddess of fortuna was always following him.

Aiden listened carefully, learning about base stats had not been taught at the academy, nor had Master Sylas explained in detail before.

For Aiden, this was an advantage because the higher his base stats, the stronger and more efficient his magic attacks or defenses would be.

"That's why I'm asking you, what kind of mage do you want to be in the future?" Sylas said.

Aiden's attention was drawn to his hands, his eyes squinting to see what his strength and future would be like. However, there were many things that made him doubt, at least for now.

His purpose in being reincarnated was to find the beast essence of the Fire Dragon Chronos. He had not found any trace of that essence until now.

However, his closeness to Aurora opened Aiden's way to knowing the ins and outs and history about the dragon race. Perhaps, they knew where the dragon beast essence was.

"I don't know. About that, I haven't found a definitive answer yet," Aiden replied.

Sylas nodded. Aiden's leveling up speed was remarkable for a boy his age, it was only natural for him not to know what he wanted to become in the future.

"Then, let me guide you to fill in those attributes first. In the future, you can set the points in those attributes yourself," Sylas explained.

"In fact, you can reset everything and organize it as you please. However, you will need one important item," said Sylas.

"What's that item?" asked Aiden.

"The Attribute Reset Token."

"With that token, all your points will be reset to base points, so that when you've decided on your future, you can allocate those base points to the attributes you want," Sylas explained.

"Do you understand?" asked Sylas, and Aiden responded with a nod.

"Alright. Let's set up those base stats."
