Chapter 44 - Snow Valley

Aiden obeyed what Sylas said, after all, the old man was far more experienced in magic than he was.

Some attributes had significant points, such as INT, VIT, and AGI. However, other attributes seemed to have balanced points.

After listening thoroughly, it was then that Aiden's base stats attributes had been fully arranged. He saw that the numbers were in line with what Sylas had suggested.

[Base Stats]

[STR: 80]

[AGI: 185]

[INT: 345]

[DEX: 110]

[VIT: 230]

[LUK: 70]

[Base Point: 0pts]

Unexpectedly for Aiden, magic energy seemed to flow steadily inside his body as if the determination of points in each attribute had a significant effect. He turned to Aurora while saying that his body was much better.

"Thank you," Aurora snapped, speaking to Sylas.

"No problem. It'll be troublesome for Aiden if he learns level 3 magic spells with attributes as weak as before," Sylas explained.

"Try it, Aiden. You'll feel the difference," Sylas commanded, Aiden clearing his throat in agreement.

[Magic Element: Fire Arrows]

From the top of his palm, he managed to manifest one fire arrow. Aiden drove the fire arrow into the rock in the cave room, the rock shattering into small pieces.

Although it was normal, Aiden felt the speed and flexibility of his fire arrow increase. It was as easy for Aiden to move it as if it were his own finger.

"Let's try it outside," Master Sylas said.

Aiden nodded. He stepped with Aurora out of the cave and continued to follow behind Sylas.

Arriving outside their cave hideout, Aiden was shocked to see that it was already snowing outside. But the further Aiden moved, the more he noticed something odd.

To the south, he saw the sun shining bright and strong, whereas in winter the sun is usually covered by snow clouds.

Aiden stepped to the edge of the valley, stepped over some snowdrifts and saw that the area outside the valley had no snow, it was as dry as summer.

"What the hell is going on?" asked Aiden, confused.

"Take the snow under your feet and try to burn it with your element," Sylas instructed, and Aiden cleared his throat trying.

He scooped up the snow with his hands, then focused his elemental fire on his palms.

It was surprising to Aiden, but not to Sylas and Aurora. The smoldering flames did not melt the pile of snow in his hands even a little.

"This is not natural snow, but the manifestation of your ice dragon magic," Sylas replied, standing beside Aiden.

"You've been unconscious for nine days since the two magic synchronizations were completed. The academy is hunting for you," Sylas explained, surprising Aiden.

"Hunting me? What for? Is it because I'm guilty?" asked Aiden, Sylas sighed and shook his head.

"Seeing that you managed to survive in such an extreme place made the elders and the head of the academy curious about your durability," Sylas replied.

'Damn! Are they planning to cut me open?' asked Aiden, panicking.

"Extreme places like Fire Fountain Hill's peak will help a lot for students to improve their abilities and levels. But, due to the aggressive nature of such places, the benefits are limited," Sylas explained.

"If they could figure out what made you survive for so long, they might apply it to the rest of the students and make it their top technique," the old man said, advising Aiden.

'Even if they insist, they won't know.My endurance doesn't come from any particular technique, but from the 100% regen from my active curse,' Aiden explained.

The old man beside Aiden tried to calm Aiden down, saying that everything was fine so Aiden didn't need to worry.

With Aurora's snow domain and Sylas' magic protection, they would make sure that Aiden would be fine.

"Can they see us from outside the valley?" asked Aiden.

Aurora shook her head, explaining to Aiden that her ability prevented people from seeing anything inside the snowy valley, but the effect was reversed. The people inside the snowy valley could clearly see the people outside the valley.

"They can't see it, after all, no mage would dare put their foot down here," Aurora replied.

As Aiden glanced at the area around him, he realized something. The trees were dead and shedding their leaves, the dead animals were frozen in a pitiful condition, the snow was falling more and more heavily on the place.

"You noticed, huh?" asked Aurora, Aiden swallowing his saliva deeply.

"Why don't I freeze to death here?" asked Aiden, matter-of-factly.

"Because I choose who deserves to live," said Aurora, showing her cold demeanor and attitude.

'She's dangerous, with just magic like this, she can make many people die in her hands,' Aiden explained.

'It's lucky for me that she's a beast I've tamed,' Aiden chimed in.

Aurora added that Aiden could train intensely with Sylas without having to worry about people coming close.

Sylas nodded, he had to admit that this snowy valley between two mountains was a great place for Aiden to train hard.

"I'll guard this place for you, Aiden. You don't have to worry," Aurora explained, stepping closer to Aiden with her hand clasped in his.

Aurora glared at Sylas, threatening that she'd freeze Sylas again if he got Aiden hurt during practice. Sylas refused, getting hurt practicing magic was a sign that his hard training was working.

"Don't kill him! Remember that, old man!" threatened Aurora, cold and cruel.

The woman unhesitatingly changed her form from a girl in a long dress to a huge ice dragon flying to protect the valley.

Aiden and Sylas looked at the ice dragon, then let out a long sigh of relief. Sylas turned to look at his disciple with a sense of excitement.

"How did it go? Are you ready to practice magic with me again?" asked Master Sylas, Aiden smiled widely and nodded.

"I'm ready!"

"Then let's get started."
