Chapter 9 - You Talk Too Much

Persus' spear was stopped by Silas' palm seconds before it could impale his stomach, and the blue haired man's brows raised. He pulled the spear back, and swung it in an arc.

Silas sidestepped, dodging the head of the spear, then he closed in and grabbed Persus' armour. The golden plates crumbled to dust as Persus leaped back, his eyes wide in shock.

"Matter Deconstruction?" He tried to appraise, glaring at Silas' hand for a second then maintaining his distance. He wore plain clothes under his armour, not wanting Silas' touch.

"You wish." Silas scoffed, then he dashed forward, swinging his arm in a wide arc in an attempt to catch Persus off guard. Persus tilted back, and his arm swept past his calm face.

Silas, who was left wide open after his lunge, was pierced by Persus' spear. As the sharp pain rippled through his body, Silas' muscles tensed as if he got stunned by weak electricity.

Before Silas could grab the spear, Persus pulled away and spun to the side, swinging his spear along and cutting across Silas' right arm then putting even more space between them.

"I can't believe you managed to get around someone like Ice," Persus started to speak to the tensed Silas, struggling to find an opening, "The Frost children are very rare in my city,"

He sighed, then snapped his fingers, "Tomorrow, the Resistance will launch a heist for a rare item. I know that they'll pay a hefty sum to get their hands on a rare ice superhuman."

"You talk too much," The second those words fell, Silas' blow was already flying at his face and Persus wasn't able to dodge it. The punch connected with his nose, then cracked.

Before Persus could react, another punch slammed into his stomach, lifting his feet off the ground and sending him into the air. As he landed, a third punch sent him flying back.

"I just noticed that I can't use two superpowers at once," Silas narrated as he dropped his metallic arm, watching as Persus stopped himself mid flight and slid across the ground.

"Two super powers?" Persus asked, watching Silas with a raised brow. Before he could react, Silas had crossed the distance between them and appeared right in front of his face.

Before Silas could slam his hands into his face, Persus formed a cloud of water between his face and Silas' palm. The water evaporated as Silas' hand touched it, and he leapt away.

Silas slammed his metal fist on the ground, sending a shock wave across it as it blew up into many pieces, and the shattered tiles were sent flying into the air at the stunned Persus.

"But, that's impossible!" He shouted, but before he could say any more words, Silas had appeared by his side and slammed his fist into the side of his face. Persus was left stunned.

The punch sent a shock wave through his head, and the remnants of the shock rippled through his entire body, before he was blown off his feet and sent flying into a nearby wall.

A trail of blood was drawn in the air, then fell to the ground in a splatter. Silas stood as Persus crashed into the wall, his face disfigured from his metal fist, "Who's trapped now?"

Persus struggled to speak through his disfigured teeth, spurting blood from his mouth as he struggled to form coherent words, "You think that you're so tough, but don't forget."

Powerful jets of water burst out of the wall, aimed towards Silas. He raised an icy palm and held it before the high-pressure jets of water, freezing them around the shocked Persus.

"Is that everything you've got?" Silas asked, then he walked back to the door. As soon as he placed his hands on the door, Persus struggled to his feet, rushing Silas in a sneak attack.

Before he could reach Silas, the 'illusion' came crumbling down. Silas turned to face the attack with a cold stare, "Since the start, I wasn't the one trapped in this illusion of yours."

Everything faded away, and the reality returned to Silas gaze. He raised a brow, staring at the three men cowering behind a desk then at the armoured guards pointing guns at him.

"By using my deconstruction super power, I can tear down anything," Silas stared at the shocked Persus who stood with trembling hands on the spear he formed at the last minute.

"I chose not to use it because I wanted to learn the limits of my new powers." Silas held his cold gaze, watching as the men slowly began to lower their guns, "Until I defeated you."

Persus chuckled, beads of sweat running down his cheeks. He spun around, turning to a man who stood with his gun lowered, "If you want to see your family, shoot the fool down!"

"I will count to ten. If you can leave this room that time, I won't chase you." Silas said a second later, and many men threw their guns to the ground, turning to run, "Ten… Nine…"

Seeing Persus join them in scrambling for the door, Silas scoffed. He dug his hands into his pockets, following them as they all ran, casting a glance to all the abandoned weapons.

"Are they going to take my word for it? What a bunch of fools." Silas looked around and observed the second room. It was completely empty unlike the last, then he continued forth.

He walked until he got outside, where he found Persus along with some others pointing their guns at his face. He turned to the side, where he noticed Ice and Luke taken hostage.

"Even with super powers, they are still humans! Shoot the bastard and kill him!" A man shouted from inside the crowd, and the others opened fire on Silas who only raised a brow.

He vanished from their sight, appearing at the end of the group— leaving a trail of meat paste across the ground and spraying blood into the air —then releasing the man he caught.

The others opened fire, and as he vanished again, they opened fire on themselves. Silas appeared by Persus side, staring at the man with a gun to Ice's head, "Me, or your bullet?"

The second the man pressed the trigger, a force slam into his sides. He blew up like a tomato, and Persus who'd been used to stone him, rolled down the road in a bloody mess.

"Who's faster?" Silas added, dropping his hands then turning to the others who were standing with their guns raised. The stream ratings soared as the streamer chat blew up.
