In the morning, David woke up feeling refreshed, he walked out with the plan of getting a new set of clothes that day along with some necessary gadgets and accessories.
'Since I now have enough money to spend I shouldn't behave like a miser anymore but I should start spending a bit more and think of a way to keep earning stable income.'
He didn't think that just because he had a new and cool ability he could do whatever he wanted but he knew there were others like him out there or perhaps even more powerful than him.
Also, even though he didn't care about saving lives or being responsible for the lives of others it didn't mean he didn't really care at all and would live a reckless life making the lives of others miserable.
He kept it in mind to compensate all the workers that were fired after all interrogations were over but for now he was just living a normal life not wanting to get entangled in any kind of mess.
He went shopping for the rest of the day, buying simple gadgets that would fit in his room and necessary electronics.
He had considered changing his living space but he put it off for now with the thought that he had gotten a bit used to it and wanted to spend a bit more time there.
After getting home, he unloaded his package, then decided to go out for a stroll. He put on a hood, an habit he had gotten used to due to the obvious scars on his face and although he had gotten used to it, others weren't and would still frown at least when seeing him.
Some even stepped back in fright before regaining composure after all his scars were really frightening with the shape and depth.
Some even wondered how a human could survive long enough to get through with such a wound.
He jogged out of his hostel with his hood draped on his face. As usual, he scanned through the people he passed by checking their body to see if he would stumble on a new mutant but he had seen none for the past few days.
He was lost in thought when he looked up and saw a boy walking across the road in front of him, he seemed no different from others but that was to others, to David he was like a glowing bulb with the green color in his body.
'It's the green color again, just like with Jarvis. I didn't get to copy Jarvis the last time but now I am compensated with another person with a green!' he thought happy that he had finally found another mutant he could copy.
He still hadn't figured out how to develop his ability the slightest bit so he decided to just copy as much as he could and even stronger mutants so he would be as flexible as possible and be able to react to any kind of situation at any time.
And now he had found another target to leech on.
'Wait, why am I thinking of leeching on him? It's not like I'm some kind of parasite or anything, I just want to converse with him! I mean he looks so much like an utterly lost soul right now'
David thought as he tailed the boy till he reached the outer area of Lagos, the suburbs which the poorer part of the people stayed.
It seemed the boy came from the suburbs since he was walking with a bag slumped over his shoulder, he looked to be around 15 years old.
David quickened his steps and walked forward to meet the boy then tapped him on the shoulder.
The boy seemed frightened before turning back to see a hooded guy with his hand on his shoulder.
"Hello, nice to meet you, my name is David" He said while removing his hand from the boy's shoulder and raised his head smiling trying to sound as friendly as possible.
"Shit!!" the boy suddenly shouted and stepped back in a hurry trying to get as far away from David as possible like there was some kind of virus on his body.
David's mouth twitched repeatedly when he saw the boy act like he had seen his death day or the grim reaper.
"Hello nice to meet you, the name's David."
The boy only seemed to calm down now and David was wondering what could have scared him so much like that.
"You scared me so much there man, honestly you look like a zombie or something with that face of yours"
😲
David looked like he had swallowed a fly whole finally discovering that the reason he was so scared was because of his scars.
Looking at the boy now he did really seem like a fine lad but that didn't give him a reason to react that way or say those words.
'I'll teach him a lesson later once i am done with him" David thought concocting a plan to let him have a taste of terror once he was done with him.
"Do you stay around this area?" David asked.
"Yes I do, why do you ask?"
"Alright, you seem to be quite the interesting lad and you have caught my interest I would like to interact with you more, can I have your contact info?" David said while trying to sound mysterious.
The boy's mouth twitched repeatedly then he turned and ran away with all his strength.
David looked at him as he ran with his mouth twitching severely.
Even though he had seemed a bit overboard, it definitely didn't need such overboard reactions right?
When David was about to continue tailing him, he saw a man walking in his direction from behind but what caught his eye was the red color all over his body.
There was no other color, everything was just red and David was shocked to find another mutant in the same day and same place and while he turned to look at him he saw the man's eyes looking at him with a hazy gaze like in a dream.
"Hello there, the name's David" he said while stretching his hand.
The man looked at him then clenched his fist and threw a heavy punch in his direction.
David hurriedly backed away and the iron door that received the man's punch had a hole torn straight through it.
The only thought on David's mind as he looked at the torn door was
"I'm so fucked up!"
