Slap~~
The sound resounded as Daniel stumble back, he looked at his father who had just landed a resounding slap on his face and kept quiet.
"Where did you keep it, huh?"
"Father, I didn't give the order to withdraw the assets of the restaurant from the bank, I left work early that day and I definitely didn't return to the restaurant"
"So you mean the people present were lying?"
"The manager, workers, the people present and even the CCTV were all malfunctioning?"
"I don't really know about that but I am sure I didn't return to the restaurant after getting off work"
"You know what? I wouldn't be so concerned if you want your little business to crash but you know your grandfather supported you to use it as a cover to hide some of his assets?"
"What do you expect him to say now that it's all gone" Daniel's father said with such force he could as well just start sprouting fire at anytime soon.
Daniel couldn't say anything this time, this was the one thing that he couldn't refute.
It had been on the back of his mind ever since the incident, his very own fate remained questionable but since his grandfather said nothing, he remained silent.
He made an attempt to just push it to the back of his mind for the meantime but being reminded by his father told him of what his life would look like when his grandfather actually reacted.
Perhaps even David didn't know what kind of problem he had caused was up to this scale.
David looked at his father who was now silent, sitting on the couch, he knew his father didn't hate him or anything. In fact, it was quite the contrary.
He was doted on by his parents since he was a little kid and they treated him with love and care, this was the first time his father would slap him or attempt any sort of physical abuse.
But he didn't blame his father since he knew this was already beyond his capabilities.
If anything, he knew his father was currently thinking about how to solve the predicament for him.
With different thoughts going through his mind his father suddenly stood up took his coat and said
"Stay away from your grandfather for the meantime I will go have a talk with him"
He said and left without waiting for a reply from his son.
Daniel's father walked out and got into his car telling his driver to retire for the day then driving personally to a cottage in the outskirts of the town then walked into the house.
The house seemed deserted and desolate but then he walked into a room filled with books, removed a book from it's position revealing a keypad with buttons.
He pressed a series of buttons the wall opposite revealed what seemed like an elevator.
He walked into the elevator then the elevator descended into the ground floor.
After a while, the elevator stopped and he walked out into a lab with few people working in it and a few rooms locked on both sides, he walked towards the room on the end and opened it to reveal a spacious room with a man seated on the table and others sitting on both sides of the table and others standing on the sides.
"What's it now, I'm currently in a meeting" the man said in annoyance.
"I'm very sorry for interrupting you father, but I need to discuss about something to you urgently"
The man looked at the others in the room and said "Please give me a minute, I need to attend to something."
They stood up and left then the man said
"What's it this time Raphael?"
"It's regarding Daniel's restaurant Dad."
"What about it?"
Raphael went silent for a while then said "it's very suspicious, I mean the whole thing concerning the incident."
"I checked his whereabouts and he had clearly left and didn't return but the evidence proves otherwise."
The man went silent for a while then said "I know, I've checked and he didn't return."
"Then what happened that day?"
"It was not him, it was someone else."
"How is that possible?"
The man went silent for a minute then stood up and walked towards the window.
"Raphael, what do you think of the changes in the world, is the world really ending or becoming something new?"
Raphael looked confused for a moment then said "I'm not really sure about what you mean father."
"Would you believe it if I told you there's someone out there who took Daniel's form to impersonate him and withdraw all the assets?"
"That's not possible right?"
"Follow me." He said before walking towards the opposite side of the room and opening the door.
"The world is changing Raphael, it's shifting into a new era and we need to adapt with the change to survive."
Raphael seemed to understand nothing of what his father was talking about when he saw what was opposite the door.
"Someone out there abused his power trying to bully our family so I will take actions to stop it and anyone else who tries to do so and this is the way for us to remain at the top of the chain."
He said as Raphael's eyes widened at the view before his eyes.
