Hazel looked at Harry sternly and he returned his sister's gaze sheepishly.
"You really don't understand what being a seer is. I can tell that you have been exposed to powerful magic. Something to do with the soul." She paused and looked at Ron setting up the Tan Dimension Wizard chess board. "And you spoke parseltongue?"
Ron paused and looked to her. "You know it?'
"Of course. Magic is magic from dimension to dimension. You're right we do give things different names but I am from your dimension so I have already translated most things to my. And parseltongue is not so rare in Tan and there are no negative connotations attached to it. Many in Tan use it in powerful incantations."
She left them to speak to Hermione and Evervine.
"What do you think of this Hermione?" when Hermione looked up Hazel was motioning her over. Both Hermione and Evervine walked to her and entered a sound proof bubble. "I don't want him to hear me but Harry has found that book I dreamed about."
Hermione's eyes when wide and she spun like she was about to go reprimand Harry. Evervine's hand was on her shoulder mid spin and she calmed instantly. Evervine looked to Hazel but she was speaking to Hermione.
"Hazel said we are here because she does not want him to hear. What is going on Hazel."
"I just confronted him and he denied it. I then told him he did not understand what a seer could do and he just pleaded with me with his eyes."
"With his eyes?"
"I guess he doesn't want to talk about it."
Hermione pursed her lips. "Your brother is such a great idiot!"
"I am aware unfortunately. I am going to lower the bubble and say this part to everyone. But I want you two to understand the context." They both nodded, curiosity on their faces, and the bubble dispersed with a small popping sound. "Harry when you and I were just talking I saw that Hermione will be in danger."
"In danger how?" Everyone had stopped what they were doing and walked to Hazel.
"When my brother was just lying to me I saw Hermione petrified holding a mirror. I think she was in a library but I don't know because she is always surrounded by books. Now remember changing an action can bring about what you are avoiding or something worse. Don't over think it. I did not see her die only become petrified." She looked to Evervine. "We need to research different serpents from En, focus on petrification as its mode of attack. Then we need to figure out how to reverse this petrification. My first thought is Landrina."
Evervine nodded. Hermione frowned. "Landrina?"
"Oh. In En Dimension it is called Mandrake."
"Oh yes. Professor Sprout told us about that."
"She did? What did she say? It seems that some of your teachers are very capable. Three of them thus far."
Hermione frowned. "Well. I can definitely tell that Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is no good."
"She's right about that."
"Ron!"
"Well she is."
"Um sorry. Professor Sprout says what about the Mandrake?"
"That it is a powerful restorative and it can bring a person back even from many curses. But the more mature the mandrake the more potent it is."
Hazel and Evervine looked at each other and nodded.
"I will handle the mandrake then."
"Okay. I will make sure it gets to mom." She looked to Harry and he quickly turned to Ron and began focusing on the wizard chess game. Hazel shook her head and pursed her lips. Hermione on the other hand spoke, and she spoke loudly,
"So you really have that book don't you? It is too dangerous."
"I can handle it. If it seems to get dangerous then I will destroy it."
"Destroy it?! How?"
He looked to Evervine and shrugged. "I will figure that out."
"You are going to figure out how to destroy an item that is powerful and very likely deals with the soul?" Evervine shook her head and looked at Hazel. "Sometimes I really can not believe that he is your brother."
Everyone slightly stiffened and Ron and Hermione shot each other glances. Hazel merely stood in silence and Harry grumbled "Well I am her brother."
"I know you're her brother I just can't believe it sometimes because you are such an idiot."
Ron looked to Hazel. "Why serpents"
She looked at him for a moment, confused by the abrupt change in conversation. "Oh. Because he spoke parseltongue and he is hearing a voice that no-one else hears. You are dealing with some type of serpent." She paused like she had just remembered something and immediately forgot it again.
"Oh yes. How is quidditch going?"
Ron became excited. "Gryffindor will play Slytherin soon and with Harry playing everyone believes we have a chance to win."
"I'd like to see that game. I am going to talk mom into allowing me to go see it."
"Really? Do you think she will let you?"
Hazel looked to her brother. "Of course. She is just going to show me off as well but she will let me go." She thought for moment. "My winter break starts a bit earlier than yours but I will ask mom if I can spend a week with you."
Harry smiled. "That would be great Hazel."
"And what about you. When is this family meeting?"
Hazel looked at Evervine and thought for a moment. She then shrugged and answered her. "Mom is ready. She and dad have been doing these rapid fire question and answer sessions. The meeting is actually Saturday."
"Tomorrow?! Are you ready?"
"Sure why not?"
"She is not normal like us Hermione. She does not prep for everything."
"But she does prep."
"And that is how she is weird. She does not prep for everything but she is successful in absolutely everything. It is quite annoying."
"I am right here. Why are you talking like I am no where around?"
"the truth does not need to be hidden and we are all friends speak up if you need to."
"Are you worried?"
"No. More annoyed with the process. Harry is the adventure I am an academic but the dimensions won't leave me alone." She got excited. "After the meeting I am going to practice traveling to an unknown dimension, well unknown to me and know to my dad. I will tether to him and he will make sure I do not get lost."
"Oh. That is exciting. Which one. To you the third, to Tan Dimension it is called Eram Dimension."
"You're going to Eram! I am going to make a list of what I want." Evervine looked to Hermione excitedly. "Come let's discuss it and then you can make a list too." This excited Hermione and they were off to a corner of the dreamscape. Hazel saw this as her opportunity and went to Ron with a smile.
"Ronny. Can you please give this to George and do you think he and Fred need new beater bats?"
Both Ron and Harry paused but for two different reasons. Harry took the small box from Ton causing Hazel to frown and reach for it. He snatched it back and looked at her questioningly. Ron stood in serious contemplation the entire time.
"Their beater bats are second hand but they are very good too."
"I was looking at the silver basher, the golden thump, and the bronze slugger, but the diamond whomper seems the best." Ron's eyes had gone wide.
"All of those are incredible beaters bats. They would love to have either one."
Hazel thought for a moment. "I think I will observe their style of play and see which will be better for them."
"And what is this?"
Both Ron and Hazel turned as one to see Harry holding a black crystal in the shape of an eight sided star with different colors blinking around its points at all times.
"It is a gift for a friend Harry. And why would you open it."
"A gift? What friend? Did you make that Hazel?"
"Do you know what it is Marcel?" Marcel was mesmerized by the pendant and it took a minute before he actually heard Harry.
"Oh it is an aura scrubber but it seems to be a special one." He looked to Hazel. "Can this help in potions making?"
"Of course." Hazel grabbed the air quickly and brought her hand back to her. In it was the eight point star crystal and its box. Harry looked at his hand stunned.
When he looked back to Hazel the box was re-wrapped and in Ron's hand.
That Saturday a dream door opened in a vast lawn of lush bluish-green grass. Minerva McGonagall and Hazel McGonagall stepped out of it and it closed behind them.
"I do not appreciate not knowing my daughter's full capabilities young lady.
"Yes mother I apologize."
"I have a pile of those from you I want you to actually do as I ask for a change."
Hazel did not comment as Professor Sing quickly approached them with a broad smile across her face. She was wearing deep purple dress robes with gold trim. And Hazel was glad that she chose to wear basic black. Her mother wore dress robes in the scarlet and gold of Hogwarts' Gryffindor house as she always did to functions of this nature.
"Minerva always good to see you."
"Sara, a pleasure as always."
Professor Sing looked to Hazel with a smile. "And you. Already a dreamwalker and opening dream doors at this level! And here I thought you had neglected all of your abilities. Come. Come. Everyone is eager to meet you."
Hazel stifled a groan and forced her eyes not to roll.
"This is the Wist dreamscape. They are hosting the gathering this time. We always have these gatherings within the dreamscape, it is a tradition of sorts."
"It is a way to keep out your weaker members and segregate potential."
Hazel looked to her mother with a smirk. Her mother was starting before the meeting even started.
The meeting was set up on the other side of the lawn. It was a vast tiered area with a large table set at the lowest tier, in the center, tables set in front of it and tables set all along the other tiers above it. Deep blue vines with red and white blooms hung from the tiers.
Hazel frowned as Professor Sing led them closer and closer to the center and finally to a small table, within a grouping of four tables, to the right of the main table.
Hazel just stood looking at Professor Sing. The professor's smile became strained.
"Please Hazel you and…" Her eyes widened and Hazel raised her hands to calm her.
"She is here. She just doesn't want to draw too much attention to herself right now."
Professor Sing nodded her understanding and Minerva McGonagall sat at the table indicated.
"Mom!"
" Sit down Hazel."
She did as she was told.
