"So please Hazel help me. I am having very bad luck here."
Hazel shrugged at her brother as Ron made his move in their Tan Wizarding Chess game. He already had two of her subordinates and he was feeling good. "It seems to me you already know"
"You need to talk to this Dobby character. I do not need to do a session to see he is going to be a problem for you."
"She is a seer. When you speak to her about a subject she can sometimes, well this is Hazel so it is probably closer to all the time, "see" into the situation."
Harry nodded to Evervine's words and then looked to his sister, who shrugged again.
"I saw that he was going to be trouble but that he has good intentions. I didn't know he had the power to seal off the entrance to the train. And while we are on the subject why is there only one way to get to Hogwarts?"
Evervine and Marcel looked up frowning.
"Well only one major way. Evidently they can fly there as well but it is frowned upon."
Marcel nodded. "That makes sense."
"It does how?"
Marcel's eyes widened as he moved to Evervine in excitement. Hazel and Hermione gave each other knowing looks while Evervine's frown deepened.
"OH Evvy let me explain it to you." Evervine raised an eyebrow and Hazel and Hermione stifled giggles. "En Dimension keeps magic a secret at all costs. I think only high government officials in the none magical sectors know about it. While in Tan Dimension everyone knows about and embraces magic."
Evervine looked to Hermione and Harry with a frown and they nodded.
"We call non magical people muggles."
Evervine's eyes went wide and she looked to Hazel who, again, shrugged.
Evervine just shook her head after that. "So. You are not going to this meeting right. Everyone in the school heard your father say no."
Both Harry and Hermione perked up at this. They didn't say anything and just listened.
Hazel took Ron's third subordinate and had his king trapped in one move. She looked to Evervine with pursed lips. "Minerva McGonagall has veto power over everything in my life. She will be accompanying me as well. She has said that Professor Sing is not strong enough."
Hazel whispered the last part as if her professor could hear her here on the dreamscape and Harry and Hermione laughed until they saw both Evervine and Marcel with serious, ashen faces.
"Five families?" Rom only asked because he hoped to distract her."
"No six. The six divination families. They are pretty powerful since Tan Dimension still puts a lot of weight into prophecy. They are the:
Ambrose
Clarkton
Meyers
Swap
Timms
And Wist Families."
"Ambrose? Rosa?"
"Yes but Hazel is more important than she is so she is of no consequence."
"I wish you would have allowed me to hurt her."
Everyone smiled. Hearing such words come from such a beautiful sing-song voice was amusing and a bit unreal. Shyla appeared next to Hazel and handed her two new crystals.
"That's enough Shyla. This will make fifteen. They do not even deserve this many and there are six families they will not divide evenly. Three will have to stay with us for now."
"Two each? No I do not like that number. Let me make three more and then they can have three each."
Hazel thought about it for a moment and nodded. "Only three more Shyla. They shouldn't even know that you can make eighteen so quickly."
Hazel's focus returned to Harry. "So this Dobby." She shook her head. "I did not realize the domestic elves were that powerful."
"They are very powerful." Hermione frowned. "I think that is why the house elves must be bound to the family they work for. I used to think that it was about tradition but now I think it is about control."
"Wow. Elves in Tan Dimension are not weak but they are not extremely powerful either. But they have control over many of our processes."
Evervine became lost in thought as she mentally debated the issue. Hazel looked at her a short moment and stood after checking Ron's king.
"I have made it so you can all stay here as long as you like and, when you all learn how, (she looked pointedly at Ron) you can come to this space whenever you like."
Hermione beamed as she looked around. "You stabilized it that much?! I can't sense the difference. Congratulations Hazel!"
"Yes. Thank you Hermione. I decided to meet with the head of the Ambrose family so I am going to leave you for now."
Harry was immediately concerned but she calmed him before he could speak. "I will be okay. He is just testing my abilities. Shyla will be with me."
Harry nodded. "I will wait for you as long as I can."
Hazel nodded, hugged him and left them. Both Hazel and Shyla appeared in a different dreamscape and immediately they knew it was the right place. Hazel had seen many different dreamscapes Mr. Ambrose's was rather unique. She wondered if he had a boastful nature.
"House leader Ambrose?" She had not expected him to wait here for her until she arrived so she "called" out for him. She actually spoke but she also sent out a call of consciousness that traversed his entire dreamscape.
"You came Fatetress."
Adam Ambrose's voice was even more domineering here on his dreamscape. Hazel watched as he walked between the layers to appear before her. She saw surprise register on his face as he understood that she knew exactly where he had been and where he would appear. Then there was greater surprise after he looked at her carefully. She only allowed about fifty percent of her being to be sensed. She would have to remember to take it down to thirty or forty when she was on the dreamscape.
He suddenly bowed and Hazel frowned. "Why do you bow sir. I have not chosen and I may never choose."
"Whether you choose or not it is already within you." He looked to Shyla. "And your companion also tells of who you are."
Rachel nodded to this. Shyla would not attach herself to anyone weak.
A table and chairs formed on the plane near them and Hazel looked pointedly at Adam Ambrose and he merely pointed to the table. She decided on a chair two seats down on the left of the head Of the table. He sat directly across from her.
"I know that Rosa is causing you problems and I want to help you. I want to make sure that you are safe." Hazel frowned and he smiled and set back. "Of course you are safe. She is not as powerful as you and your spirit of discernment is probably extremely powerful."
"It is beyond your imagining. I want to know about this competition. Hazel is not of one of the six families. From what I understand you need to be in order to participate."
Hazel looked at him blankly, waiting for him to respond to Shyla then she remembered he had never heard her speak. Language was translated in the dreamscape but he probably believed that he was too weak to do this. Before she could explain she heard Shyla explaining rudely.
"Do you truly know nothing? I have Hazel. She is more than strong enough to translate my words." He snapped out of his daze.
"Of course. Of course."
"Shyla no need to speak like that."
"I apologize young one. Now explain how Hazel can participate in this."
"You are right about the terms and conditions Noble One. But Hazel is your companion and a fatetress. With this she will be able to enter."
"I thought as much. They want to use you Hazel. Leave these families alone. They do not have a history of honesty."
"Shyla. He can still hear you."
"I know. Young one. Do not be offended by my honesty."
Hazel shook her head and Adam Ambrose smiled.
"Of course not noble one I understand. Our families have not been as righteous as they should…"
"No. Don't start. I am older than you think. And names are of no importance to me. Now I am Shyla but in the past I have been Alisha."
"If names mean nothing to you why change them and take time picking them."
"Well let's just say I don't hold on to them." Shyla looked at Adam Ambrose's shocked face. "I see that your family remembers me."
"Shyla! You know that you are being rude. We shall be leaving sir. My mother has agreed to the initial meeting and the competition if everything goes well at the meeting."
"Your mother only?"
Hazel shrugged. "He needs more information so if she likes what happens at the meeting so will he. Have a restful night sir."
And she was gone. He had tried to stop her by altering his dreamscape so no one could leave but she left with absolutely no resistance like he had no say in it what so ever. He shook his head and left the dreamscape.
"And how was this pretender?"
"She is no pretender."
"Hmph!"
"Her Star bird is Alisha." The woman frowned and then looked concerned. "Exactly! Now tell your daughter to leave this girl, and anyone associated with her, alone. House Ambrose needs her."
"But you said Rosa would be competing for the house."
"She can still compete. We have to have three competitors. But she won't win. If Hazel competes Hazel will win."
"And what has she done for you to endorse her like this?"
"What has she done? I can not read nor see her. She found my dreamscape with no help from me. I still could not read or seer her on the dreamscape and with my barriers and defenses at maximum she still left my scape on her own with no trouble at all. That is what she has done."
He made himself a drink and sat down as far from the woman as he could. He should never have gotten involved with the woman. She was now becoming a liability. His position was now secure, he may need to separate himself from them both. He swallowed his libation while he thought about next steps.
