Chapter 3 - Bad news to trust not?

I had to leave in half an hour, so I decided to get in the shower to rinse off the sweat from running. I washed off, got out, got dressed for work, and pulled my shoes on, grabbing my keys and my phone. I walked into the kitchen, where Dylan was standing at the sink, drinking the faucet water again.

"I'm going to work, I don't want to see your girlfriend over when I get home, Shes just as obnoxious as you…if not, worse." I said as I went into the garage, opening the large garage door, while getting into my car. I reversed into the driveway, and got out, closing the garage door.

I got back into my car, and started my hour long drive to work. I held my phone, as I drove, I was connecting to the aux and turning on some music, glancing at my phone, and glancing at the road. I felt my headache coming back, and remembered the herbery, it's open. I sighed, couldn't stop now. I continued my drive, music playing, windows slightly open for air, and an overall peaceful morning. Not much traffic.

It was calm for a while, I'm now about five minutes away from the bar I work at, which is right next to a river. My phone suddenly started emergency ringing, which made me jump because it was connected to my car, i quickly turned off the aux, pulling over. I checked my phone, it was a weather report, which was weird because in this state, it's rare to even get a tornado.

||"Hurricane warning, with a possible tsunami, depending on how strong the hurricane really will be, they think it's going to be a category 4."||

"What the hell?" I muttered to myself

||"They are suggesting before this really gets serious, since the hurricane seems to be forming already, they are suggesting people evacuate the area ASAP."||

My phone rang, Dylan was calling, which only spiked my anxiety. I've always had a fear of these things happening, although I've always wanted a natural disaster to happen in front of my eyes…I answered the call. "Hello?" I said.

"Hey dude! Did you just get the amber alert? The house just went horribly loud with that weird siren thing. Dude, I think you should come home, tell your boss you can't attend, I'm sure he's understand, getting the same alert." Dylan sounded worried for once.

"Yeah, I'll just head home…I need to lay down anyway, on my way home, can you run to the dispensary and get me a 4 gram of flower? I don't care what brand, I'll pay you back…I need blunt wraps too, like a lot, so get me multiple packs or. Just 50 joint paper packs." I said, as I was starting to turn back towards home, an hour to go..

"Yeah man, yeah I'll head to the dispo, you want indica? Sativa? Or hybrid?" Dylan questioned

"Get me two different flowers, indica and sativa. Not hybrid, just those two" I said

"Okay, well, hopefully you get home soon, I'll head to the store actually too, I'm going to get water and food just in case something happens." Dylan claimed

"Uhm, okay dude…thanks for real." I said, Dylan said bye, hanging up. I took a deep breath.

"Oh goodness…please, God, stay with me in this moment…" I said to myself, taking another deep breath. "Come on..it's not that serious…you're freaking yourself out, calm down…" I told myself, I've never believed people online when they mention crazy things happening, but for some reason, I was scared.

I've never dealt with a natural disaster, I've only seen disasters on socials. And what sucked, is I take things seriously, so knowing that, and hearing about this weather report was nerving.

I made it home, and my boss is already calling, I answered..

"Where are you? You're late." Alex said, which is my boss.

"Did you not get the weather report?" I asked, I was nervous, which made me feel more stressed. "Does it matter? When in, like over 40 years have we ever had a damn hurricane, the biggest we've had was probably a damn earthquake. Grow up already and get to work!" He yelled.

I huffed, and hung up, looking around, I went on my phone, and texted Alex, "Hey man, I get you want me to work, but this is for my safety, and besides, I'm tired already from working all the time, I need a break. You can't just have me working for like 15 hours every day at your bar with no stops." I sent the message, knowing I'm probably getting fired, but that would also be stupid.

I opened the garage door, and got back in my car, driving it into the open garage. I closed the door, and went to my desk in the garage "Perfect" I subconsciously said as I sat at my desk, Dylan had gotten me some more weed and papers, so I got to rolling.
