Seeing as the beautiful lake beside him, rippled aggressively. A blank expression could be seen from Zane's face. It wasn't really because he was relaxed or calm, but simply because of how shock he was. He didn't know how to react to his current situation.
'Huh? What's that?'
Not so long after the ripple appeared on the lake, an egg could be seen, below the water of the lake, being carried upwards. The water of the lake then carried it and gently put it at the ground.
Zane could see the egg much clearly now. The egg was large, much larger than an ordinary egg, it also had scales covering its shells.
'... Don't tell me she wants to give me that! A divine egg?!'
A Divine egg were an egg, that came from a deity of the likes of Sylvaris. The likes of Sylvaris could be considered a god or a higher being. After all, Sylvaris was the protector of nature. Which means that, an egg that came from Sylvaris was not something to be given to a human.
'No. It can't be it, I mean, that just sounds so absurd!'
Zane looked towards Sylvaris, confirming his guess. Honestly, he was hoping he was wrong. Taking care of a divine egg, was not an easy task. He doesn't even know what to feed it, or what to do with it. He also didn't know why Sylvaris said he would need it in the future. All of it just sounds so confusing.
Sylvaris slowly looked back towards Zane. She looked at his slightly shocked face for a moment, she then said in her calm tone.
"Zane, I understand that all of this is too sudden. But, please. Take this child of mine. Both of you will one day, be the major figures who will overcome the war."
"..."
'...War?'
The divine deity looked at Zane's confused expression. She locked her eyes in Zane's eyes and said.
"Yes, war."
'H-huh? She can read my thoughts?!'
Sylvaris let out a chuckle, she then said.
"Its all written on your face, Zane."
Zane stared at Sylvaris for a moment, trying to process all the things she said. He then lowered his head, looking at the ground. Then, he released a heavy sigh. Trying to relax his self. There was no need to be scared, however, standing before Sylvaris, was just something out of a fairy tail.
"Hold on, I'm sorry but, what do you mean by war? Is there going to be a war? And why would want to give me your child? Sorry but, I can't guarantee that I will be able to take care of it properly."
Sylvaris who was still looking at Zane through his eyes, said.
"About the war... you will know when the time comes, Zane. Who knows, maybe he will personally come and tell you everything. But, for now. It's better for you to focus more on your self Zane. Become even more stronger, is all I can say. And as for the egg, it will hatch on its own. Once it hatch, you can feed it mana stone once a week. Not so hard right?"
She stopped for a moment before continuing speaking, she then said.
"Anyways, Zane. There is not much time, Velrath most be looking for you now. This is all I can say for now, Zane. But, I'm sure we will meet again in the future..."
Zane stood still for a moment, processing all the stuffs she said, from the war to the egg, and... 'Velrath?! She knows about Velrath?'
"W-wait! How do you kno-"
However, before he could finish his words, his surroundings started shattering. As if, the dimension it self was getting erased. However, Sylvaris was still there, standing before him. A gentle smile could be seen on her face.
Zane let out a gasp, seeing the unusual sight around him. He looked around, scanning his surroundings. Seeing as the dimension was on the verge of collapsing, he shifted his focus on Sylvaris. Who was still looking at him. The glowing particles started to surround Sylvaris, glowing even brighter. Sylvaris, was also disappearing.
"See you... Zane Thaleward."
Until finally. The dimension collapsed. Now all he can see is an endlesss void, surrounding him. Startled by the sight, he looked around the void for a while.
"What the..."
Then, suddenly. Before he could finish his words once again. He started to fall below, as if the empty space of darkness was swallowing him.
Zane shouted as he could feel his body, falling on the empty darkness below him.
"Shit! What the hell is happening?!"
Zane could only close his eyes. For some reason, as he kept falling on the empty darkness below. He felt a sense of comfort, he could also feel his heart beating slower.
It felt... amazing.
It felt as if, he could fall asleep.
"Zane!"
"Hey, Zane! Wake the hell up!"
For some reason, Zane could hear a familiar voice. Zane felt his consciousness being pulled back into reality, still feeling half asleep, he said.
"...Huh?"
Zane slowly opened his eyes, his vision, still a bit blurry. As he opened his eyes, he could see a human-like demon in front of him. He looked like he was saying something, but it felt vague to Zane. He could barely hear anything at all.
"Thank the gods! Wait, aren't I a demon? Why the hell am I thanking the gods? Ah, never mind that, my vessel is alive."
Hearing the familiar voice even more, Zane's consciousness fully went back. He let out a heavy gasp, realizing what had just happened. He opened his eyes wide, he then got up from the dirty ground. Breathing heavily, and his eyes wide. He looked like he had seen a ghost.
Right after he got up from the dirty ground, memory from what had happened before, suddenly flashed his mind. From the moment, he got into the lake, to meeting Sylvaris herself. It all seemed like a dream.
Feeling a headache, he put his right hand on his forehead, trying to ease the pain.
'So, I guess it really wasn't a dream, huh?'
Zane took out his hand from his forehead, however, as he took his hand out from his forehead, he could see a strange mark, just near his palm. It was glowing as well.
