The night air grew thick with an eerie, unsettling energy as the darkness deepened. Kai's eyes were fixed on Shinji, his teammate's battered body struggling to withstand the brutal assault. Crimson Moon loomed over Shinji, its jaws wide open, ready to deliver the final blow. Kai's heart racing, his mind screamed in desperation. He felt a cold dread creeping up his spine as he realized that time was running out. Shinji's eyes, once bright and full of life, now dimly flickered, his body on the brink of collapse.
With a surge of adrenaline, Kai chanted the cheat code, his voice shaking with urgency. But to his horror, nothing happened. The familiar surge of power didn't course through his veins, and his strength didn't increase. Kai's eyes widened in shock as he stared at Shinji, his friend's life slipping away. He tried again, chanting the cheat code with every ounce of energy he possessed. But again, nothing happened.
Crimson Moon's jaws snapped shut, mere inches from Shinji's face. Kai's heart skipped a beat as he realized that Shinji was about to die. With a desperate cry, Kai sprinted towards Shinji, determined to save him. But Tamer blocked his path, a sneer twisting his face.
"You're too late," he taunted, his eyes glinting with malevolence.
Kai tried to push past Tamer, but the older warrior was too strong. He blocked Kai's every move, his movements swift and deadly. Kai's frustration boiled over, and he screamed, "Shinji! No!"
Just as Crimson Moon's jaws were about to close around Shinji's head, a shimmering magical shield erupted from beneath a nearby tree, enveloping Shinji's battered body. The shield glowed with a soft, ethereal light, protecting Shinji from the wolf's deadly attack. Kai's gaze snapped towards the source of the shield, his eyes locking onto Lila's pale face. She was still resting under the tree, her eyes closed in concentration.
A wave of gratitude washed over Kai, and he whispered, "Thank you, Lila."
Crimson Moon lunged at Shinji once more, its massive body crashing against the magical shield. Lila's voice echoed through the air, "Kai, I can't hold the shield for much longer! Help Shinji, fast!"
Kai's gaze snapped towards Tamer, who stood before him, a smirk twisting his face. Kai's mind racing, he thought, Even if I can land an attack on him, it seems like I can't injure him. And to make things worse, it seems like I can't use the cheat code again. I guess this time, I just have to find a way to kill Crimson Moon and escape with Shinji and Lila.
Tamer's voice cut through Kai's thoughts: "Boy, didn't you hear your lady friend over there? She can't hold the shield for much longer. You have to do something."
Kai nodded, his eyes locking onto Tamer's. It was time to act. He thought to himself, Now it's time to put everything I've learned from playing the game to the test. All those hours, all those strategies... it's time to see if they're enough to save my team.
With a deep breath, Kai steeled himself for the battle ahead. His eyes narrowed, his fists clenched, and his mind focused. He was ready to face whatever lay ahead, armed with nothing but his wits, his skills, and his determination to protect his team.
Kai charged at Tamer, his sword slicing through the air. Tamer was unfazed, his daggers rising to block the attack. The blades clashed, Tamer's daggers pushing Kai away, sending him flying through the air.
Tamer sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "You're now beginning to disappoint me, boy."
But Kai didn't hesitate. Using the momentum from the bounce, he turned and sprinted towards Crimson Moon. Tamer's eyes narrowed, realizing Kai's plan. He took off after Kai, his daggers at the readyand shouted Crimson Moon don't fight him run.
Crimson Moon, began to run away from Kai, leaving Shinji, its massive, battered, and bruised body crashing through the underbrush. Kai gave chase, his superhuman speed propelling him forward like a bullet. The forest blurred around him, trees and bushes becoming a green and brown blur as he gained speed. Kai's heart pounded in his chest, his senses heightened as he focused on his target. Crimson Moon's massive form loomed ahead, its claws pounding the earth as it fled.
Kai closed in, his sword at the ready. An elder wolf jumped in front of him, but Kai struck it down with a swift and fatal blow. The wolf's body crumpled to the ground, its limbs twitching in death.
Kai didn't break stride, his eyes fixed on Crimson Moon's fleeing form. He was gaining on the wolf, his superhuman speed allowing him to close the distance. As he drew near, Kai raised his sword, preparing to strike.
But Tamer appeared out of nowhere, his daggers blocking Kai's attack. Crimson Moon, seeing Tamer, changed direction and began to run towards Shinji. Tamer grinned, his eyes glinting with amusement.
"I guess you weren't fast enough, boy," Tamer sneered.
Shinji, who had been watching the scene unfold, saw his chance. With a Herculean effort, he summoned the last vestiges of his strength, stood up, and grabbed his daggers. His eyes locked onto Crimson Moon, his mind focused on one goal: taking down the alpha wolf.
Charging straight for Crimson Moon, Shinji moved with a speed that belied his battered state. His feet pounded the earth, his daggers flashing in the moonlight. Crimson Moon, sensing Shinji's approach, turned to face him, its eyes blazing with fury.
But Shinji was undaunted. With a swift and deadly motion, he landed one dagger in Crimson Moon's eye, the blade sinking deep into the wolf's skull. The alpha wolf's body shuddered, its legs buckling as it collapsed to the ground.
The second dagger followed, slicing through Crimson Moon's neck with deadly precision. The wolf's body went limp, its lifeless form crashing to the ground. The forest fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the combatants.
Tamer's eyes widened in shock as he turned to face Shinji. His face twisted in a snarl, his eyes blazing with fury.
Kai smiled grimly at Tamer, his eyes locked on him. "Guess that takes care of all the wolves," he said, his voice dripping with satisfaction.
One by one, the remaining wolves began falling lifelessly to the ground. Shinji, his chest heaving with exhaustion, began to pull out his daggers from Crimson Moon's lifeless body.
Lila, who had been recovering from her injuries and regaining her magical energy, appeared in front of Shinji. Her eyes were filled with concern, her voice laced with worry.
"Are you okay, Shinji?" she asked, her hands reaching out to touch his face.
Shinji tried to respond, but his words were cut short as he fainted to the ground. Kai shouted, "Lila, heal Shinji and yourself fast, while I deal with Tamer!"
Tamer smiled, his eyes glinting with amusement. "So, just because you killed an A+ ranked Alpha wolf, you think that you can now deal with me?" he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt.
Kai smiled back, his eyes locked on Tamer. "No, I just have to hold you out until morning, when the guild realizes that we haven't reported in, they will send backup."
Tamer's grin grew wider, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "Okay, boy, let's see if you can hold out until morning."
