I did not want to listen to anything he had to say. I just wanted to leave the island as soon as Puff woke up but before I could open the door to head out, I turned back to Kashar to hear him out.
Why am I like this?
"Thank you." His gentle demeanor was back.
I did not care, he did not have an excuse for treating the women the way he did. Perhaps he had a reason, but an excuse? Never.
There was no justifying that.
"So?" I crouched down beside him and crossed my arms. "What do you have to say?"
He raised his eyes at me slowly, as if he was weighing whether I was truly offering him a chance to speak or just baiting him into saying something I could use against him. I did not blame him, after all, I had bashed his head into the wall once today and I would be more than happy to do it again.
