All Might was about to respond before the girl with the ponytail who could make cannon decided to do it for him. The American would have looked at her while she was speaking, but her costume made him turn right back around.
...
Peter started to think about the exercise, quickly tuning her out. He wondered how the matches would play out for him, but he should be fine as long as it wasn't against Bakugo.
Clearing his throat, All Might brought the class's attention back to him. "Young Yaoyorozu is correct, students! Heroes often can't pick who they work with! Now, let's decide the teams!" Seemingly out of nowhere, the hero pulled out a small box with a hole on the top and shook it, prompting all the students to go up and get a number.
After everyone had grabbed a ball from the box, they all stood by. Peter looked down at his hand and studied the white ball in his hand, the letter E printed on it in black lettering.
"Alright, kids! Let's see who you wound up with, shall we?" With the click of a button in his hand, a holographic screen appeared before the teens.
..

'Mirio, huh? I can work with this. ' Peter thought to himself quietly, a small smile on his face. While he didn't know the full extent of how good he was at fighting, he did have a pretty useful quirk.
Right on queue, the grinning blue-eyed boy wobbly popped out of the ground next to him, practically bouncing in excitement after regaining his balance. "Oh, we're gonna do great! I'm really glad I can work with someone I know!" He said, extended his hand for a handshake.
Smiling, Peter accepted the handshake. "Yeah, we should do fine depending on who we get."
Wait, who were they gonna go against? Maybe Todoroki? That guy seemed kinda intense. Maybe Nejire, Rumi, Moe, or Tamaki? Rumi and Tamaki seemed to have the more formidable partners so maybe.
"I see how you've all found your teammates, heroes! So let's see the matchups!"
And with yet another click of a button, the holographic screen changed once again.
With his eyes trailing down the screen, his smile quickly faded. Taking a deep breath, he had to hold back a curse.
Team J (Heroes.) Vs. Team G (Villains.)
Team A (Heroes.) Vs. Team D (Villains.)
Team I (Heroes.) Vs. Team C (Villains.)
Team F (Heroes.) Vs. Team D (Villains.)
Team E (Heroes.) Vs. Team H (Villains.)
...
The boy turned his head to meet the glare of Katsuki Bakugo, who was in the middle of giving a sinister grin and licking his lips. Next to him, Iida was in the middle of trying to get himself into the character of a villain.
Why did the universe hate him? What did he do to deserve this? He sighed while rubbing his eyes through the mask, only stopping when he felt the hand of his partner on his shoulder.
"Hey, you guys got some history or something, right? You and the explosion guy, I mean." Giving a reassuring smile, he asked the boy in front of him. Peter could only sigh and run his hands down his face.
"I mean, I guess? He's kind of a dick and I had to deal with it for a bit, he's also got a whole superiority complex going on and somehow I damaged it." Mirio winced at the explanation, they both looked back at their opponents to see Bakugo was still glaring at them.
"Oh… We'll do great! I trust you on this!" His partner reassured, flashing a smile and giving him a strong pat on the back. Peter could only smile under his mask and nod.
Out of nowhere, Iida's hand shot up from the crowd, the boy standing straight.
"Excuse me, All Might! I have noticed that this is the same city as the entrance exam! Are we going to be conducting urban battles!?" He shouted, Peter winced at the volume.
Why did everyone have to be loud?
"Not quite, young Iida! While most villain battles that are broadcasted take place outside, statistics state that the majority of villain encounters take place indoors!" Their teacher proudly announced, Peter winced at the volume once again.
His loudness aside, Peter was glad this was gonna be taking placed indoors. During patrols, he always stuck to confined spaces so he could use his quirk more freely when fighting.
Clearing his throat, the man continued his explanation. "Yakuza meetings, backroom deals, hostage situations, that's what you'll be dealing with when you become heroes! In this exercise, the villains will have to hide and protect a fake nuclear device inside the building, while the heroes will have to either capture the villains with capture tape or retrieve the device by placing a hand on it!"
Alright, Peter could work with that! If he could get Mirio into the building, it'd be easy going from there! Wait, maybe he should ask about his quirk a bit more.
"Hey, Mirio? I know you've told me what your quirk is and how it works, but how good are you at controlling it? I think I could have a plan already."
Going off of the sheepish smile Mirio gave, the control was less than stellar.
"Well, as of now I can only make my whole body intangible or small parts of my body like my arms or legs, although finer movements take me a bit to do. Does your plan still work with that?" Mirio asked, tilting his head.
While it did hurt his plan a bit, it would work. Before Peyer could respond, All Might's voice boomed throughout the room, snapping everyone to attention.
"So, how about we get started?! How about… The match for team E and H go first! Now, please grab these communicators and go down to the testing site!"
Damn it.
Just.
Just damn it.
"Whatever, let's walk and talk so I can break this down. You trust me though, right?" Peter asked, being taken aback by the near-immediate nod Mirio gave him.
This guy was like a golden retriever, wasn't he?
...
"Woah! Are you not dizzy?" His partner asked him, eyes wide in amazement.
The pair of teens now stood before a 10-floor building down at ground Beta, simply waiting for the villain team to be done with their prep time. Mirio was in the middle of pumping himself up with some stretches while Peter was scrolling through his phone, hanging upside down from a lamppost as his hood hung limply in the air.
"Nah, I'm fine. you remember the plan, right?" He hopped down onto the ground, put his phone back in his belt, and pulled up his mask, wearing it as some sort of beanie. Peter raised an eyebrow at the look Mirio gave him.
Why did he feel Nejire vibes again?
"You alright?" The question snapped the boy back to reality, making him shake his head and give a small smile.
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine! It's just… I've never realized how tired you look."
Tired? He heard some people call him tired, but was it that bad? His hands reached up to his face and touched the heavy bags under his eyes, he couldn't even remember the last time he got a good night's sleep.
"Oh, I guess I am tired." Giving off a dry chuckle, he pulled his mask back down over his face. "But you remember the plan, right?"
"Yeah! Totally! It'll be awesome!" He reassured, hopping up and down in anticipation.
Giving a nod, Peter shot a web a created a small hammock in between two lampposts, jumping up and laying inside for the next 3 minutes.
If this plan worked, it would be so cool!
After the prep time passed, All Might finally announced the start of the exercise with a deafening shout into their ears.
"BEGIN!!!!"
"Mirio! Phase one!" After receiving a nod from the boy, Peter hopped down from his hammock, picked up his partner, and placed him in it. Not wasting any time, Mirio set his eyes on the building while Peter ran around to the back of the hammock and pulled it back a line of webbing.
The strain of the web sounded through the air, almost time!
"Alright, Tintin! You ready to noclip into that building or what?!" The masked teen yelled, hyping himself and his partner up.
"Yes! Let's do it!" Mirio called back, both the teens grinned in excitement.
Peter quickly let go of the web in his hands, releasing the tension on the hammock and making it slingshot Mirio into the air and towards the building.
Mirio sailed through the air, his cape wildly flowing in the wind as he cried out "POWER!!". Finally, the boy reached the building and seamlessly phased through the wall and inside the building.
*BOOM!!*
With a loud explosion, Mirio phased back out the wall and onto the street, lazily landing on the hammock he was shot in. Peter only sighed when he saw how his cape was slightly charred.
"Bakugo?" He asked.
"Bakugo." Mirio responded, getting up from the hammock while hopping down onto the street and putting out the couple embers on his cape
Alright, plan B!
Now he just has to make a plan B!
Why was planning on hard?
