Well, he was, but he didn't want too many people he wasn't close to knowing that.
Quick, think!
"I uh, read it online?"
"Alright!" And just like that, she walked away. Peter let out a sigh.
...
Right now, only Rumi, Nejire, May, and the UA staff knew of his vigilantism. Deep down it gave him the feeling that people would see him differently if they knew, and he didn't want to stand out too much.
Maybe he should tell Mirio, Tamaki, and Moe? Friends tell each other stuff, right? Although past crimes may not go into that category. What if h-
Like a meteorite, the form of Rumi appeared out of nowhere and stood beside him, her ears straight and a wide grin on her face.
"Woah, why didn't you tell me you were ripped? We should work out later!" The girl was bouncing from foot to foot, throwing jabs at nothing. It was the first time Peter had seen her hero costume.
A simple white and purple sleeveless leotard with a crescent moon on the chest, a fur collar, and metal plates in the midriff. She wore her usual white gloves along with purple thigh-high boots and black tights.
He noticed that her boots had metal plating that looked like rabbit feet around the toes and heels.
Also, how come he hadn't noticed she had muscles? Now that he thought about it, she looked kinda hot.
Wait, where'd that come from?
"O-Oh, yeah I normally wear baggy clothes. You excited for the exercise? I was more pumped for getting costumes, I worked on this one for a bit." He rolled his shoulder, trying to change the subject as a way to lessen the heat on his face.
Man, was he thankful for the mask.
"Eh, I just wanna kick some ass already! I hope this isn't a team thing, I don't need people dragging me down!" She responded, thumping her foot on the ground in excitement.
While Peter did feel like Rumi's hatred for teammates could be bad down the line, he could agree he liked doing things solo most of the time.
Even if it got a bit lonely sometimes, he never was a people person.
"Woah, Peter you look great!" Mirio wobbly popped out of the ground and gave him a strong pat on the back, Peter could only sigh in relief when he saw he was still clothed. His costume was a bit more flashy than he expected, even if it felt fitting for the boy.
A white shirt with yellow and green accents and the number '1,000,000' on his chest in bold yellow letters, along with blue pants with knee-high white boots. To finish off the outfit was a flowing red cape that reached down to his ankles.
Peter had to give it to him, he sure did look heroic.
Kinda like All Might… He'd have to stack that theory away for now.
The brunette smiled at the compliment and nodded, "Thanks, man! You look superheroic. How do have your clothes on, by the way? Shouldn't your quirk make you all naked?" He said, the lenses on his mask giving mimicking his facial expression.
"Woah, your lenses move! That's so cool! Kinda creepy but cool! But to answer your question, the suit is made out of my hair so it phases with me!" The blonde laughed, his cape flowing behind him.
Man, did he look creepy? That kinda hurt. Although what he said explained the haircut he got after the exam.
"Rumi-Chan! Mirio-Kun! You guys look so cool! You too, Peter! I barely recognized you! Does your suit have to do with your quirk? You have to tell me all about it!" The voice of Nejire along with the telltale sound of her quirk's buzz reached his ears, he turned his head to be met with the familiar sea of Periwinkle hair.
She wore a form-fitting blue, white, and mint jumpsuit along with mint knee-high boots. On her hands were bright yellow globes and on her wrist and ankles were turquoise spirals, and on her upper thigh were straps that had satchels attached. To top it off, there were two horns of hair styled into spirals.
Mirio started to talk to Nejire about his costume, the girl doing loops in the air out of excitement. Rumi stood beside the brunette with her hand on her hip.
"Hey, why the mask? You're the only one covering their face outside from the tentacle dude." She asked, tilting her head as her ears fell a slight bit.
Wait, why did he wear a mask? He guessed it was a force of habit but it didn't feel like the right answer. He'd have to try and figure it out later.
"I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. Guess it makes me more comfortable to not show my face, you know?" Was that it? It did bring him peace to not have his face out there so it felt like that was why.
"Can't say I feel the same though, I want anyone whose ass I'm kicking to see who did it!" And back to shadow boxing she went, Peter couldn't help but find her enthusiasm kind of cute.
Wait, where does that keep coming from?
The sudden feeling of slight heat brought him back to reality, he turned around to see that Moe and Tamaki had finally made arrived.
Moe had a light-gray jacket. Her collar, belt, and wrist guards are black with thin red lines going over them. Along with that, she had a belt with a temperature gauge on the front and a fire extinguisher on the back, black knee-high socks, and short black boots. On her face was a black eye mask that was connected to a hairband.
On the other hand, Tamaki had a more tactical look. The shy boy wore a black bodysuit decorated with gold plating around the arms and shoulders, along with a white tunic as well as a matching cape and hood that features more gold plating on the top of the hood. He also sports a purple mask over his face as well as a matching carrier vest with red straps.
Man, why did he feel like his friend's costumes looked better than his? Well, at least it came out like he wanted it to.
A couple seconds passed until the last person, Bakugo himself, walked into the observation room. While Peter found it confusing he was last since a guy who had to put on a suit of armor got there before him, a part of the ash-blonde's costumes gave him a bad feeling.
The gauntlets he was wearing, his spider-sense buzzed slightly just look at those things. And it probably wasn't because they were a bad fashion choice.
Even though they were. Seriously, those things looked so stupid.
"You all look wonderful, students! Like true heroes! But as you all know, we aren't here to show off our costumes! We are here for battle training! Any questions?" The hero standing in front of them finally spoke, his voice echoing across the room.
"Will the losers be expelled?"
"How much can we hurt our opponents?"
"Is this a team thing?"
"How do we win?"
Question after question came flying at the man, Peter felt the slightest bit bad when he saw how his smile became forced with frustration.
"One at a time! I do not have a hearing quirk! Uh, yes! Young Iida!" Peter turned his head to see the armored student perk up, was he the guy with weird legs? He kinda looked like Ingenium now that he thought about it.
"How will teams be determined!?" The boy shouted, why did everyone have to be loud?
"Randomly! We shall draw lots to put you all into teams of 2 that will be assigned as either heroes or villains!" All Might announced proudly, hands on his hip.
That made sense when Peter thought about it, heroes don't really get to choose who they team up with when on the job. Iida seemed taken aback by the response, immediately shouting again.
Peter was really starting to not like this guy.
"Randomly?! Is this truly the best way to do it?!"
All Might was about to respond before the girl with the ponytail who could make cannon decided to do it for him. The American would have looked at her while she was speaking, but her costume made him turn right back around.
