The sound of crickets filled the night as the fire burned in the small hole they'd dug into the ground.
Ren and Thorn were three days into their journey to the Underwood territory. If they'd be picking Lilith up to join them, it had to be done right. Not that anyone could stop Lilith from coming with them but it was the thought that counted.
There was also the fact that Lord Underwood had to give his blessings before Lilith could come with them. After all, they weren't married yet. That was still two years away.
Ren sat outside his small tent, on a log in front of the fire. Thorn sat opposite him, on the other side of the fire, his own back to his small tent.
They hadn't taken a lot of belongings, as they'd be roaming a lot, so the small tent had been a practical choice.
