Chapter 7 - Finn's Sage

Eager to meet her, he reluctantly held off as he drew closer not quite believing his eyes.

He nearly went over and ripped the dog's head off when he put his hands around her neck threatening, but he knew she could take care of herself and was happy to see that she did not a moment later, throwing him off.

Interested in what they were talking about, he caught the tail end of their conversation.

"Let me tell you something, your long-lost love has a suicide wish. It's when Mama witch linked them together in a spell, he's the one who volunteered to die," said Damon going off the information Elena provided, unaware it never happened.

"He wouldn't do that," Sage denied, though Finn could see this jackass's words were getting to her for some reason.

"He didn't want to live, not for you, not for anyone. He doesn't love you sage, and when I do find another way to kill those originals I'll start with Finn," said Damon walking off to his car.

Missing context, and unable to think straight after finding out his one true love is still alive, and somehow not only being fooled by this piece of garbage but allowing him to walk away after threatening his life, no matter if it was possible or not, hurt.

Anger flared as he appeared before them, cutting off Damon's escape.

"Finn!" gasped Sage, and as she was about to approach him, she froze under his glare. "Finn?" she asked hesitantly.

"I heard you were a cocky little shit," he said turning his attention to Damon.

As a sneer forms on Damon's face, ready to retort, Finn speeds forward, grabbing him by the neck, holding him up as he breaks both knees and rips his guts out, tossing him against the car.

Damon cries out, groaning in pain as he crumbles face-first to the pavement.

"Sage it's good to see you again," said Finn, but holds his hand up to prevent her from getting close no matter how much it pained him.

"Finn, please," Sage pleaded.

"I heard what he said, and how you believed him," ignoring her shaking head, "Tell me something Sage, how could you let him walk away like that after what he said, after he threatened me?"

"No, Finn it isn't like that, I just, I…" She didn't have any good answer, wracked with overwhelming guilt.

Finn frowned, "Did you sleep with him?" he asked, thinking of a reason.

Damon grimaced, propping himself against the car, and took the only shot he could. "She said I was the best she ever had," he said mockingly.

Sage shook her head, closing the gap "No, Finn don't listen to him."

Ignoring her, Finn looks down at Damon with disdain, "I'm not surprised, with all the kinky shit they do nowadays. She probably enjoyed taking a pretty boy like you," he rationalized, having discovered the black hole that is internet porn.

Damon's face screwed up not liking the implications but not sure how to respond while Sage blushed embarrassingly.

"But I'm here now, and she's mine," Finn said suddenly, grabbing her and pulling her into a kiss that took her breath away.

"Unfortunately, my ass is off limits, so we'll need to look for another woman to sate your more sadistic side," he said, loving how she was only ever meek and submissive for him.

She blushed furiously, "No, I only need you."

He snorted, doubting her after surviving 900 years without him, though he couldn't blame her, it was a very long time.

And though she said that, she couldn't help but think about how much she enjoyed helping Damon get with other women. Her heart fluttered at the thought of doing the same for Finn. She might have developed a bit of voyeurism over the years, having slept with far fewer than one would expect in all those years while waiting for him.

"Did you have to do that?" Damon asked, a bit perturbed at seeing his guts spilled out everywhere, breaking the awkward silence.

"Yes," said Finn flatly, reaching down and breaking his arms at the elbows when he attempted to reset his knees.

"Argh, Fuck," cried Damon.

"To think you wish to go up against Originals while on vervain no less, you are crazy," said Finn, smelling it on him.

"Took your brother down a peg," quipped Damon.

"Yes, I've heard about your little surprise attack. Niklaus must be holding Kol on a tight leash for you to still be walking around," said Finn.

"Trust me there's nothing little about it, just ask your girl," Damon smirked.

And suddenly they both laughed, wiping the smirk off his face.

"Let's just say, there's a reason why she only acts like a woman with me," Finn smirked right back as his irritated expression turned into humiliation once more.

Damon just couldn't win with these two.

Sage's face bloomed once more with a happy grin in confirmation as he grabbed her ass, "My warrior queen," he whispered to her, pecking her cheek.

"You're still the only one I've ever gone down on," she grinned lovingly.

"Good girl," he said giving her ass a smack making her yelp/moan unseemly.

"Don't make me barf," said Damon unhappily.

Squatting, he examined Damon closer. "Though it is surprising, even with the vervain, you're far weaker than normal. Why is that I wonder?"

"It's because he's a young vampire. The older you are, the stronger you are," Sage explained.

"No, that's not it, doesn't make sense… If I had to guess… Tell me how many generations are you from an Original?" he questioned.

"Who cares," Damon spat.

Finn stood up, "I'd say the reason he's weaker is that each new generation away from the Original is weaker than the previous the farther apart they are, which would explain why the world hasn't been overrun by vampires, at a certain generational distance from the source I doubt anymore can be made."

Coupled with the fact that many vampires consider turning another as a type of parental responsibility they don't want to undertake, keeping their numbers extremely low compared to the wider world's population, with the vast majority of them living in North America and Europe.

"I don't know, I've never heard anything like that," said Sage.

"It's just a theory, in any case, it makes much more sense than age, otherwise You would be stronger, wouldn't you? It's clear to me that they're weaker not that you gained strength, am I wrong?" asked Finn.

"Now that you mention it that does seem to be the case. I guess I just went along with what everyone else said and didn't put much thought into it," said Sage.

"What are you going to do with him?" asked Sage.

Damon smirked, "Why are you worried about me babe?"

Sage scowled and kicked him in the face, splattering blood from his mouth along the side of the car and pavement.

Looking at the coughing wretch, Finn sneered, "You still care for him, don't you?"

"No Finn, I…"

"Don't lie to me," Finn warned.

"He was sort of a protégé, I taught him in the past," Sage explained.

"You're still too soft," said Finn, surprising Sage, and Damon, recalling a time when the redheaded female dominated a boxing ring, beating men bloody.

"Was I unclear about my distaste of our kind, or why I hated them, why they could never be trusted?" asked Finn.

"I know but…," said Sage.

"At least you provided a prime example. I will drain him of all his vervain and show you why you can never trust this filth," said Finn. It was always the overconfident ones who did the worst things, the ones who believed themselves to be better than everyone else.

"God, do you ever shut up, you're no different than me, you're also a vampire," retorted Damon.

"There are always exceptions and while I can't claim to be a saint, I have never fallen into depravity," said Finn proudly.

"Only because you've been stuck in a box for 900 years," Damon spat.

"I was a vampire for at least 100 years before that without issue, I doubt you lasted even one year before falling into sin," Finn scoffed, shutting Damon up as he was spot on.

Finn sneered, squatting by him, grabbing his hair, "You'll rue the day you ever crossed me."

"Rue the day, god you are old," quipped Damon, "Really Sage, you're into this guy?"

"At least he isn't some shallow fool desperate for a Doppelganger." She said, causing him to scowl.

"You're quite resilient, probably been tortured before, but I assure you by the time I'm done with you, I'll make those fools look like the halls of Valhalla," he said, taking his head in his hands and slowly starts to break his neck at an agonizingly slow pace, "And if you're lucky I'll let you watch as I take that pretty little girl Elena before I finish you."

Sage frowns at that but says nothing, knowing it was to get under Damon's skin.

"If you touch her," Damon managed to wheeze out, suffering like never before having never experienced his neck being snapped in such a way.

"You'll what, watch? Probably enjoy it too," he chuckled as Damon tried to retort but was gasping in pain as his neck reached its breaking point, "And if you're really lucky I'll even have Katherine join before I end you," he said antagonistically.

Damon practically seethed as his neck gave way, finally snapping.
