Useless, that's all that Emma felt. She doesn't know how she is supposed to gain strength, so she can't complete the Wishing Stars mission.
Wait!
Wishing Star could grant her wish! All she has to do is become stronger. Emma simply had to just get stronger, something that she was already more than willing to do. Emma tried to get back up, but failed. Alita had offered her a hand.
"Your spirituality must be running low. Oh yeah, I don't think I told you about that yet, spirituality is the energy you use to exist. If you ever overuse it, you will end up dead, this isn't a very common way of death for spirits especially for wanderers, since the more you grow in strength, the more spirituality you have. Spirituality is used when you use your ability or abilities, so make sure to never use them. " Alita explained to her.
"Oh, alright," Emma had already stood straight up, while Alita had questioned them about what had happened to the other groups. Of course since they were so spread apart from each other, they hadn't known what happened to the other groups.
Except for Eye's group and there, apparently he ordered his teammate to go back to base because of the Night. Isabella's group had dealt with some people in ninja-like outfits, which basically confirmed that Shy House had something to do with it; they had nearly been overwhelmed, but Eye suddenly came to help them, and they won. Unfortunately not in time, kind of like Alita, they had to face the Night. Isabella apparently dealt with her own suffering by sealing her mouth shut. Oliver merely stated that he manganged it.
The only one facing problems with their suffering was Eye himself, since they didn't know what his suffering was at all, they couldn't do much for him. They had to experience first handedly someone struggle with their life to win, and failed, then become a Lost.
It was kind of ironic really, no one had expected the one to hate Lost the most, to become a Lost. That was when Emma and Alita had come to the picture.
Emma continued to ask things due to her suffering, and they had also told them what happened to Orm, and Tildoor. Oliver looked a bit dejected, and Isabella looked just fine, like she expected it to happen sooner or later.
"I think we got to go now, I'm not sure how long I can stay during the Night," Oliver announced.
Isabella nodded her head in agreement.
"Sure, why not? We'll deal with these things in the morning," Alita responded, still helping Emma stand. They stood in place for like a minute or so, just looking towards the ground.
"Are we going to go right now then?" Emma asked, because of her suffering. She really didn't even want to be the one to say that, but Emma was too afraid to not say it. She didn't want to become dead. She could still feel her suffering trying its best to make her a Lost, it doing so was wasting her spirituality, so she had to ask even if it was uncomfortable for her.
"Yeah, well just bury them really quickly. You can stay… actually it might be better for you to follow." Alita responded, carrying the heads in the bag.
They walked out of the gate, towards somewhere a dozen feet away in the yellow grass. Alita dug a hole with a silver blade that came from her palm. The hole was not that big, but it was big enough to put the two heads in.
"May you return to the Spirit Mother, Tildoor and Orm." Oliver, and Alita whispered to themselves. Emma looked around to see what Isabella did, but she couldn't find her.
"Where's Isabella?" Emma asked in a high pitched tone.
"What?" They said in unison.
The others looked around too. Oliver went back towards the gate to search for her, and was following with the help of Alita.
When Emma, and Alita reached the gate, the had been yet another body, and honestly Emma didn't even want to exist to see who it obviously was.
Isabella's body laid there on the floor, her head being replaced by a note that Oliver was already reading.
"Shy House." Oliver said out loud. He acted like the note was the most repulsive thing there ever was.
"Did Shy House do it?" Emma asked a question she already knew the answer for, she wanted to reject that it had happened again.
"Yes."
At this point she wondered to herself 'Could Mr.Wishing Star even resurrect so many people?' She felt like her goal was now impossible to reach for now. She didn't even know what she should feel for herself, was she Useless? Worthless? A burden? No she didn't feel like it was that. Disgusting, that had to be the right word, in this world she was disgusting for being so weak. She was disgusting for not doing what she promised herself to do.
Emma just wanted to fall asleep, and dream, dream of something nice and good.
Alita, and Oliver were talking about who had done exactly.
"It's got to be him, he's the only one able to do it so quietly." Alita said.
"Who?" Emma asked.
"The leader of Shy House, Diprenor," Alita answered.
"Are we going to attack Shy House then?" Emma asked genuinely invested.
"No, we're going to ask Avid's main base for help, to take down Shy House." Alita told her.
"There's no way they'll listen, they're just as snotty as those noble, boss! We got to do something ourselves!" Oliver shouted in response.
"I thought you were one to follow the rules? Don't you know that attacking, or planning to eliminate some major organization needed to inform, and ask for assistance from Avid?"
"I know about the deal that was made between Avid, and the Shy House boss, there's no way they wouldn't even consider helping us. I only follow the rules when it's just to do so." Oliver retorted, refusing to step down.
"What deal?" Emma asked, confused.
"Avid gets 50% of the corpses Shy House produces. They use them to feed something, a monster of sorts." Oliver responded immediately.
