Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 - New School Year

The days quickly passed by for Felix as the day to board the Hogwarts Express arrived. He wouldn't say it was smooth sailing for himself after dropping the water orb. The lion hair man known as Rufus Scrimgeour was particularly unpleasant as he couldn't push charges on him.

The main three reasons Felix wasn't sitting in a cell, the first was that Rufus and his group were at fault too. They were the one to demand he lowered his wand when they were below the water orb. The second being the Death Eater who led the group in the attack was Rodolphus Lestrange. Finally and probably the most important was Albus Dumbledore stepping in.

Felix felt a bit bad making the busy Headmaster needing to pull a few strings. Otherwise, even if he could be waved off with a warning. Due to his last name Grindelwald, quite a few would try their best to lock him up. Especially after his display of talent for magic.

The Water Orb, while not complex, wasn't easy to use either. So he who managed to use it that skillfully at his age, put many who sat uneasily on their seats wanting to jump up. They felt he might become a strong dark wizard or even become a dark lord.

"Are you sure it's safe for you?" William asked.

Sitting in the car outside of King Cross Station, Felix was saying goodbye to William. The last attack also made William uneasy, but Felix didn't think it was anything to worry about. He had a few months to learn more magic and hone his skills before the next attack. For Voldemort had to focus his attention back on the Ministry, who upgraded their tolerate range of Aurors who fought Death Eaters.

The situation within the Ministry, the Aurors were allowed to use every type of spell, except the three unforgivable. Yet, how they kept getting dominated by the Death Eaters each time they clashed, Felix felt they weren't far from being allowed.

"It's probably safer at Hogwarts since there are many skilled professors and the Headmaster." Felix explained. "So don't worry too much."

"I'm worried because it's you, my child." William ruffled Felix's hair.

Felix just rolled his eyes at the concern. He felt he was too troublesome, sure a bit whimsical at times, but not troublesome. Just like last year, he put Servus Snape on the path to realize his grand dream and already becoming a rising star in the potion community. There was also making the Life Cup to help John and Angel, even if a bit of low level trickery was used. Where he brought out making the Philosopher's Stone, only to be told no, before barely being allowed to make the Life Cup in exchange.

Sure he didn't really mean to go about it that way, but he got to his goal of helping Angel and John. Now, he aims to hatch some phoenixes which will increase his escape ability. For what else he would do, he didn't know yet. Maybe he would grow some golden apples or longevity peaches. For the year seems like one for growing and hatching plants and animals.

"I will see you at Christmas, so stay safe until then." Felix gave William a fist bump before heading to the platform.

--

Walking through the barrier, Felix laid his eyes on the red steam engine known as the Hogwarts Express. He looked at the large gathering of others on the platform, many were happy, others sad at parting, but a lingering sense of terror lingered over the place.

It is understandable that this place was a large gathering spot for witches and wizards. So many didn't know who may or may not be among the Death Eaters ranks or if there would be an attack. So after pushing his way through the crowd, Felix got on the train and didn't manage to find Angel or John.

'Well, it's still quite early so they might not be here yet.' Felix thought.

After finding himself a seat, he put his luggage away and looked out the window. He could see many parents waving, some more sad looking than others as their children boarded the train. Many, he assumed, are their children going to Hogwarts for the first time.

After a while, Felix found Angel appearing among the crowd, where fifteen minutes later he saw John. The two as if sensing his location, upon stepping onto the train found his location within minutes. Which made him wonder if they used tracking magic or something on him, but no matter how he looked, he didn't find anything.

"I miss my summer break already." John asked as the train began to move.

"We haven't even got to school." Angel replied.

"This year we can try out for Quidditch." Felix said.

Both of them looked at him as if he grew a second head.

"Are you interested in playing?" Angel said, looking strangely at him.

"I don't think it is a good idea." John added.

Felix just felt speechless upon hearing this and just lightly huffed. However, he soon dashed his light whim of trying, since his two friends reacted like this. He doubted others would react much better as well as Professor McGonagall. She seems to barely tolerate him and is trying to join the Gryffindor team which is her pride and joy. It would be lucky if he suddenly grew animal parts, while unluckily he would have a large packet of homework from her.

"On a different note, look at what my mother found at Flourish and Blotts." Angel said, smiling.

She stood up and pulled out a book from her trunk. Upon seeing it, Felix felt like he saw it before, right before he saw the title and author. That is when he realized it was his Christmas gift to McGonagall.

"Did she sell my Christmas gift?" Felix felt a bit hurt actually.

While he knew that Professor McGonagall didn't like him, but to sell a book he worked hard on to try to underline her understanding of magic. It still hurt actually, since while he had a tiny bit of malice, it would help expand her view of transfiguration and magic. Now to see that it seemed to be sold away, it made him sad and wondered if the other professors did the same.

"I don't think so, my mum said there were many copies. She said that other books with your name on them were there too. It is printed by Obscurus Books which also prints Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newton Scamander." Angel answered.

"Oh." Felix felt a bit better.

If this will earn him any money, he doubts it due to his last name and despite being the author he didn't even know his books would be published. So he just decided to let it go and not care about it.

"You also got a copy? My brother bought a copy as did my grandfather. They both found it fascinating despite being first year stuff. My mother wanted to buy me a copy, but I stopped her saying I already had a copy." John said.

"Shame that the Ministry is probably going to ban it soon." Angel sighed. "They aren't known for liking new knowledge being accessible or spread. Well, that's what my father said."

John shook his head. "That's true, but I don't think they will. My brother said Albus Dumbledore was at the Ministry alongside the education members. When they left, my brother said the Headmaster and those with him left with smiles."

Felix felt weird about hearing that, but shook his head to look out the window. He began to let his mind wander and not focus on the weirdness surrounding his seemingly published books. Then he thought of another book, why not write an alchemy book this year? While the Phoenix will take time to hatch, it shouldn't require all his attention.

"What are you thinking about Felix?" John asked.

"Writing an Alchemy Book this year. Maybe a beginner guide or from beginner to advanced." Felix replied. "Also thinking about asking Hagrid if I can plant peach trees near his place. Maybe spend some time trying to make the best and delicious peaches."

John and Angel just nodded and seemed used to his weird thoughts. So both of them didn't seem to dwell on it, but didn't show much interest in them either. Unlike the Cup of Life or magic circles. It didn't make either of them interested in learning or well Angel interested, while John would just tag along.

"Are you going to have time to write? The professors will probably bring out bigger packets for you and if you plan to give them books again for Christmas. You are going to be extremely busy from the time you wake up to the time you go to bed." John asked, a bit worried.
