Chatter amongst the streets were all that could be heard from their window, talks of fights, unfair trades, and even issues with outsiders coming in. All of this could be heard from the window as Mason slightly peeked out.
It sounds like the people don't mind being too loud about things in the morning so that makes it easy to gather information. A lot of issues here in Wesdiel, can't say I'm surprised about it that much.
"Did you sleep okay?" Vae asks quietly from behind him.
He turns his head slightly towards her. "Yes I slept great, thank you for letting me sleep like that." Mason responds with a small smile across his face.
Her lap was really nice and soft to lay on so I couldn't have had a better night. The device didn't seem to have any issues overnight which is good since I was worried about it.
Vae joins him in peering out the window at the people below. "This is pretty normal for this place but I didn't think they had so much going on." Vae says with a bit of shock in her voice.
It's really not my job to focus on their issues since I have quite the journey ahead of me. I'll need to focus on becoming the legendary magus of the world so I can make the changes needed for everyone to survive.
I won't live in a world that's constantly putting down people without magic, no I won't do that.
The group gathered their things and continue to travel throughout the kingdom in search of any other supplies they need. They manage to do it without any problems but do notice that there's a lot more issues than they originally thought.
People are struggling with a lot of illegal activities in this kingdom and don't have any ways to handle it. The guards seem to be ignoring most of the problems since they get paid a nice sum of coin to do so.
The most known gang in Wesdiel is called Silvin, they are very well known for their brutality against people who don't want to cooperate. They are one of the biggest problems in Wesdiel but they get away with everything because they constantly bribe the guards.
Most guards don't mind the bribe since the kingdom struggles to pay them due to the high taxes. Something that was imposed on them after the constant problem with harboring non magic users.
This place is amazing to look at but the people here are all suffering a lot more than I expected. Vae told me a lot about the gang known as Silvin and I don't really know how to feel about them.
They definitely need to be dealt with somehow so I'd love to help with that since it's part of my quest. I wouldn't want to leave people helpless, even if I didn't originally want to help.
Mason takes a few quick glances before turning towards Vae and Aria. "I want to help take care of this gang, but I'll need help to do it." Mason says quietly.
"We were going to help either way silly." Aria chimes in with a bit of excitement in her voice.
"Then let's get to it." Mason says while beginning to walk in the direction he last saw them.
I'll do my best to avoid killing any of them since I've never really killed anyone before, it's not really in my nature. I want to do my best to avoid that at all costs so that this world can change for the better.
Killing everyone who does wrong won't teach anything to the others who do it, it'll only inspire more killers to bare arms.
"This is definitely one of their spots." Vae speaks up while drawing her weapon.
The spot we stopped at was definitely sketchy and a lot of the buildings here looked old with lots of damage to them. It wasn't a terrible spot for them to hide out but what's next I wonder?
I'm not really used to pursuing people and fighting them, my first real fight was against the beastmen. These guys mostly seem human like me so I'm not really sure what to do here.
Footsteps can be heard all around them as men block the path behind them and stand right before them. "You chose the wrong place to come to friends." A bulky man says while standing before Mason.
They all had your typical bandit attire on so I can't say I'm surprised but this guy is a little smaller than one of those beastmen. Yeah he's a little intimidating with his build, the long black beard he has, and even the giant battle axe in his arms. None of that will keep me from doing what I need to do here.
Mason cracks his knuckles as he looks up at the man. "No, this is the right place." Mason says while beginning to throw a right hook towards him.
The Man goes to catch his fist with his open hand, but before he can react Mason is already throwing a left hook with his other one. Pow!! Right across the man's Jaw, he had stunned him with the amount of force that was behind the punch.
All the other men looked around with a bit of panic as they waited to see if the man would recover from the punch. "I got this guy. Handle the rest." Mason instructs before throwing a few more right hooks.
He had let go of Mason's other hand which gave him the opportunity to throw left and right hand hooks without any issues. The Man had started to get bombarded with punches left and right before he finally dropped his weapon.
Dazed and even a bit confused about what happened, he tries to speak. "How are you that strong..? Magic enhancements..?" He questions while trying not to fall over.
He wishes that it was all magic but I won't tell him that he lost to some magic less guy.
