Chapter 8 - [ Chapter VII (7): "HOGWARTS HOUSE HEADS!" ]

[ Chapter VII (7): "HOGWARTS HOUSE HEADS!" ]

Felix who's cleaned thanks to a cleaning spell cast on him by Sprout smiled at seeing the scenery in front of him; Pomona Sprout on the side playing with one of the oversized Direwolf that is nearly the same height as her, already having earned their trust in a short amount of time.

Besides her is an overly excited small individual, wearing a complex traditional wizard robe; sitting on a pile of books, with the said individual observing the Direwolves with unmasked curiosity, and fascination.

And on the wooden chair not-so-far away is a grumpy witch in her mid 20s, observing one of the Direwolves beside her. Unmasked wariness for them being observed... But also wariness towards the Headmaster who's calmly smiling at them.

And she is... [ "Professor McGonagall is there something wrong with my face?" ]

Minerva McGonagall; the Professor for Transfiguration, and Flying. She is also the future head of the house for Gryffindor that is, unbeknownst to her also— just like the other two Professor; Flitwick for Ravenclaw, and Pomona for Hufflepuff.

With them hailing from that house, and also being familiar with the ins and outs; the values each house preaches, and also because they are a perfect fit for it. If not them, then who? A Bowtruckle? Absolutely not...

First of all he doesn't have a Bowtruckle. Second of all, they can't teach; and would probably poke his eyes out if he gets close to one, or in their inhabitants— he Sprout after all, he doesn't have her affinity with magical creatures.

And also with humans; witches to be more precise, as one is currently staring intensely at his face; so intense that she may accidentally dig a hole through his skull at this point. In which she might if provoked.

Placing her cup of tea down on the table, she then shook her head in response to Felix's question; anger restrained even though she wanted to claw the face of the man before her; [ "No, just curious." ]

[ "What do you want, Mr. Felix Harp?" ]

[ "And why did you call us here?" ]

The hostility in her voice is slightly evident, but more so does the curiosity. Since 78 days ago, exactly-exact, she who has been working for the British Ministry of Magic suddenly got transported into this world— with no way back.

And what first greeted her is the grinning face of this annoying mysterious man, seemingly dumb, seemingly clueless; she first thought of him as nothing but pathetic. Still does.

She especially hates it when she, and the others would be called suddenly without prompting. That man is always up to something weird, idiotic, but all his plans seemingly work without a hitch— he'll suddenly disappear, and then minutes later he'll be back with something weird.

Like a few weeks ago, he disappeared only to appear now. Without prompting, without an announcement of departure or arrival other than the, I'll be back letter that did nothing to ease their confusion.

And now, after a few weeks or so, he then appeared carrying Direwolves with him that is considered extinct back in her world. Messy, looked like he fought a thousand or so dark wizards, and got peed on by something.

What exactly did he do out there...?

McGonagall, Sprout, and even Flitwick who are confined within the Hogwarts Castle, and near its vicinity have never ventured out so far as comparable to Felix. That is because a restriction is placed on them, that stops them from going out, and anything foreign to enter inside without permission.

This unknown factor keeps them safe from what's going on outside— which includes Dragons, supposedly extinct Dinosaurs that they saw first-hand, and also unknown monsters that can easily crush a bolder or two.

And also it keeps them oblivious on how the prehistoric world is really— the only way they could interact with it is through their eyes that keep watch inside the invisible barrier, and also through Felix— the so-so Headmaster of "Hogwarts" that brings whatever or so things inside which includes carcasses, and also live animals to Sprout and Flitwick's happiness.

Back to the topic. Hearing the stoic McGonagall's question, Felix began to ponder... Does this have a hidden meaning, or what? Does she mean why they are here specifically?

Because I can't tell them about the System, that's a rule for us transmigrators. And also because I can't tell them that I grow stronger the more students Hogwarts teaches.

Sure they know Hogwarts would soon open up to students— though they don't know where the said students would be from, they didn't mind whoever is who as long as they can teach future aspiring wizards of witches.

They just know that they are the first Professors of Hogwarts... Which is a plain copy of their world's Hogwarts— a poorer copy may I say. But I just can't really tell them the truth at the moment; I probably don't have the balls for it, in the future, but not now.

I guess I could tell them a little bit, but not everyt- [ "What are you doing, Mr. Harp?" ]

 [ "Huh-?" ]

[ "What I meant is that, why did you call for us here... In this room. And we're you in a daze?" ]

 O-oh, so, not the...

 [ "Yeah... I know, I know... yeah." ]

Coughing into his hands, he tried to hide away the blush that was slowly creeping into his cheeks— embarrassment.

So he needs to announce about what happened outside in the past weeks, and also about the building of Owlery later— her suggestion in the first place, also about the progress of recruiting students outside. And finally because of their positions; let's start on that one.

[ "I'm here to announce something, can I please have your attention?" ]

He noticed Sprout and Flitwick on the side paused and looked at him. The Direwolves on the side who's now timid, and isn't hostile also stopped, to listen to what he was about to say. So does the grumpy-looking lady hiding behind a stoic expression.

[ "First of all, sorry about being gone for weeks. Sorry Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, and Professor Sprout; I'm really sorry." ]

He heard a snicker from the side, which was then masked with a stoic expression when he looked. He ignored this, and then continued; [ "Second of all, I would like to confirm all of your positions within our institution." ]

This gained the curiosity of McGonagall even more, who have been observing him very carefully. But what left the man's mouth caught her off guard, and even slightly shattered her stoic demeanor.

[ "Professor Minerva McGonagall: Professor of Transfiguration and Flying." ]

[ "Professor Filius Flitwick: Professor of Charms and Dueling." ]

[ "Professor Pomona Sprout: Professor of Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures." ]

[ "And me, uhh- Professor Felix Harp: Professor of Potions and Alchemy." ]

Straightening his slightly crooked back, taking a deep breath, and looking at each and every single individual in the room very carefully; Felix then continued.

[ "I know this may be a burden... But uhh- we're gonna be the House Heads i.e.Dean for House Gryffindor, House Hufflepuff, House Ravenclaw, and House Slytherin respectively." ]

[ "Before the school year starts in about... A month from now— 29 days to be exact." ]

 Bomb dropped.

First the stoicness of McGonagall shattered.

Second the curiosity of Flitwick rose before he ultimately stood up, clapping his hands in excitement.

Thirdly the timid Sprout doubted her own ears, mouthing the words she heard earlier to herself, not believing that she is fit for such a prestigious position.

And lastly because the inevitable school year is gonna start next month from now, with them not knowing who to teach, what to expect, and in not having prepared their teaching course yet— all three not even being halfway there in the moment...

So in their own way they all panicked, even Felix who looks calmed compared to the three. How is he gonna buy Owls with his suffering financials, what should the content of Hogwarts Letter be, and how many students do he have to visit before the school years starts.

All of such questions mixing and matching inside his head as he tries to put on a calm demeanor... Failing of course, when he finally realized that he is so screwed burdened with responsibilities he doesn't want.

 [ "I'm... I'm screwed." ]
