"The battle continues; this time, you attack first."
Darn it, I've been reading too many strange novels lately. I can't help but imagine odd scenarios. How annoying.
Hearing her words, Evan rolled his eyes at her.
"Lurantis, Grassy Terrain!"
If that's the case, then no more holding back.
With a single command, a vibrant green energy burst from Lurantis. In just an instant, the entire battlefield was covered in lush greenery.
"Mismagius, let's go!" Freya called out.
"Nasty Plot!"
"Mismagius~~!"
Mismagius's eyes glowed red, boosting its special attack.
"It's my turn now," Evan declared.
"Lurantis, Grassy Glide!"
"Lurantis!"
Evan, nearly caught up in a dramatic moment, quickly grounded himself. This wasn't some exaggerated duel; it was a Pokémon battle.
Lurantis's arms gleamed with golden light as it dashed forward. Its energy gathered into radiant blades before it slashed directly at Mismagius.
Freya frowned at the sight. What was with this Lurantis? Solar Blade? Could it really be used like this?
"Phantom Force!" she shouted.
"Mismagius!"
Mismagius pulled a playful face at Lurantis before disappearing into another dimension, causing Lurantis's attack to miss.
"Lurantis!" it growled, clearly frustrated. How dare the opponent escape like that?
Evan's commanding voice cut through the tension.
"Behind you, X-Scissor!"
Without hesitation, Lurantis spun and slashed with its glowing blades. Mismagius, emerging to attack, was caught off guard and took a direct hit.
Mismagius flew backward, visibly hurt.
"Tsk," Freya muttered, annoyed.
Evan seized the moment. He knew Lurantis excelled at both speed and attack precision. It would be a shame not to capitalize on this opportunity.
"Now, finish it with Solar Blade, full power!"
Lurantis's eyes sparkled with determination. Its arms radiated blinding light as it swung repeatedly, creating massive energy blades. The sheer force of the attack swallowed Mismagius entirely.
Freya's expression turned grim as she realized there wasn't enough time to issue a counter-command. Mismagius was engulfed by the energy blades.
A series of explosions echoed across the field.
When the dust settled, Mismagius lay fainted, seriously injured from the relentless assault.
Lurantis, having poured all its strength into the attack, emerged victorious. It was evident the damage was immense—enough to take down even elite-level Pokémon.
Evan stood tall. His Lurantis wasn't just fast and precise; it was devastatingly powerful when given an opening. He knew that catching an opponent off guard was key to Lurantis's success.
Freya clenched her fists in frustration. She could only imagine how much stronger her own team would need to be to match such a flawless strategy.
She looked at Mismagius, who had been defeated in an instant. Her face twisted into a grimace, as if she had just tasted something vile.
It felt like swallowing a bug. Completely disgusting.

"What's wrong with your Pokémon?" she demanded, glaring at Evan. "Who did you even get it from?"
Her eyes shifted toward Lurantis, her expression sinking into despair.
This Lurantis was ridiculous.

Sure, Shiny Pokémon were known to be rare and special, but this Lurantis was on another level entirely. It was too overpowered. If you didn't know its abilities beforehand, you'd be crushed in seconds.
No wonder Evan yelled to use Solar Blade with all its power. So that's what it was all about.
But still—was there something wrong with this Solar Blade? She'd never seen one like that before.
Hearing her remarks, Evan grinned smugly.
"Surprised?" he asked, clearly enjoying her reaction. "Honestly, I was blown away by Lurantis's talent, too."
He added with a playful tone, "But hey, it's my Pokémon, so it's fantastic, right?"
If this were his opponent's Pokémon, it'd be a nightmare. But since it was his, it was simply perfect.
Freya rolled her eyes at him and let out an exasperated sigh. Without wasting more time, she recalled Mismagius and readied her next Pokémon. Though frustrated, she couldn't help but respect Evan's skill.
"Gengar, the final act is yours!"
She threw her Poké Ball, and with a flash of light, a round, mid-level quasi-Elite Gengar appeared on the field.
"Gengar!"
As soon as Gengar emerged, it spotted Evan. Its eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Gengar~~!"
Gengar was thrilled to see Evan—it remembered him from before it evolved. Back when Freya was in school, Evan often helped take care of it.
"Long time no see, pal," Evan said with a smirk. "Looks like you've… gained some weight."
"Gengar!!"
Gengar puffed up angrily, clearly offended. Being called fat instantly killed its good mood.
Even Pokémon care about their appearance, okay?
Evan's grin widened as he recalled Lurantis.
"Alright, Pidgeot, it's your turn!"
With a swift motion, Evan released his next Pokémon, and a majestic Shiny Pidgeot appeared.
"Gengar?"
"Wha—?!"
Both Gengar and Freya jumped in surprise. The golden shimmer of the Shiny Pidgeot left them stunned.
The spectators nearby erupted into murmurs.
"Is this guy a Shiny collector or something? First a Shiny Lurantis, and now a Shiny Pidgeot? What luck is this?"
Even Freya was left speechless. Her astonishment quickly turned into frustration.
Evan smirked. "Don't be so shocked. It's just luck, you know."
He glanced at Pidgeot. "Alright, let's show them something even better. Mega Evolution!"
As Evan spoke, the Keystone around his neck began to glow, syncing with Pidgeot's Mega Stone.
The crowd watched in awe as Evan and Pidgeot resonated. A dazzling transformation enveloped Pidgeot, unleashing its Mega Evolution form.
The sight of the majestic, Mega-Evolved Pidgeot left Freya and the spectators in awe. Meanwhile, Evan couldn't help but savor the amazement radiating from those around him.
