Poof...! Bale's face grew hot.
'...Did my words sound that strange? It looks like Murakan will continue to make fun of me from now on. Damn it, I acted all bold, even declaring I'd sweep them away alone, but ended up looking like a fool.'
Bale's sense of impending danger had completely disappeared, leaving behind a feeling of embarrassment so intense that he felt like going crazy. It was a testament to how strong the two of them were. Even the 13 Demon Kings, empowered by Zito's true energy, seemed pale in comparison.
"Kak! Both Young Patriarch and Murakan have had similar moments when they got cocky!"
[No, there isn't. Even if there were, this little punk would say there isn't, for sure.]
Jin didn't respond and just shrugged his shoulders. In truth, it was somewhat accurate.
'I anticipated that they would join the battlefield, but damn it. Just when we were about to deal a decisive blow to the fragment of the Sun God…'
'This pressure... What is it? It feels like the power you'd expect from someone who's the Supreme Demon.'
'I now understand why the first defensive line crumbled so easily…'
Unlike Bale, the Demon Kings found the situation uncomfortable, as if a guillotine was hanging over their heads. Bale was maintaining a composed expression as if he hadn't been affected by the illusion magic.
What about the sealing magic and curses that were about to overwhelm Bale?
Murakan was in the midst of forcefully dispelling the sealing spells using his claws and wings, while Jin was dispelling the curses as if chasing away flies.
'This is insane! Are they really human? They're using such crude methods to nullify the sealing spells and curses that 13 demon kings had placed?'
'Calm down... We need to stay calm. Jin Runcandel and Murakan clearly retreated when the Chief Strategist used flesh in the past. The true energy that Lord Zito has strengthened us with now is at least on par with what it was on that day. It should be sufficient to give it a try....!'
The Demon Kings calculated their next moves.
Jin and Murakan smiled, looking down at their enemies.
[Does your master have any flesh left? I remember feeling a strong presence when Sakiel used flesh, but now it's just like a frog turning into a poisonous frog. Even your spells are pathetic. Ridiculous. I ripped them apart haphazardly because I was too lazy to solve the spell, and it's falling apart.]
"Murakan, how dare you insult Lord Zito's true energy...!"
Kwaaaaah!
Murakan let out a breath before the Demon King could finish speaking.
[Speaking one's mind freely during battle is something allowed only for the strong. So, from now on, you guys should keep your mouths shut and focus on resisting as much as you can. As for insults, what insults? You bastards, who can only resort to using the flesh, are even more insulting.]
Kwaaa, kwaaaaah huuuuung...!
Murakan let out dragon breaths repeatedly, releasing his shadow force. He was the protagonist who turned the first battle into a nightmare for the demons. His black chains spread out once again, engulfing the demons in all directions.
At the same time, lightning erupted from Jin. Each time the Illuminating Heart emitted light, lightning struck down, obliterating the rank and file troops without a trace.
He didn't use a separate technique; it was simply the lightning generated as he raised his energy to wield the Plutonian Reign Sword.
"What are you doing?"
The enemies thought Jin was mocking them for their confusion. However, Jin's question was directed not at the Demon Kings but at Bale.
[Huh? Me?]
"Yeah, you. You become stronger when you fight with a sword instead of using your authority. Are you going to keep being dazed just because we made fun of you? Start fighting already, and this time, I intend to break through at least the third defense line. Soon, more of our comrades will join us."
[Oh, uh, yeah. Let's fight.]
Bale once again confirmed that his golden power was fully released. Jin and Murakan had managed to overpower the energy of Zito that suppressed him.
Of course, Zito's energy wasn't completely extinguished. It just meant that the effects the Demon Kings had hoped for could never be realized.
Jin had gathered enough energy in the Illuminating Heart. Jin, as if he had no intention of prolonging the battle, immediately executed his ultimate technique.
Plutonian Swordsmanship Battle God Technique 10th sword
Plutonian Reign Sword – Open
[Those who were in the first defense line and you guys alike, you'll die under an overwhelming sword.]
Jin's voice, even more resounding, overwhelmed the battlefield. The surging aura that spread from him had already replaced the sky and the sea.
Just facing that aura head-on caused the rank and file troops' eyes to burst, and their bodies burned just by facing the battle god technique head-on. The speed at which their bodies caught fire was faster than their attempts to groan.
"Kraaaaah!"
The higher-ranking demons, at least those equivalent to commanders, could withstand the lightning for a moment. However, for the most part, it was only a meaningless struggle of a few seconds.
The golden authority, shadow force, and lightning combined to create an irresistible catastrophe.
No one came to rescue the demons caught in this disaster. Unlike during the first battle, there was no possibility of other Demon Kings providing support.
Not only here, but the entire Grosch Castle was under attack. Sakiel was relentlessly summoning demons from the headquarters to replenish the forces being consumed much faster than anticipated. She had no time to survey the battlefield or even the capacity to command.
"Lord Zito's true energy is lost!"
"W-We need more sacrifices. I'll be the sacrifice..."
The higher-ranking demons volunteered to be sacrifices, barely managing to throw themselves near the Demon Kings. They intended to become catalysts for the Demon Kings' consecutive dark magic.
Their fanatical devotion to Zito had reduced them to such insignificant beings.
Jin put an end to them before they could become sacrifices. It wasn't something he did intentionally; it just naturally happened as long as he didn't lose sight of the Demon Kings. Where Jin's gaze fell, that was where the thunderbolts accumulated the most dreadfully.
Among them, the relatively weaker Demon Kings managed to withstand his gaze for a moment, but showing any vulnerability in front of Jin meant imminent death.
Even with Murakan and Bale present, there was no chance of survival for them by some miracle or stroke of luck. If they hastily adjusted their positions, the thunderbolts had already torn their bodies apart, and the moment they realized their impending deaths, both black chains and sword energy tore their corpses apart.
In an instant, four Demon Kings perished, and nearly half of the forces disappeared. In terms of human casualties, it was equivalent to the destruction of several countries in just about thirty minutes.
It was undoubtedly overwhelming, an onslaught that couldn't be called a battle.
The second battle was unfolding in the same way as the previous one.
[Don't resent me too much. In some ways, I might be helping you.]
"What nonsense are you babbling...!"
Telbit shouted. Despite being pushed to his limits, he was trying to inflict even a slight blow on the three of them by using his powers desperately. All of his attempts were turning into failures, though.
[In my eyes, death seems better than a life subordinated to Zito. Unfortunately, this may be difficult for you to understand.]
"Ugh!"
Telbit's eyes burst out. It was because he tried to forcefully protect the formation, not knowing that the Demon King who was assisting him right next to him had just died.
The Demon Kings might have been better off not bringing Zito's flesh from the beginning.
If that were the case, even if they died, Zito wouldn't permanently lose that much power.
'I had this thought earlier, but I can't quite figure out Zito's intentions. Based on the situations that have unfolded so far, it almost feels like... he's deliberately giving false hope to his subordinates by using his flesh. Then, his subordinates either die or don't, and he doesn't seem to care either way.'
Or maybe he wants his subordinates to suffer as well.
Suddenly, that thought crossed his mind. Perhaps Zito's intent to inflict "pain" extended beyond just the human world.
Now, there were eight Demon Kings left.
Even when there were 13 of them earlier, there was no hope, so it was obvious that they had no chance now. Moreover, Jin, Murakan, and Bale didn't show the slightest sign of exhaustion.
There was no need to waste strength trying to end a fight that they already won anyway. It wasn't just these three who could overwhelm such formidable enemies; there were others too in the alliance.
Before facing Paellito or other Demon Kings of his caliber, it was wise to conserve the strength.
Jin began to retract the Plutonian Reign Sword.
Even without a high-level sword like the Plutonian Reign sword, there was no doubt they could eliminate the remaining enemies.
More importantly, it was time for the other superhumans of the Vamel Alliance to appear on the second defense line.
Wuuung!
Jin felt a unique vibration of spatial jump. Behind Jin, the Red owl appeared.
"Young patriarch, I brought a stray cat I found on the way. It seems quite skilled in combat. It actually seems like it knows what it's doing."
"Hoo, Vanessa. You're always doing too much. Can't you stop with that stray cat talk? Besides, the enemies might hear it now. I have my pride too, you know."
It was Vanessa and Hedo.
"What if it's embarrassing? Anyway, none of them will survive to remember your nickname. Isn't that right, young patriarch?"
Vanessa showed a cold smile and drew her sword.
"That's right."
"Runcandel Knight Vanessa Olsen, will begin the annihilation."
Jin nodded in agreement, and Vanessa's sword energy swept across the battlefield with frightening force. Hedo, too, began his relentless assault with his sword.
In this manner, the superhumans of the Vamel Alliance would continue to be deployed to the battlefield. Once Jin, Murakan, and others broke through the defense line, the defensive wall would advance accordingly.
Furthermore, the superhumans weren't just being added to the frontlines.
On the right defense line, where Runcandel and Zipfel's forces were entangled to some extent, a white dimensional portal was opening.
"I heard on the communication device that the youngest is breaking through the front defensive line quite vigorously. But this side is still quiet."
"It's going to get noisy from now on, 3rd flagbearer."
Luntia, Luna, and Syris were emerging from the white dimensional portal. When they saw Zipfel's fleet deployed on the battlefield, they shrugged their shoulders.
"Our orders are to avoid direct confrontation with Zipfel as much as possible, but with this many battleships, it's going to be a hassle," Luna said, eyeing the fleet.
Currently, the right defense line's breakthrough operation of Zipfel's forces was being commanded by the Fleet Commander, Kun. Kun was also observing the three of them.
"You are Kun, right? Or something like that," Luna was the first to speak.
"Yes, that's correct, White Whale."
"Listen carefully, Kun. Since it's your first time here, I'll give you a friendly warning. I'm about to break through the defense line. So, if you don't want to lose your battleships needlessly in the aftermath, you better clear them out right now."
