Chapter 30: "The Price of Survival"
To be honest, Xiao Mei was quite an attractive woman.
A beautiful, s*xy woman, with tears in her eyes, pleading to exchange her body for food. Who could resist that?
Su Chen, apparently, couldn't resist either.
He looked Xiao Mei up and down, speaking casually,"Seems like you don't look as good as before?"
Xiao Mei froze for a moment, then quickly realized what Su Chen meant.She had fallen for it!
Internally, she couldn't help but feel pleased, but on the outside, she feigned embarrassment and said,"I haven't been eating properly, so of course, I don't look as good… but if Brother Su feeds me, I'll get prettier again!"
"Alright, so how do you propose to exchange?"Su Chen asked with a smirk.
"I want a month's worth of food. During this month, I'll do whatever you want,"Xiao Mei said confidently, thinking her offer was more than generous.
After all, she was a beautiful woman—exchanging a month's worth of food for her was a good deal, right?
But Su Chen, hearing her offer, only laughed mockingly.
"A couple of days ago, Zhang Mingyuan came to me, offering shares in Mingyuan Group in exchange for a month's worth of supplies. I rejected him,"Su Chen said, his voice dripping with sarcasm."Do you think you're special?"
Xiao Mei's heart skipped a beat, and then anger rose within her.
She was shocked that Su Chen rejected Zhang Mingyuan's offer of shares in such a large company, and she was furious at the way he was speaking to her.
But she had no choice but to swallow her pride and keep going.
Her mind raced, and she quickly came up with another plan."What about this, Brother Su? Let me stay in the RV. If you provide for me, I'll do whatever you ask!"
Su Chen paused for a moment, then smiled.
"That sounds pretty good,"Su Chen replied, still lounging casually."But before you come in, there's one thing you need to do."
"What's that?"Xiao Mei asked, a little anxious, instinctively glancing to the side.
However, the dim light didn't reveal Zhang Mingyuan or anyone else.
"Kneel down."
"W-what?"Xiao Mei's eyes widened in disbelief.
She hadn't expected Su Chen to make such a request!
"You know, I said a few days ago that unless you kneel and beg me, I won't give you any food,"Su Chen said, still relaxed as he rested his legs on the dashboard."I'm not the kind of person to go back on my word, right?"
Xiao Mei gritted her teeth, a surge of anger bubbling inside her.How could Su Chen ask her to kneel? Was he serious?
Even Zhang Mingyuan, with all his interest in her, would always be polite and respectful. What made Su Chen think he could make such demands?
Just as Xiao Mei fumed silently, Zhang Mingyuan suddenly appeared like a ghost from the shadows.
He gave her a firm nod, urging her to comply.
Xiao Mei had no choice but to bite her lip and reluctantly kneeled on the ground."Please, give me food."
"Good girl!"Su Chen said, his eyes narrowing with pleasure. But then, a thought seemed to occur to him.
"Though, I'm a bit old-fashioned,"Su Chen added, feigning hesitation."We're not married, and we're not even dating. A man and a woman alone in one room—don't you think that's a bit much?"
Xiao Mei almost choked on her anger.She had knelt down, and Su Chen still wasn't satisfied?
What was he waiting for? Was he even a man?No wonder he and Liu Ling'er never went further, despite dating for so long.
But considering the big picture, Xiao Mei decided to try again."Times are different now, Brother Su. What's wrong with that? You can't be so traditional!"She smiled as sweetly as she could,"Besides, you and Ling'er weren't immediately in a relationship either. Love grows with time, right?"
Hearing her words, Su Chen seemed a bit swayed, but still hesitated."But you're Ling'er's best friend. Wouldn't this hurt her?"
"She dumped you! How would us being together hurt her?"Xiao Mei pressed, growing more impatient."Time will tell, and we'll grow closer."
Though she had earlier entertained the idea of betraying Zhang Mingyuan to be with Su Chen, now, after seeing how hesitant he was, she quickly dismissed the thought.
"Alright then,"Su Chen finally said, standing up."Let's go through the side."
He pressed a button and with a soft click, the side door of the RV opened.
Xiao Mei looked puzzled.Why not just enter through the front?
But with no time to think, she rushed towards the side door.
Seeing this, Zhang Mingyuan grinned and followed.
Liu Ling'er, however, frowned slightly, a sense of unease growing in her chest.
As soon as Xiao Mei entered, the door slammed shut behind her, startling everyone.
"What the hell?!"Zhang Mingyuan cursed, his expression darkening.
"He's being cautious. He won't make it easy for us,"Yang Zhen comforted, trying to calm the group.
"Don't worry, Zhang Shao. Once Xiao Mei tires him out, we can just go in,"Yang Zhen assured him.
They had no choice but to wait outside.
Inside, however, Xiao Mei found herself trapped in a small bathroom.
"Brother Su, what's going on?"Xiao Mei asked nervously, trying to hide her unease with a forced smile.
"You're too dirty. This is a luxury vehicle worth millions. Do you think I'll let you ruin it?"Su Chen's voice came from the other side of the door.
"Well… then I'll take a shower?"Xiao Mei hesitated, feeling humiliated.
She reached for the shower, but there was no water.
"Why isn't there any water?"She asked in confusion.
"Don't worry, Xiao Mei. What's the point of one person showering? Why don't we shower together?"Su Chen's voice was calm, as if he were offering a simple solution.
"Then… what are you waiting for?"Xiao Mei eagerly responded, ready to continue with her plan.
But when she opened the drawer beneath the sink, she found a pair of handcuffs inside.
"To be safe, you should handcuff yourself first,"Su Chen instructed from the other side.
