Chapter 6 - Far from over

Lumina Gallery, owned by Mr. Lucas Roberts, was a renowned art space in the heart of the city. The gallery's interior was a masterclass in elegance, with sleek white walls, polished marble floors, and strategically placed spotlights that highlighted the artworks on display. The walls were adorned with an impressive collection of art pieces, each one carefully curated to showcase the owner's impeccable taste.

Ivy's office, located on the upper floor of the gallery, was a reflection of her own artistic style. The walls were painted a deep, rich blue, and the furniture was a mix of modern and vintage pieces. A large, wooden desk sat in the center of the room, covered in papers, art books, and various knick-knacks. Ivy sat in her plush, velvet chair, casually scrolling through her phone with a satisfied smile on her face.

As a renowned artist, Ivy was well-known for her unique style and creative vision. She had always been passionate about art, and her passion was evident in every piece she created. Many of the artworks on display at the gallery were created by Ivy herself, and she took great pride in knowing that her work was appreciated by art lovers from all over the city. But beneath her artistic persona, Ivy harbored a deep-seated resentment towards her sister, Jasmine. As the eldest, Jasmine was supposed to head their father's gallery, but she had never been interested in the art world. Instead, she had pursued a career in acting, leaving Ivy to take over the gallery.

Ivy had always felt like she was living in Jasmine's shadow, and she resented her sister so much for it. She had always eyed what belonged to Jasmine - her fame, her fiancé and even her life. And now, it seemed like Ivy had finally succeeded in taking everything that mattered to Jasmine. Her career was failing, and the public seemed to be against her. Ivy's smile grew wider as she scrolled through the blogs, reading the negative comments about her sister.

But then, she stumbled upon a headline that made her pause. "Jasmine Roberts Ties the Knot with Sebastian Anderson!" The article was accompanied by pictures of Jasmine and Sebastian, looking happy and in love. Ivy's eyes widened in surprise as she read the article. How? And what was with the pictures from last night? Ivy's mind was racing with questions. How did the man in the pictures turn out to be Mr. Anderson? She had paid a lot of money to ruin her sister's reputation, so how come?

She picked up her phone to make a call but changed her mind. 'Has he being caught? Jasmine wouldn't know that she had tried to ruin her reputation, would she?.' Elias wouldn't dare open his mouth and say she was behind it. She had paid him handsomely!.

She suddenly felt cold. How could this have happened?. She had just broken off her sister's engagement yesterday, how did she get married to a big shot overnight?.

The public opinion had shifted, with many people congratulating Jasmine on her marriage. But some hard-headed haters were still criticizing her, saying that she shouldn't have been making out in public, even if it was with her husband. Ivy's eyes scanned the comments, watching as Jasmine's fans defended her against the haters.

"What's wrong with a married couple making out?" one fan wrote. "It's not like they're doing anything wrong."

"Yeah, get over it," another fan commented. "They're happy, and that's all that matters."

Ivy's expression darkened as she read the comments. This wasn't what she had planned. She had wanted Jasmine to be alone, struggling to revive her career while being single. No one would want to have anything to do with an immoral actress with a failed career, so she had thought. But now, it seemed like Jasmine had found a new lease on life. Ivy's eyes narrowed, her mind already racing.

Ivy looked tense and pale as she sat in her office, her mind racing with thoughts about the new development. How did Jasmine manage to marry Sebastian Anderson? Sebastian was known to be a very private person who didn't like to have anything to do with women. He rarely showed up in public, and because of this, many people didn't know his face. They just knew his name because his family was very wealthy and influential in Nova Haven City. There were even rumors that he was gay.

Ivy closed her eyes lightly, pressed her temple trying to calm herself down . She wondered if Jasmine had already found out that she was behind the recent events. She couldn't let Jasmine suspect anything. She brushed the thought off again. She had been careful enough covering her tracks. The man she had sent has received a heavy sum of money, he can't sly her.

Just as she was lost in thought, Jasmine walked into the office, jolting Ivy back to reality. Ivy immediately got up and greeted Jasmine, putting on a fake smile. "Congratulations, sister, on your marriage," she said, her voice dripping with insincerity. "You really have a knack in surprising people, don't you? I mean, who would have thought that you'd snag someone like Sebastian Anderson?"

Jasmine's expression remained calm and collected, but her eyes flashed with anger. She was tired of seeing this fake smile. She felt like snapping her neck right then and there. But she was calm, she wasn't worth her anger.

"You are really something dear little sister." She said with a smile. "Anyways, I'm not here to listen and applaud your shenanigans. It's time you drop the act and go for what you really want Ivy".

" I don't understand what you are trying to say. I'm happy to see you're doing well, Jasmine," she said, her voice still dripping with insincerity. "I just want what's best for you. And marrying Sebastian Anderson certainly seems like a good move. After all, He's wealthy, influential...he's a great catch." she said, maintaining her fake smile.

Jasmine ignored her wondering how she had managed to keep up with her all these years and turned to leave. She suddenly stopped in her tracks " thank you for picking up my trash. You've done a great job clearing out people that doesn't deserve a space in my life " she said, her voice laced with venom.

With that, Jasmine turned and walked out of the office, leaving Ivy looking pale and shaken. Ivy's eyes narrowed as she watched her sister leave. She knew she had to be careful. Jasmine wasn't going to let her get away with everything. She had a feeling that her sister was going to make her pay for what she had done. She knew that this was far from over.
