His grip still clenched the hilt of his massive zanpakutō—blackened with the weight of finality. His breath was slow, heavy. Not from exhaustion… but from everything he had endured.
At his feet, sprawled and unconscious, was Azashiro Sōya—bloodied, broken, defeated. The monster who once dared to call himself Kenpachi.
Shunsui stepped forward, his straw hat soaked with rain, a bottle of sake in one hand, his usual smile nowhere to be found.
"He fought like a beast, I'll give him that," he muttered, looking down at Azashiro. "But even beasts bleed."
Behind him, Ukitake stood with solemn pride. His pale face was calm, eyes on Arthur—eyes filled with respect.
On the far side of the ruins, Mohit watched silently, arms folded. His face unreadable under the weight of what just happened. But in his heart… he knew. Arthur had done the impossible.
Then, Shunsui raised his voice.
"Let it be known!" His voice echoed through the silence, drawing the attention of the battered remaining members of Squad 11 and the few officers who had come to bear witness.
"The rebellion ends here. The former Kenpachi… has fallen."As supervising captain, with the approval of Captain Ukitake… I, Shunsui Kyōraku, declare Arthur as the new Kenpachi—the Eleventh Kenpachi."
He paused for a heartbeat.
"And the new Captain of Squad 11."
Arthur, still standing at the very center of it all, his head bowed, eyes half-closed, was trembling—not from fear, but sheer exhaustion. The weight of the moment, the fight, the scars… everything pressed down on his shoulders like a mountain. His breath grew shallow. His knees buckled slightly.
And just before he could fall—Mohit appeared beside him, steady as a shadow.
He caught Arthur with one arm and said with a smirk, "Not yet, my friend. It's not time to take a nap."
Arthur let out a slow, raspy chuckle—too tired to speak loudly, but just enough strength to whisper.
"I'm too tired to do this… Why don't you take me to Squad 4?"
Mohit grinned. "Oh, I'll take you there. But don't think you're getting out of paperwork just because you're Kenpachi now."
Arthur grumbled something under his breath, raising his nine-foot blade with Mohit's support—just enough to lift it into the air. The crowd erupted again, louder, the chanting of his name now mixing with Squad 11 officers slamming their fists on the ground, howling with pride.
Above them on the rooftop, Shunsui tilted his hat, watching the scene with a deep breath. "Another storm begins…"
Ukitake, beside him, nodded softly. "Yes… but this time, the storm is ours."
As the crowd kept cheering, Arthur, half-conscious but smiling faintly, let his sword drop on his shoulder and allowed Mohit to guide him off the battlefield.
