Chapter 3 - Satisfied Or Dissatisfied?

CASTIEL'S POINT OF VIEW}

Loud places were awful; I enjoyed the solitude of my room or the warmth of Warren's embrace, but I also had to fit in or risk being branded as an oddball.

As I entered the bustling party with teammates by my sides, I bit back a grunt at the ear-piercing music that penetrated my eardrum. I wished I could turn back, but I didn't have much time to ponder about it before my wrist was snatched and I was shoved onto a sofa in the middle of the room with two girls dangling on my arms.

"Hey Castiel, I've been expecting you."

I smirked as I turned to my right to hear the sickeningly pleasant voice. "Hey, Mara."

Rapidly, the luscious smile on her face diminished, replaced by a frown while the girl on my left arm chuckled. "It's Maya." She rolled her eyes and took a glass of booze from the table in front of us, holding it to me. "Have a drink, you'll like it."

I doubted it, but I would drink it anyhow. When I took a sniff, it was enough to get me inebriated, then I took a sip. "I don't want to become drunk yet. The night is still young."

She smiled and held my face. "You're right, we have plenty on our table." Then she pressed her lips into mine. I fisted my hands not to push her away as I tasted the freshness of vodka on her lips—the kiss made my stomach twist.

I noticed eyes watching us out of the corner of my eye, so I placed my hand behind her head and seized control, intensifying the kiss and only letting go when she gasped for air. I let her go, licked my tongue against my lips, and grinned at her fragmented state.

"Fuck!" She sputtered, and before I knew it, she had thrown her leg over my thighs, straddling them, and her arms were over my neck. "I can't wait any longer. Castiel, I want you to have me. I've been dying for this day."

"Yeah, Castiel, you should take her to bed already!" One of my teammates joined in.

"Or you'd prefer a threesome." The girl to my left chipped in.

I tsked, hoisted her off of me, and returned her to her former seat. "Don't be in a rush Margret, we have the whole night to ourselves."

"It's Maya." Again, she rectified. "And I will wait. How about a game of truth or dare?" She sat properly, eventually turning her attention to the rest of my teammates, who were sucking the faces of cheerleaders.

"How about we just play dare?"

I attempted to tone them down as I raised my glass of wine to my lips and took a sip, but my gaze was drawn to a figure entering the room. I could identify that black hoodie anywhere, with silver locks of hair poking out.

"What is he doing here?"

Seemed like I wasn't the only one who noticed because every pair of eyes in the circle was watching him. He wasn't paying attention in the room as he walked up the stairs of the house and quickly disappeared. I awkwardly took another sip of my drink.

Margret sprang to her feet. "This is my party; who invited that freak? He is not supposed to be here." She tightened her fists, ran after Warren, and disappeared up the stairs.

I tried to remain calm as I watched the stairs, hoping that Warren or Margret would soon descend, but ten minutes passed and there was still no sign of them, and that was how long it took for me to lose my patience. I spilled my drink and looked at my pals. "Got a condom?"

They smirked. "I knew you wouldn't last long."

I refrained from rolling my eyes as a condom was stretched; I grabbed it, sprang from my seat, and dashed toward the stairwell.

Warren stepped out of one of the rooms as I arrived in the corridor. I approached him swiftly, grabbed his wrist, and tugged him along with me, thankfully finding an empty room. After letting go of his hand, I shut the door behind me and turned to face him.

"What are you doing here?" I grilled rather impatiently.

"I came to see a friend." He responded calmly while removing his sweater, displaying his silver hair.

I raised an eyebrow. "A friend?"

"Yeah, she's Maya's sister." He stared at me with his piercing silver eyes and proceeded when I didn't respond a few seconds later. "Perhaps, you thought I came here to cheat."

My lips split and instantly, I was shaking my head and waving my hands in front of my face. "No, no, that's not what I thought. I was just surprised to see you here, that's all."

His face remained empty as he stuck his hands into his pocket. "I saw earlier…you were having fun. Perhaps, you didn't come looking for me but Maya," his eyes trailed down and dwelled on the condom in my hand. I quickly plowed it inside my pocket.

I gobbled the clot in my throat and replied. "That's just to make them believe I was heading up to have sex."

"Are you?"

"Of course not!" I responded fast, then sighed with my chin dropping. "I know you are disappointed with me but-"

"I am not dissatisfied with you." He cut me off.

I looked up to meet his eyes. "Why does it feel like you are?"

His expression stayed stoic. "There are some things you just can't control, Castiel. It's either you find a way out of it or go with the flow."

He didn't have to say it or show it, I knew he was disappointed with me. Sluggishly my head dropped but his finger hooked under my chin and raised my gaze to meet his.

"You don't have to worry about what I feel or think. I will always be by your side, waiting patiently for the day you are ready to face the world and I will support you all the way."

"What if it takes many years?"

He softly brushed his thumb on my cheek. "We have our whole life, don't we? Take your time, peach."

I was supposed to feel assured, however his words did nothing to stop the bleeding in my chest, it only widened the wound. The terrible gut wrenching feeling I had walked in with only intensified.

He tilted his head. "Don't think too much, just do whatever you believe is best for you, and what's best for you is what's best for me." He moved in and pressed a kiss at the corner of my mouth as his hand dropped from my face. A second later, he was withdrawing and without another word, he walked out of the room, leaving me feeling worse than I already did.
