This is the first time, after registering, that Charlotte truly feels the existence of the fact that they are a married couple.
His fingers feel like hot coals, slowly roaming over her smooth, creamy skin. In her half-dazed, half-awake state, she recalls a sentence she once read in a book: If you're not daring enough to bear joy and sorrow, what meaning is left for the soul, what is life called then?
Life should include attempts, including matters of love between men and women. But she had only known this man for three days; theoretically, he was still almost a stranger to her. She knew almost nothing about him, yet such intimate relations were about to occur. It didn't seem sensible, but the faint sensations stirring in her body and soul were calling her to surrender and enjoy...
"My judgment has never been wrong, has it...?" The man's deep, hoarse voice whispered into her ear. His large hands gently cupped, feeling the soft and smooth fullness that could drive one to the brink.
Charlotte's mind felt as though molten lava had been poured into it, heating her to the point where even her breath threatened to burn.
Her tongue felt numb, unable to say anything, and the sounds she made were as faint as a kitten's mew.
In relationships between men and women, there is inherently an imbalance. Some are born with all the advantages, like Amir, while others can only meekly accept, like she was now, inexperienced and unable to resist.
Just as the entire room felt filled with gasoline, ready to ignite, she heard two soft knocks on the door.
The sound wasn't loud, but it startled Charlotte slightly. With a weak hand, she pushed Amir softly and whispered, "Someone's knocking..."
"Hmm..." The man's warm breath sprayed by her ear, even his nasal sound was incredibly alluring.
Didn't expect someone to confess so soon? Amir drew a deep breath and slowly withdrew his hand from her smooth, creamy skin. "Get some rest early; you don't have to wait for me." He then stood up and walked towards the door.
Such passion, like a summer downpour, comes quickly and goes just as fast. Apart from the burning marks left on the body to remind her of what had just happened, it all seemed like a dream, like a strange dream with icy rivers, iron horses, enchanting scenery, and his tempting, conquering aura...
Compared to the enchanting scenes upstairs, the atmosphere in the downstairs hall had already become tense. The large space was filled with bubbles clinging tightly together, creating an almost suffocating pressure with each breath.
All eyes were on the elevator, which wasn't moving. Wasn't Amir coming down?
There was no movement from the elevator, but the steady sound of footsteps came from the stairs, one step at a time, as if treading on everyone's heart, making one feel overwhelmed.
Amir walked with his hands in his pockets, the white shirt with two buttons undone, revealing a small patch of firm and alluring chest. His dark wheat-colored skin looked as if frequently kissed by the sun. His eyes deep, and calm, his high nose and thin lips formed a perfect curve. Flawless, or if there were any flaws, it was that he was too composed, composed to the point that it seemed devoid of any human warmth.
Ava stood there, her face turning pale as she watched this man slowly descend.
Coming down the stairs, most people now were incredibly lazy, and the luxurious and imposing staircase in the Hallow Family's living room was rarely used. Everyone took the elevator, even Flix Hallow and his wife, who lived on the second floor. When Amir descended the stairs, everyone found it strange.
"Atlas, I'm heading upstairs to rest," Flix glanced at his son and then walked towards the elevator, with Kinsley following behind him into the elevator.
Ever since handing over the company's entire authority to Amir, he had stopped caring about anything, especially not wanting to get involved in matters like these.
"Did you drug her?" Amir's voice gently rippled through the air like a layer of cold fog, rapidly spreading out and enveloping everyone.
Ella responded expressionlessly, "I did it, it's got nothing to do with Ava."
"How could it have nothing to do with her?" Amir sat down, his tone calm but still causing a shiver in those present.
Flix did not wish to get involved in these matters either, so he stood up and entered the elevator, completely ignoring Ava's pleading gaze. Matters like this could not be helped, and they understood this all too well.
Ella would be gutted, at least, if not worse. Flix felt irritated as if thousands of ants were crawling over him, but he truly couldn't intervene. Ayla's face bore a barely noticeable smile as she followed.
Amir watched as his parents left, remaining silent with his legs crossed, looking as if he were watching a show.
"I did it; if you have any issues, direct them at me." Ella didn't understand what Amir's words meant. She had drugged; she already admitted it, what more could he want?
"Why did you drug her? Afraid Charlotte will get pregnant?" Amir's eyes narrowed slightly, and his voice started turning dangerous.
"I won't do it next time." Ella hadn't expected Charlotte to react so strongly to the drug, getting discovered immediately. She'd thought that with successive administrations for two years, it might prevent any children, fearing an emergency; she had doubled the dosage. Yet, the woman was so delicate that drinking that bowl of soup had caused a scene, catching her unprepared.
"My mom said she won't do it again, Atlas, let this go." Ava couldn't ignore Amir's slowly dimming eyes, which seemed as if they were sweeping a whirlwind that made people tremble, but she couldn't not help her mother.
"Next time? As agreed back in the day, after Ava marries into the Hallow Family, past matters are not to be mentioned. This time, you've broken the rules." Amir said coldly. The housekeeper had brought over a cup of green tea, placing it by Amir's right hand. The pale green tea was lightly steaming. Amir took a sip, then raised his dense eyelashes to look directly at Ella and Ava, speaking clearly, "Leave the Hallow Family yourself, and never return."
Ella felt a jolt in her heart; she hadn't expected Amir to actually drive her away, so heartless it was.
"I don't agree; it's definitely something Charlotte said, right? Let her come down. I want to ask her; she just took some medicine, is it worth making such a fuss over? Bring her down..." Hearing that Amir wanted to drive her mom away, Ava jumped up and shouted loudly.
Amir's lips tightened, setting aside the warm green tea in his hand, standing up slowly, his towering presence pressing forward like a mountain...
