Chapter 4 - First Book: Ch 4

"This is strange!.."

Zeus was staring at the first-level energy storage sigil with deep confusion.

As soon as he finished drawing the sigil, he began to feel the energy in the room gathering around it, and gradually, Zeus could see the sigil filling up with concentrated energy from bottom to top.

Zeus continued observing this phenomenon until the energy storage process in the sigil completed exactly ten minutes later.

On the other hand, Zeus noticed that the metal disk was starting to be subjected to a kind of pressure that was familiar to him—

The same kind of pressure that any physical object experiences when connected to artificial energy circuits, especially combat robots and energy weapons.

Every material can endure a certain threshold of this pressure.

Zeus estimated that the metal disk in his hand could handle three more energy storage sigils.

There was excitement in his heart—and even more confusion.

This method of drawing energy circuits was completely different from what he knew, and an interesting detail was that the sigil worked one hundred percent effectively, even though it was merely hand-drawn by a human.

Known energy paths require complex devices to create and apply to materials, and they also need a deep understanding of physics and mathematics to direct the paths and produce specific effects—

Such as certain energy paths that transfer energy to a robot's outer armor, making its atoms more cohesive and, as a result, significantly more durable for a temporary period.

Zeus wanted to quickly tell his sister about this revolutionary discovery, but a sudden thought dulled his excitement and drove him into deep contemplation.

The sigil wasn't something Zeus had ever heard of, and there was a shroud of mystery surrounding the entire matter—especially the incident that caused him to lose his memory.

According to what he'd been told, Zeus had disappeared for several days without anyone knowing anything about his whereabouts. Suddenly, his family received a call informing them that Zeus had been admitted to the hospital just an hour earlier in a critical condition.

This deep mystery led Zeus's siblings and family to place him under tight surveillance temporarily while they launched an investigation into the matter.

Overall, Zeus didn't know whether their investigation had yielded anything so far, and he didn't want to remain weak—especially after the death of his brother Sebastian long ago and the disappearance of his father and grandfather.

Although Zeus didn't know the cause behind all of this, he suspected that the strange sigils he discovered might be connected to it.

Zeus returned to his study desk and began observing the sigil on the disk.

Something crossed his mind… without overthinking, he decided to experiment in search of answers about these sigils.

He drew the kinetic energy sigil on one side of the disk, noting that the energy storage sigil was drawn right in the center.

Zeus noticed that the kinetic sigil didn't react in any way.

"This is strange. Did I draw it wrong!? … No… it looks exactly like I imagined it… Could it be that it doesn't absorb energy from the air but needs to be directly powered? … If these were energy circuits, that would make sense… but how am I supposed to power it?"

There was nothing in his memory about how to do this, but a simple idea occurred to Zeus, and he decided to try it.

The energy storage sigil had five nodes spaced equally around its edges, and the kinetic energy sigil had a single node in its center.

Zeus connected one of the five nodes to the single node of the other sigil by drawing a simple line between them.

And indeed, the kinetic energy sigil lit up, and Zeus observed the energy for a while and discovered that the kinetic sigil caused half the pressure on the material compared to the energy storage sigil.

This meant Zeus could place eight kinetic energy sigils—or let's say six, given that there was already one energy storage sigil—on the metal disk.

But one question remained unanswered: What exactly does the kinetic energy sigil do, considering the storage sigil stores and distributes energy?

Zeus closely examined the kinetic sigil, searching for an answer, and noticed that inside the sigil were three empty paths, each leading to a small triangle with a word written around it in a strange language Zeus had never seen or heard before.

Yet oddly, he felt he understood them. The first word represented the concept of "Continuous," the second "Instant Full Discharge," and the third "Intermittent."

Zeus decided to connect the center point of the sigil to the first triangle representing "Continuous," and as soon as he completed the link, the sigil began to glow faintly and new lines started to float above it.

There was an empty space in the middle with a long sentence written above it in the same mysterious language… but Zeus somehow understood it to mean: "Define the type of movement."

"And how the hell am I supposed to do that?"

Feeling dizzy, Zeus decided to simply write what he wanted in the known Union language.

Sure enough, his words started transforming into that strange language, and after a brief moment, the illustrations above the sigil disappeared, and Zeus saw the disk start spinning—five full rotations per second.

Because what Zeus had written was: "Spinning Disk."

Zeus grabbed the disk, feeling its resistance and its urge to rotate. He managed to pin it down with some effort using his foot and then turned his attention to the energy storage sigil—

He realized it had consumed only a tiny fraction of its energy in the few seconds that had passed.

The question lingering in Zeus's mind now was: How do I stop this thing from spinning?

As soon as he willed the disk to stop, it suddenly halted.

Zeus was baffled and wondered how to make it spin again—and when he tried, the disk suddenly started spinning.

"Wait, what the hell! Do these sigils activate and deactivate based on my intent? Damn, this is incredible!!"
