Jenn's POV
I was sleeping peacefully after Fajr namaz when my phone started ringing. Half-asleep, I picked it up without even checking who was calling.
"Hello," I said annoyingly.
"Hey Kainaat, hope you'll be ready on time. I'll come and pick you up," said the voice on the other end. It was none other than Andres.
I looked at the time on my phone—it was just 8:30 A.M.
"Have you seen the time?" I asked, clearly irritated.
"Yes, I know it's almost late. You should get ready. I can come pick you up—we can have breakfast at my restaurant first, and then roam around more," he said cheerfully.
"This guy is actually mad," I murmured under my breath.
"No, we'll meet at 12 only, and I'll have breakfast at home," I replied and hung up.
I went back to sleep and finally woke up at 11:00 A.M. I picked up my phone to call Mumma and noticed ten unread messages from Andres. I didn't open them and just called Mumma instead. After talking to her, I felt a little better.
I went to take a shower and then opened my suitcase, not sure what to wear. After searching for a while, I finally picked a black tank top and blue wide-leg jeans, paired them with my Jordan sneakers. I didn't want Andres to think I had dressed up just for him. I applied some makeup, sprayed on perfume, grabbed my pink Chanel sling bag, and was ready to go.
As I opened the door, I saw Jas struggling with her hair in the living room.
"What happened, Jas? Want my help?" I asked.
"Yes, please help with a hairstyle. I don't want to keep my hair open today. I think my periods are coming, and so are the mood swings," she said in an irritated voice.
I could feel her mood swings, so I went to her, gave her a tight hug and a kiss on the forehead.
"Let me do it for you, my baby."
I did a cute French braid, and she looked absolutely pretty.
"It's done, and you look so pretty, my girl," I said while cupping her cheeks.
She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. I could see her mood lift.
"Let's go, my pungumungu," she said, covering my shoulder with her arm.
"Let me check with Andres first to see when he'll be here," I said, dialing his number.
He picked up in 0.1 seconds.
"Kainaat, I'm outside your building. Come out whenever you're ready," he said, as if he had been waiting forever.
"Okay, we'll be there in 5 minutes," I replied and hung up.
"He's here already? Wow, Jenn, I think he's fallen for you," Jas teased with a wink.
"Whatever," I muttered, making a weird face.
We locked the door and headed toward the elevator. Once we stepped out of the building, we started looking for his car. That's when I heard a beep from across the road. A sleek black Jaguar was parked there, and Andres was leaning casually against the car door.
He was wearing a black t-shirt with blue denims and black solid sunglasses. Jas and I were both stunned by how ridiculously handsome he looked—and that car was just the cherry on top.
He waved at us, and Jas immediately walked over to him. I followed. He opened the door for Jas and she slipped into the backseat. I was about to join her when he suddenly opened the front passenger door.
"I'm not a driver—someone has to sit in the front with me," he said, flashing a smile.
Ugh, seriously. He's too clever.
I got into the passenger seat and turned back to check on Jas. She was already lost in her phone with her headset on, acting like a princess with Andres as her chauffeur.
As Andres started driving, I couldn't stop staring at his wrist and watch. It looked extra sexy while he was turning the steering wheel. I was almost lost in the sight.
"You look beautiful today. And the best part is—we're twinning," he said with a grin.
I glanced at our outfits and realized we were actually twinning—same black top, same shade of denim, even the same brand of shoes. It was kinda cringe, but it also felt oddly cute.
"Doesn't matter," I said, looking out the window.
I could see him smiling from the corner of my eye, and I just couldn't stop staring. He was, without a doubt, the most handsome guy I'd ever seen.
