Chapter 10 - Chapter 10. Can I have your one day?

Jenn's POV

Jas came back and caught us mid-handshake.

"Jennnn, who's that guy?!" she screamed the hell out of her.

I instantly let go of Andres' hand and laughed nervously. "This is Andres Christine, the owner of this restaurant," I told her.

"But how do you know the owner, Jenn?" she asked with a confused look on her face.

"Oh… actually, he's the guy I met at the mart—the one I bumped into when I got that scratch," I replied, faking a little laugh.

"Let's go, Jas," I said quickly and almost dragged her away due to sheer nervousness.

We were just about to leave when I heard him call out again.

"Kainaat! Can I have your number? Maybe we can stay in touch while you're in Manila—just in case you need any help," he said politely.

I was about to say no, but before I could speak, Jas stepped forward and handed him my number like it was nothing.

"This is Kainaat's number, Andres," she said with a stupid grin on her face.

"Okay then… bye, Andres," I said awkwardly and literally dragged Jas out of there like a dog being pulled away from her favorite toy.

We got into our cab, and as soon as it started moving, I slapped her on the shoulder.

"How can you just give my personal number to a stranger?!" I yelled.

"But Jenn, he's not a stranger now," she said, making those puppy eyes again. I tried to stay mad but couldn't help laughing a little.

"And if he ever gives you a bad vibe, just block him. Big deal," she said while pulling me into a side hug.

She actually had a point.

We reached the shopping mall and even wandered into the street markets, buying some really cool stuff. We had street food, laughed like crazy, and just lived the day to the fullest. It was one of those perfect days.

When we finally returned to the apartment, we dumped our shopping bags on the table and collapsed onto the sofa like two tired potatoes.

"That was an amazing day," we both said in sync, hugging each other again.

We didn't even realize when we fell asleep, but a few hours later, my phone started ringing, yanking me out of a dream. I almost had a mini heart attack. The screen showed an unknown local number. I ignored it and hugged Jas tighter.

But then… it rang again.

I picked it up, half-asleep. "Hello?" I said.

"Hope you had a good day," a familiar voice said. "Because mine was perfect—I met Universe."

I shot up and sat straight on the sofa. It took me a few seconds to connect the dots.

"Andres? Is that you?" I asked.

"Yes, Kainaat. It's me."

"Oh… how can I help you?" I replied nervously, sounding like a customer service assistant.

"Just give me your one day," he said softly—and I swear my heart skipped a beat.
