Elaine's POV
Waking up next to him on my actual bed felt ethereal to me, and I couldn't even describe how it made me feel most of the times I remembered it. I slipped out of bed and went straight ahead to make dinner, enjoying the atmosphere of my abandoned home.
After dishing the meal out, I went to take my bath, which I guessed woke him up.
"Hey, beautiful," he murmured, joining me in the shower without my permission.
"What are you doing?" I giggled.
He ignored me and went straight in to take off his clothes.
"Taking my bath?"
"You could have asked for permission, you know? Or waited until I was done."
"Wait?" He said the word as though it were poison. "I'm sorry, I can't wait to see you naked after days of not being able to do nasty things to you," he said, his words so casually making my cheeks burn.
"U-u-uhm—"
"Just to be sure, do you plan on leaving me here all by myself?"
"Actually," I tried to think of a better way to tell him that I wanted to go to work today, as it would be one of the ways to help me distract myself from everything happening to me so far. However, I didn't want to make him feel pushed to the side, so I just whispered a no.
"Better, because if you had planned on going out, then you'd have to introduce me to a lot of people… perhaps you can tell them that I tame you and make you scream at night." I felt him smirk behind me.
"What has come over you today, Kai?" I giggled against his touch and his endless attempts to suck in my scent with his nostrils, if that made sense.
"You. You have always been over me, Elaine," he whispered against the skin of my neck. "However, waking up somewhere outside Raven Hollow in a place you consider home made it worse," he said his last words while nibbling my ear.
"So you're not mad I made you come over?" I turned to him this time to see the genuineness in his eyes.
"I think I was just afraid of something new and causing problems for you."
His words turned gentle, though still provoking something in me. My fingers found themselves entangled in his hair as I pulled him over to kiss all the breath out of his lungs. He turned on the shower, reversing my intention as I was the one begging for my breath.
"How about sex in the shower?"
"What's that again?" I asked, pretending not to know what he was talking about.
"I'd fuck you brainless, and all you have to do is moan, keep your legs apart, and scream for me."
His words made me drip more than the water from the showerhead did. Rubbing my ass against his hardened member, he roughly grabbed my thigh as he claimed my lips again without warning. He raised my thigh up, parting my legs just as he told me earlier while I held the wall for support before he thrusted into me.
I was definitely going to lose it if I kept kissing him while he caressed my breasts and fucked me insanely like he was doing, so I parted my lips from him and focused my energy on trying not to lose my last straw of sanity.
Soon, he sat on the toilet and guided me on top of him, holding my waist firmly while I bounced hard on him until my movements became sloppy. He then carried me so that my legs were wrapped around his waist, pushing and pulling his dick out of me until neither of us could hold back our screams.
We washed each other up and went straight to have our breakfast.
"I'm glad you like it here," I lowered my voice while we ate.
"I like it wherever you are, Elaine. I just don't want to be the reason why something bad happens… Besides, the full moon is coming soon, and I don't want any of the things in Raven Hollow to follow us here," he explained, making me understand him better.
"You don't have to worry about Raven Hollow. I'll just report to work for two or three days, starting from tomorrow, and we can leave," I assured him.
"It won't be enough to clear your mind. Wasn't that the sole purpose of you being here?"
"But it would keep me distracted from everything that has been happening so far."
He didn't end up saying a word when he parted his lips to speak, so I went back to my food. It was too early for us to start disagreeing on something, especially things like this.
I did the dishes while he sat on the couch, entertaining himself with the news on the screen. I wasn't paying attention until the deaths in Raven Hollow were mentioned. I sped up and turned the large screen off.
"What?" He raised his brow at me with a blank stare on his face.
"I don't want you to see it, okay?"
"I don't think that you brought me here to set me up or something, and I'm not scared of the nosy humans around either," he reminded me while trying to take the remote away from my hand.
"Let's do something else, shall we?"
"Fine," he rolled his eyes in defeat before standing up to join me in my room. We played chess until the day was over and we slept off on each other's bodies.
"Good morning," I greeted him while jolting up from the bed. Fuck! I was supposed to be preparing for work.
"I know, I know, but you have to reward me later," Kai smiled at me while leaving the tray of whatever it was he made me for breakfast.
I rushed to peck his cheek before entering the shower. I didn't know how he figured out everything, including the clothes I'd wear for work, but I was still grateful he did anyway.
"Thanks a lot, Kai," I pecked his left cheek. "I'll see you later today, alright?"
"I'll be waiting for you," he whispered, returning the peck before I left.
Arriving at my workplace, it was as if everyone had already moved on and had forgotten about me.
"Hi, Elaine, you're back!" One of my co-workers sounded so surprised to see me. Her exclamation made everybody's attention shift to me, especially my boss.
"Good morning, boss," I greeted him from afar.
"I need you in my office right now."
The atmosphere changed immediately, and everywhere fell so quiet. I followed his orders, meeting him at his office, where he moved the papers on his desk and focused his whole attention on me.
"Look, I know you reached out multiple times, and I couldn't because I lost my phone on the first day I arrived there and—"
"Nonsense!" He snapped. "Your only saving grace would be if you provide me with information about our suspect."
I almost forgot that he did have an unclear picture of Kai. Still, I told him nothing.
"So far, Raven Hollow has not been as bad as we thought. If not, I'd have been terrified like the others who returned. Maybe something happened, or perhaps a transformation, but I can assure you that it has been a quiet and very deserted area."
"If so, what kept you there for this long? What were you doing when you had a job here and you actually agreed to return by the end of a specific time but didn't?!"
"I'm sorry, I was carried away by other things," I lowered my gaze to the floor.
"Could it be that you joined yourself with that murderer? Because you really acted like you knew him from somewhere the day I assigned you to leave for Raven Hollow. Did you fuck that pig and let him turn you into one of his minions?!"
His words were getting to me in ways I didn't think they would, and I was trying everything possible not to lose control in front of him.
Before he could finish his sentence, I grabbed him by the neck in the blink of an eye. Almost strangling him to death if not for the interruption from another staff member. Everyone else rushed to help the poor man, who was still struggling to breathe properly. He had the look of terror in his eyes as he pointed his finger directly at me.
My feet started walking even though my mind was still trying to grasp how I did what I did. These new abilities were as confusing and scary, but I'd worry about that later. Right now, I just needed to be home.
"You're so early—"
I jumped up to him in a tight embrace, unleashing all my frustration while he just held me still.
"I messed up big time at work, Kai. I almost killed him," I whispered from immense worry.
"Tell me everything."
I did as he asked, and in return, he tried to soothe me, cuddling me until I slept off and woke up the next morning. Deciding not to wake him up, I got out of bed carefully, especially to get the door.
I recognized my co-worker to be the one outside with a letter in her hands.
"I'm sorry, Elaine," she whispered before leaving.
"What's that?" Kai's sleepy voice echoed from behind.
"I've been fired."
