Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Valentines Day (5)

[Third Person's PoV]

"I did a bit of reconnaissance while waiting for you, and here's what we found…" Robin began, explaining the layout of the stage.

"From what we could tell, her source of power comes from people chanting her name. The more they chant, the stronger she gets. You can tell how powerful she is by the intensity of her flame-like hair," Robin explained, listing information Danny already knew from his own knowledge of Ember.

"Her voice is incredibly hypnotic. If it weren't for your Fenton Phones, I would've been a lost cause already," Robin admitted with a sigh.

"What do you mean?" Danny asked curiously.

"I did some research on her yesterday. I couldn't find much, but I started getting drawn into her music—almost like an addiction. I kept wanting to listen to more. But the second I put on the Fenton Phones, that feeling disappeared completely." Robin shook his head at his own carelessness.

"We also found out what she's planning…" Kid Flash chimed in. "She's got radio satellites set up on top of the stage. Once she starts playing, the sound waves will be picked up and transmitted to the nearest radio tower, spreading her music across the entire city. Eventually, every station will pick it up, and soon, her song will be blasting worldwide."

"And once that happens…" Robin added grimly, "I don't even want to imagine how strong she'll be with billions of people chanting her name."

"Then the plan is simple," Danny said. "Kid Flash and I will take care of the band. There are four of them, so two for each of us. Meanwhile, Robin, you'll focus on disabling—"

"NOW, I WILL BEGIN MY FIRST SONG FOR ALL OF MY LOVELY FANS WHO CAME TO SUPPORT ME!" Ember's voice suddenly rang out, interrupting their strategy session.

"EMBER! EMBER! EMBER! EMBER!" The crowd roared in response.

"FOR MY FIRST SONG, I'LL PLAY FOR YOU… 'YOU WILL REMEMBER!!'"

Drumsticks smacked together in a steady beat before the rest of the band joined in.

🎶🎵 "Yeah! Oh!" 🎶🎵

Ember's soft yet tantalizing voice filled the air.

🎶🎵 "It was, it was September

Winds blow, the dead leaves fall

To you, I did surrender

Two weeks, you didn't call…" 🎶🎵

Danny turned to Robin. "You need to focus on the satellite and stop the transmission to the radio tower."

Kid Flash glanced toward the stage, sighing. "You know, I get that she's trying to hypnotize the entire world, but she actually sounds kinda good…"

"KF, you can admire her music later," Robin said dryly. "Let's stick to the plan. Split up."

Robin rushed off into the distance while Kid Flash blurred into motion, weaving through the crowd.

Danny blasted into the sky, leaving behind a green ectoplasmic trail. Thanks to all the twists and turns Kid Flash had to navigate, Danny reached the stage first.

As he approached, Ember caught sight of him mid-song. Her brows furrowed, immediately sensing his bad intentions.

With a powerful strum of her guitar, she unleashed a ghostly soundwave blast.

Danny barely dodged, twisting through the air as she continued singing.

🎶🎵 "Your life goes on without me

My life, a losing game

But you should, you should not doubt me

You will remember my name…" 🎶🎵

Just then, Kid Flash slid onto the stage with his usual flair. "Hey there, beaut—"

Before he could finish, a wave of fire erupted from Ember's hair, slamming into him. The sheer speed and strength of her attack—amplified by the chanting—caught him off guard. He barely had time to react before he was sent flying off the stage with a startled yell.

"Kid Flash!!" Danny called out in surprise. He turned back just in time to see Ember press a button on her mic stand. Her mouth stopped moving, but the music kept playing.

'Seriously? You have super speed! How the hell did you get hit?' Danny thought, sighing.

"You, ghost boy! Why are you trying to stop my show?!" Ember shouted, pointing an accusing finger at him.

"One, don't call me ghost boy—we're both technically ghosts. And two, oh, I don't know… maybe because you're hypnotizing everyone?!" Danny shot back sarcastically.

"I will not let you ruin my shot at stardom!" Ember yelled, her fiery hair flaring as she launched a wave of flames at him.

Danny was ready this time. He dove downward, phasing through the stage floor. Then, in a flash, he reappeared beneath Ember and struck her chin with a glowing green, ectoplasmic punch.

Ember was sent tumbling through the air, rolling several times before correcting herself mid-flight. Rubbing her chin, she winced. "OW! This is my money maker, you know!"

With a glare, she twisted the dial on her guitar, then strummed hard—

A deafening soundwave shot toward Danny at the speed of sound.

"AHHHHHHHHH!!!" Danny cried out, clutching his ears in agony as the blast hit him full force.

Although the Fenton Phones filtered out spectral noise, Ember's attack was more than just sound—it was pure force.

Danny gritted his teeth as Ember stuck her tongue out, strumming her guitar like she was playing a victory solo.

Pressing his hands against his ears, Danny forced himself to focus. His eyes burned an even brighter shade of green. Then, without warning, he snapped his head up and fired twin ghost rays straight from his eyes.

Caught off guard, Ember barely had time to react before the attack struck her. She was sent flying, crashing into the ground with a loud thud.

Meanwhile, Kid Flash reappeared on stage, brushing off the flames that had singed his suit. Thanks to its high-speed friction resistance, it wasn't too damaged. Seeing that Danny had Ember occupied, he turned his attention to the band. His first target: the keyboardist.

As Kid Flash sped toward him, the keyboardist slammed his fingers onto the keys, unleashing a barrage of glowing musical notes that shot toward the speedster. But now that he was expecting an attack, Kid Flash easily dodged them.

"Oh, too bad," he taunted, weaving between the projectiles. "Are you even trying?"

The keyboardist gritted his teeth and played even faster, sending a relentless storm of energy notes at him.

Kid Flash smirked, dodging with supernatural agility before kicking the keyboard away. The musician barely had time to react before Kid Flash unleashed a flurry of rapid punches, sending him stumbling backward. Green ectoplasmic blood splattered onto the stage.

But before Kid Flash could follow up, a flying hi-hat came spinning at him like a razor-sharp disc. He barely managed to slide backward to avoid it.

He turned toward the drummer, who was smirking as multiple cymbals hovered around him, ready to be launched.

"This is going to be a long day…" Kid Flash muttered.

Meanwhile, Ember shot back up, recovering almost instantly. She flipped her guitar so it hovered horizontally in midair, then leaped onto it, using it like a flying board.

"You brat! That's sensitive equipment!" she shrieked, pointing furiously at Danny.

"Who are you calling a brat? We don't look that far apart in age!" Danny shot back, blasting off toward her, his fists glowing with ectoplasmic energy.

He swung at her, but she turned intangible at the last second. His punch sailed harmlessly through her.

As he passed through, Ember lashed out with her flaming blue hair like a whip, striking his back with a burning snap.

Danny let out a sharp cry, his body flung toward the stage. But just before impact, he phased through the floor and re-emerged, unharmed and ready to counterattack.

"You're not the only one with flame abilities!" he shouted.

Danny's fists ignited with ghostly green flames. With a powerful punch, he sent a barrage of fireballs streaking toward Ember.

She grinned, effortlessly weaving through the attacks as she zipped through the air on her guitar.

"I've heard of obsessive fans, but aren't you being a little much?" she teased.

"Oh, please," Danny scoffed, attempting to trap her in a force field.

But Ember strummed her guitar, unleashing a wave of fire that shattered the barrier instantly.

"The only way someone like you gets fans is through hypnosis!" Danny taunted.

Ember's smug expression faltered for just a second. "Dude… ow," she muttered, sounding genuinely hurt.

Danny hesitated. "Oh… uh, sorry—"

Before he could finish, Ember kicked the bottom of her guitar, flipping it in front of her, and blasted him with a powerful sonic wave.

The attack hit him full force, sending him tumbling backward through the sky.

"Idiot," she snickered.

Danny quickly stabilized himself midair, glaring at her. "You know, your music might be great, but you have a horrendous personality!"

Ember blinked in surprise. "Wait… you think my music is great?"

"Yeah, right! I'm not falling for that again!" Danny shouted, firing another ghost ray.

The blast struck her directly, throwing her off balance.

"Wait—" Ember started, but Danny was already on her, closing the distance as their aerial battle continued.

Yet, as she fought back, a thought kept nagging at the back of her mind.

'He wasn't under my spell… but did he really think my music was great? Or was he just saying that?'
