She swallowed hard. "Lucifer... can I go back to school?"

"No," he said coldly, not even bothering to ask why she was leaving.

"Please, I have missed so many classes already. I need to finish my degree."

His jaw clenched, his grip on his fists tightening until his knuckles turned white.

"I..."

"School is full of boys," he snarled, cutting her off. "Stupid, fucking boys who will look at you like you are theirs. I won't let them get close"

"Please, I promise I won't let them get close to me and won't look at them".

"I'll follow every rule and do whatever you say. Just let me go."

"Fine."

Her eyes widened in surprise. "What?"

"You can go, but Damien will take you to school, drop you off at school, and pick you up," he stepped closer, his hands wrapping around the back of her neck.

Without thinking, she threw her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly. Lucifer froze, his entire body going rigid at the unexpected gesture. Slowly, his arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer. His body stiffened further as he let out a frustrated growl.

"Please... I will do anything."

"F**k," he muttered under his breath, running a hand through his hair. "You don't play fair."

"You want to go to school so f**king bad?" he growled. "Fine."

"I will burn that school to the ground."

"And no f**king boyfriend."

"Ahem."

They both turned, and there stood Damien, leaning casually against the doorway

School?" he repeated "Who the fuck's going to school?"

"Little thing is going to school," Lucifer said, his tone calm but unyielding.

Damien straightened, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "You've gotta be kidding me. Her?"

"Yes," Lucifer replied,

Damien gave a low laugh, pushing off the doorframe and shaking his head. "Fuck no. I'm not doing it. Driving her to school? Picking her up? I've got better shit to do. chauffeur? Are you serious right now?"."

"You'll do it."

Damien rolled his eyes, shoving his hands into his pockets. "And what if I don't? You gonna break my legs or something. Find a driver or something else?"

"Or I'll make sure your granny knows you've been avoiding her."

Damien stiffened. "You wouldn't fucking dare."

"Oh, I would. And you know exactly what will happen when she gets her hands on you."

Damien groaned, rubbing a hand over his face. " You're really going to threaten me with that old lady?"

"She'll drag your ass to the altar, She's been waiting to marry you off to that sweet little girl from the bakery."

"Fuck off," Damien growled. "I'm not getting married. And I'm definitely not getting stuck with that girl."

"Then you'll take Lily to school," Lucifer said, ."Lucifer wrapped his arm around Lily's waist, pulling her close. "Good. Now, let's get one thing straight — if I hear about any motherfucker even looking at her the wrong way…"

"I know, I know," Damien muttered. "Break their fucking faces. You've made your point."

"Don," Looks like that motherfucker is here."

Lucifer's entire demeanor shifted. His eyes darkened to a deadly shade, his jaw clenching.

"Little thing"

"Yes?"

"Go back to your room, and don't moved out until I tell you so" he ordered,

"But"

"Don't make me say it twice," Lucifer growled.

"Please… don't do anything dangerous."

Lucifer's gaze softened for half a second barely noticeable Then it hardened again, colder than ever. "Upstairs. Now."

Reluctantly, she nodded, casting one last worried glance at Damien before disappearing up the stairs.

"Don't you think you're being a little harsh on her?" he asked.

Lucifer shot him a sharp look, his jaw clenching. "She doesn't need to be involved in this. The less she knows, the better."

Damien let out a low chuckle, shaking his head. "You're so fucking cold, man. You could've just said it without scaring the life out of her."

Lucifer didn't respond immediately. Instead, he reached for his cigarette case, lighting one with a flick of his lighter. Taking a long drag, he exhaled a cloud of smoke, his expression unreadable.

"She needs to stay out of this world, it too dangerous for her," he finally said

"By the way, why the fuck did you agree to let her go back to school? I thought you didn't want her out there."

Lucifer didn't look at him, He took a slow drag before exhaling a plume of smoke,

"Nothing," he replied curtly, his voice low and cold.

"You have a lot of enemies out there, what if they find out about Lily? What if they try to harm her?"

"You're there," he said simply.

. "Me? That's your plan? Just throw me at the wolves if they come sniffing around?"

"You're not a fucking idiot, Damien. You've handled worse. Keep her safe."

Damien scoffed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, because I've got nothing better to do than babysit your little obsession."

"Watch your mouth."

Damien raised his hands in mock surrender, though his smirk didn't fade. "Relax, boss. I'll keep her safe. But if she keeps sneaking into trouble, don't blame me if I drag her back here kicking and screaming."

"She won't," Lucifer said, his tone final. "Because you won't let her."

Damien shook his head, muttering something under his breath. "You're a cold son of a bitch, you know that?"

Lucifer didn't reply, just took another drag of his cigarette.

Because if there was one thing Lucifer hated more than weakness, it was losing control.

Damien studied him for a moment before shrugging," I'm just saying… Don Moretti's showing up unannounced? That's not a good sign."

✮•✮•✮•✮

. "Fifty percent of my shipping routes," he repeated, "For what? A few million and your bullshit promise of protection?"

"It's not just protection, Lucifer .It's an alliance. Together, we can dominate the fucking East Coast. The feds are closing in on your operations. You'll need someone to cover your ass."

Lucifer's lips curled into a cold smirk. "Cover my ass? the only thing you'll be covering is your fucking grave when I bury you in it."

."I'm offering you a lifeline here. Turn this down, and"

Lucifer slammed his fist on the table, "Get the fuck out of here"

"Your lifeline? Your alliance? All I see is a desperate little man trying to crawl his way out of his own shit. You want my routes? You'll have to bleed for them."

"You're making a mistake. Refusing me"

"Is what?" Lucifer interrupted, his voice cold enough to freeze the blood "A death sentence? The only mistake here is you thinking I'd let you walk out of this room alive after disrespecting me."

"The deal's off. Take your money, your fake promises, and your pathetic excuses, and get the fuck out of my sight. And if I see you anywhere near my operations again, I'll send your head back to your family in a fucking box."

In a flash, Din pulled out his gun. He aimed it directly at Lucifer chest.

Bang!

The bullet hit Lucifer square in his chest. Lucifer stumbled back slightly his hands going to where blood bloomed against his white shirt. He laughed as he pulled out his bullet from his chest, dropping it to the floor.

"You mother fucker" his words were cut off by Lucifer. He grabbed his neck before punching his hards on his stomach. The Don fell to the grunt. He groaned spitting out blood to the floor.

"Ahhh!" The Don screamed as Lucifer stomped down on his leg. The crack of bone were heard.

"Please.. Fuck ahh.

He moved like lightening closing the distance between them . Damien grabbed the barrel of his shot gun yanking it out of his hands and slamming the butt of the gun to his head.

The man nose exploded in pain in a spray of blood as he stumbled backwards screaming in pain. He swung the shot gun again, this time smashing it into the side of the man neck.

The man head twisted before his body crumpled to the floor.

"Pathetic"Damien muttered tossing the shot aside

Two more men rushed to him, one threw a punch but he didged it and grabbed the man and twisted it.

"Ahh! My arm"the man screamed dropping to his knee. Before he could react, he grabbed his neck against the wall and slammed it against the wall, again and again until blood streaked down the plaster.

Snap

The man neck was broken into two, he let him drop to the floor like trash.

Damien dropped the lifeless body to the floor.

Don Moretti's hand twitched toward his jacket, but before he could do anything, , he grabbed Moretti's wrist and slammed it against the wall, forcing him to drop the gun he was reaching for.

"Fuck!" Moretti hissed in pain, struggling against Lucifer grip.

"Please.."

Lucifer stood up and pulled the trigger, the bullet hitting the man on his head.

He wiped out the blood from his hand with a clothes before tucking the gun back to his pocket.

He stepped over a lifeless body, reaching for the whiskey on the desk, pouring himself a glass.

"You good"he noticed the blood still tricking down his clothes "You are bleeding".

Lucifer glanced down at the wound like it was nothing, brushing his finger over the torn clothes before wiping the blood "it nothing" he muttered taking another drag from his cigarettes.

Damien scoffed, crossing his arms "Nothing, that mother fucker shoot you in the chest and you are standing here like it just a scratch"

Lucifer exhaled a plume of smoke "I have been shot worse".

"Yeah but last time, you didn't have little thing waiting for you upstairs. She gonna freak when when she see you like this?

"She won't" his expression darkened.

" "Clean this mess up," he ordered,.

Damien gave a short, mocking laugh, but he didn't argue. He motioned to the remaining men to start clearing the room, then leaned against the wall with a lazy grin.

He walked out of the room before climbing the grand staircase, Once inside his room, he shut the door behind him and tore the bloodied shirt off, tossing it into a corner. The mirror caught his reflection, his broad chest still smeared with streaks of red.

She was light, pure and untainted in a way he'd never known. And he was darkness deep, consuming, and unforgiving. Yet he couldn't resist her.

Pulling a out the white shirt from his wardrobe, he slid it on,

"Fucking hell," he muttered under his breath, shaking his head. He was Lucifer Draven, feared and respected, the devil incarnate in this world. Yet when it came to her, he felt...weak. Vulnerable.

And that terrified him more than any enemy ever could.

She sighed, flipping a page without really reading it. Being stuck inside all day was maddening. Lucifer had ordered her to stay in her room, and though she hated to admit it.

The door suddenly open, startling her. She looked up to find him standing there, his broad frame filling the doorway.

"You didn't knock," she said, frowning at him.

"I don't knock in my house," he replied, his tone unapologetic as he stepped inside without waiting for an invitation.

She snapped the book shut, her irritation bubbling to the surface. "You could at least pretend to have manners, you know."

He ignored her comment, "What are you doing?"

"What does it look like I'm doing?" she shot back, holding up the book. "Trying not to die of boredom, thanks to you."

. "Boredom is better than danger, don't you think?"

She rolled her eyes. "You're so dramatic. What's the worst that could happen if I stepped outside for an hour?"

"Everything," he said simply, his voice colder now. "You don't understand how easily things can go wrong."

She sighe "Fine. But you could still knock. It's called basic decency."

He chuckled "You're the only person who'd dare lecture me on decency."

He leaned casually against the doorframe, He couldn't believe it,his little thing was lecturing him about manners. Manners, of all things.

No one had ever dared speak to him like this before. If anyone else had tried, they wouldn't have left the room in one piece. A severed limb or a bullet to the head would've been their reward. Yet here she was, standing her ground, a slight flush of anger on her cheeks.

"You're lecturing me about manners. Do you have any idea who you're talking to?"

Lily crossed her arms over her chest, glaring at him. "I know exactly who I'm talking to. That doesn't give you the right to barge into my room without knocking."

Lucifer tilted his head, studying her as a slow, wicked smile curved his lips. She was furious adorably so. Her lips pressed into a thin line, her brows furrowed, and her tiny fists clenched at her sides. For some reason, her anger amused him more than it annoyed him.

"You're cute when you're angry," he said,

"I'm not trying to be cute," she snapped,

That only made him chuckle harder, "Of course you're not. But you are."

""You know, if anyone else had spoken to me the way you just did, they'd either be missing a few fingers or lying six feet under by now."

Lily's throat went dry, but she refused to look away. "Well, I'm not anyone else," she said.

"No, you're not, You're my little thing. And that's the only reason you're still standing here, unharmed."

She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "How generous of you."

"I have a surprise for you," he said simply.

Her brows knitted together in confusion. "A surprise?"

"Yes," he replied, leaning casually against the doorframe. "You've been accepted into a school. A proper one."

Her jaw dropped slightly, her eyes widening in disbelief. "Wait…what? You're serious?"

"Dead serious," he confirmed, his gaze unwavering. "You're starting Monday."

Lily blinked, processing the news. "But…it too soon, how did you able to get me so soon".

"I have my way, and you wouldn't stop pestering me about ity, I'm tired of hearing you complain about being bored. Besides…" His gaze darkened slightly. "You'll have a security detail. Damien will take you there and pick you up. No exceptions."

"Thank you," she said

. "No boyfriends. No unnecessary conversations with anyone. You go to class, you study, and you come straight home. Do you understand?"

"Thank you," Lily said

"What?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

"Nothing." He paused "Aren't you going to give me something in return?"

"Like what?" she asked

Lucifer leaned down just enough to make her heart race, his dark eyes holding her captive. "A kiss. A deep one."

Lily's eyes widened in shock, and her face turned crimson. "What?! No!"

He chuckled darkly, straightening to his full height. "Why not? It's a fair trade, don't you think?"
