Cherreads

Chapter 3 - 3

The next morning, I threw away the plush toy and went to the company, searching all day, but didn't find the girl who had delivered the takeout to me.

After work, I deliberately walked around downstairs a few more times, but still didn't find any trace of the suspicious girl.

I sighed, feeling that she probably wouldn't harass me again, and then went upstairs.

As a result, when I opened the door, my heart leaped again.

The door didn't open, it seemed to be blocked by something.

I took a deep breath, pressed my side against the door, and pushed the door open with all my might.

I used my briefcase as a weapon, and as soon as I entered the house, I felt something touch my foot. I looked down, and goosebumps erupted all over my body!

Behind the door, there was a mountain of carp plush toys, densely packed!

I even smelled a strong fishy smell!

That girl had been to my house?

What the hell was she trying to do?

I carefully checked the living room, bedroom, and bathroom, even lying on the floor searching for unfamiliar footprints, but didn't find any traces left by the girl.

Except for the stench that permeated the house.

So, where did the stench come from?

I opened the window in confusion, wanting to air out the place.

At the moment the sounds of traffic rushed into the house, I finally realized what was wrong.

The house was so quiet.

I slowly turned around and looked around the house, repeatedly calling Buddy's name.

There was no sign of Buddy in any corner.

I stood in the living room, and a bad feeling welled up in my heart.

In the silent house, I looked at the pile of carp plush toys at the door.

I couldn't help but get goosebumps, but I still mustered my courage, picked up a coat rack, and approached the pile of toys. However, as soon as I had poked around a couple of times, my heart nearly stopped.

Buried under the plush toys was my Buddy.

He had accompanied me through three years of corporate life.

Now, he had been skinned, bloodied, and buried in the fish, and had been dead for a long time.

The pain and fear surged up, and I trembled and retreated. Suddenly, a sharp pain came from my ankle. It was probably because I tripped over a chair, and my body uncontrollably fell backwards.

I immediately reached out to protect the back of my head.

As a result, the expected pain didn't come.

I didn't fall.

I was actually held up by someone.

Cold sweat soaked my back, and I didn't even dare to look back, only dared to tremble and look down.

On my waist, there were only two wet handprints left.

I turned my head sharply, and the house was empty.

My whole body couldn't help but tremble.

That girl, had she been in my house all along?
