Chapter 9 - 9

I fell to the ground directly.

How the hell did this get in??

A body completely stripped of skin stood in front of me, with muscles, fat, and even some blackened fat hanging on it, just like the most disgusting zombie in a bloodbath movie.

The sudden fear triggered a strong sense of discomfort, and I really vomited everywhere.

Dong dong, dong dong.

The knocking sound was still ringing from behind the door, and a feeling of despair like a tsunami spread in my heart.

"It's me, Joseph." At the same time, the voice came from the bloodied corpse in front of me.

Joseph was the name my childhood friends had called me.

I immediately recognized this was the voice of Liam Miller.

Those childhood friends of that year were named Liam Miller, Mason Davis, Noah Wilson, and Oliver Smith.

Hearing the familiar voice, I instantly regained a trace of reason.

I spoke with difficulty, nearly pleading, "Liam Miller?"

Only then did I realize that my voice had become hoarse.

Liam Miller's bloodied corpse nodded, and took a few steps back, and I finally had space to stand up.

"Holy..."

However, there were still three bloodied corpses standing behind Liam Miller!

One stood in front of the window, one stood beside the sofa, and another was coming out of the bedroom.

They were clearly human forms, but each of them emitted the aura of a dead thing, like fragmented mannequins in a shopping mall, eerie and terrifying.

At this moment, they were all staring at me, without saying a word.

I realized that they were probably the dead childhood friends, so I asked, "Who... exactly killed you? I will avenge you!"

As a result, they didn't respond, but instead took unsteady steps, like mud sculptures that had no skeletal support and were about to melt, walking towards me. Some fell and crawled over, leaving a pool of blood on the floor.

Until they surrounded me.

I was helpless, and beads of sweat rolled down my forehead.

At this time, Liam Miller's bloodied corpse spoke again: "Joseph. Why didn't you die?"

What?

For a moment, I didn't know how to answer, and the four bloodied corpses didn't give me any space to answer either.

Liam Miller's bloodied corpse's words, like an instruction being triggered, as soon as the words were out, the four bloodied corpses immediately pounced on me.

In my line of sight, everywhere, was the bloodied hands.

A bloodied hand came towards me, with the smell of decay and the stench of rotten flesh, firmly covering my mouth.

I just reached out to remove this bloodied hand, and a sharp pain came from my thigh.

The bloodied corpse on the ground bit me hard.

My legs went weak, and I was pressed to the ground by several bloodied hands.

Next, I don't know which bloodied corpse's hand reached into my back.

It touched the wound on the back of my neck that had already been stitched, tore the thread, and roughly tore open the wound.

"Ah!!!"

The sharp pain came instantly, and I let out a scream.

In my mind, I recalled what Father Michael O'Connell had told me about the torture of skinning.

So, am I going to accept this kind of torment next?

As soon as this thought appeared, I wanted to commit suicide!

Unfortunately, I was restrained, my face pressed tightly against the floor, and I felt pain all over, and the only things I could see were the smell of decay, and I couldn't see anything else. There was no room to think about resisting.

"Woof!"

Just when I was about to lose consciousness, I heard a familiar bark.

The force acting on me seemed to be lessened.

I looked up in a daze, and found Buddy flying over from the window.

"Woof woof!"

He pounced on the bloodied corpses and kept biting.

I saw the bloodied corpses trying to shake him off, and although he was thrown far away, he still quickly pounced on another bloodied corpse.

I had a space to breathe, and I got up and grabbed the stool from the table and smashed it at the bloodied corpse closest to me!

Bang!

My tiger's mouth trembled, and I still endured the pain, carrying the stool, and smashed it at everything that looked red.

"Woof woof woof!"

The dog barks, the knocking sound, and the muffled sound from the chair hitting mixed together, and I couldn't hear any other sounds.

My vision gradually blurred, and my strength was gradually fading.

Again swinging the chair, I missed, and my body fell heavily to the ground.

Only then did I realize that the bloodied corpses were gone, and that lively Buddy was also gone, and the continuous knocking sound had also stopped.

Only the excruciating pain in my back, the blood all over the floor, the messy and broken walls and furniture told me that everything just now was real.

I came to my senses, and before I could be happy that I had survived, I smelled a fragrance filling the house.

Following the fragrance to the kitchen, I found a head lying in a pot that hadn't been fired.

That was the head of Buddy, that I had buried myself.

On it, there was still fresh soil.

He saved me once with his life, and transformed into a soul, and perished together with those bloodied corpses.

He probably won't appear again.

Perhaps, I will soon go to another world to see him.

Perhaps, there is another possibility, that he is in another world, watching his master, defeat the female ghost, and live a good life.

If it's the latter, he will definitely smile with his tongue sticking out like he used to.

In the pot, Buddy's empty eye sockets were still staring at me.

Suddenly, I always felt that some clues were connected.

Unfortunately, this feeling was fleeting, and I couldn't grasp it either.

I could only wait for daylight, and go to the hospital again to bandage.
