Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 3

A NIGHTMARE

Anna's eyes fluttered open, and she was met with darkness. She tried to move, but her hands and feet were bound.

"Where am I?" she whispered, her voice shaking with fear.

There was no response. Anna was alone.

She struggled against her restraints, but they were too tight. She was trapped.

As she lay there, Anna's mind flashed back to the night she was kidnapped. She had been walking to meet the mysterious Mr. J at the warehouse as described in the letter she received, but was grabbed from the back and pushed into a van after she left her dad's estate.

She had tried to fight back, but her attacker was too strong. He had dragged her to a van, where she was thrown inside with several other girls.

Anna's eyes welled up with tears as she remembered the terror she had felt that night. She had been so scared, so alone.

But as she looked around the dark room, Anna realized she was not alone. There were other girls with her, all of them bound and gagged.

One of the girls caught Anna's eye. She was a petite thing, with long brown hair and big green eyes.

"Hi," the girl whispered, her voice barely audible.

Anna smiled weakly. "Hi."

The girl introduced herself as Sarah, and Anna learned that she had been kidnapped from a bus stop.

As the days passed, Anna and Sarah became close friends. They talked about their lives before the kidnapping, their families and friends.

Anna told Sarah about her parents, about her father's wealth and influence. Sarah listened with wide eyes, amazed by Anna's stories.

But despite their friendship, Anna couldn't shake off the feeling of despair. She was trapped, with no way out.

And then there was the pain. Anna's body ached from the beatings she had received from her captors.

She remembered the first time she was beaten. She had tried to escape, but was caught and punished.

The pain had been excruciating, and Anna had thought she was going to die.

But she didn't. She survived, and she continued to survive, day after day.

As the days turned into weeks, Anna lost hope. She thought she would never see her family again, never experience freedom again.

But Sarah's presence kept her going. The two girls talked and laughed together, sharing what little joy they could find in their desperate situation.

And then, one day, Anna heard the sound of footsteps outside her room. She tensed, expecting another beating.

But instead, a figure appeared in the doorway. It was a woman, dressed in a long coat.

"Anna," the woman said, her voice low and husky. "You're coming with me."

Anna's heart skipped a beat. What did this woman want with her?

But before she could ask any questions, the woman turned and left, beckoning Anna to follow.

Anna hesitated, unsure of what to do. But Sarah's voice encouraged her to move.

"Go," Sarah whispered. "See where she takes you."

Anna nodded, taking a deep breath. She followed the woman out of the room, into the unknown.

Anna followed the woman through the dark and dusty corridors of the warehouse. She had no idea where she was being taken or what would happen to her when she got there.

As they walked, Anna's mind flashed back to the night she was kidnapped. She had been so stupid to go to the warehouse and meet the mysterious Mr. J.

But she had been desperate for help, she wanted to help her dad secure the project Mr. Tunde Martin's was fighting him over with and Mr. J had promised to help her dad if she meet him at the warehouse.

He threatened to kill her dad if she refused to come.

She didn't want to come at first, being a smart girl, she recorded their conversation and wanted to give it to the police.

But somehow the mysterious Mr. J got wind of it and threatened to kill her entire family if she give the recording to the police and refuse to meet him in the warehouse,at the stipulated time.

Leading to her extreme uneasimess that kept her on edge, not escaping her mother's prying eyes.

Anna's eyes narrowed as she thought about Mr. J. Who was he, really? And what did he want with her?

The woman stopped in front of a door and turned to Anna.

"This is where you'll be staying," she said, her voice firm but not unkind.

Anna's eyes widened as the woman opened the door and pushed her inside.

But as she looked around the room, Anna saw something that gave her a glimmer of hope.

A small window, high up on the wall.

It was a way out.

But it was a trap.

Anna's eyes fluttered open, and she was met with agony. Her body ached all over, and she could barely breathe.

She remembered trying to escape through the window, but it seemed like a distant memory now.

As she looked around the room, Anna saw the woman who had brought her to the room standing over her, a mixture of anger and pity on her face.

"You shouldn't have tried to escape," the woman said, her voice firm but not unkind. "Now, you'll have to suffer the consequences."

Anna tried to speak, but her voice was hoarse from screaming. She could barely whisper.

The woman nodded. "You'll learn to obey. We'll make sure of it."

Anna's eyes welled up with tears as the woman turned and left the room. She was alone again, left to suffer in silence.

As she lay there, Anna realized that she had underestimated her captors. They were more ruthless than she had imagined.

And now, she was paying the price.

The price for trying to escape.

She couldn't help but shiver at what awaits her in the future.

Wondering when she will be free from this cold walls, and what her captors purpose for keeping her here.
