THE BOSS RUTHLESSNESS
A DESPERATE DECISION
But as the days passed, Anna failed to thrive. Despite the best efforts of the new maid, Maria, Anna grew weaker and more despondent. She refused to eat, refused to cooperate, and refused to give up.
The boss was furious. He had never met a girl like Anna before, a girl who refused to be broken.
"Victor, what's going on with Anna?" the boss demanded, his voice low and menacing. "I thought you said she was the perfect pawn."
Victor shifted uncomfortably. "I know, sir. But Anna's not like other girls. She's...she's stubborn."
The boss's face darkened. "Stubborn? I'll show her stubborn. Bring her friend Sarah here. If Anna doesn't cooperate, we'll kill Sarah."
Victor nodded, his eyes wide with fear. "Yes, sir."
As Victor left the room, the boss smiled again, a cold, cruel smile. He knew that Anna would do anything to save her friend.
Anna sat in her room, staring blankly at the wall as she thought about her situation. She had tried to escape, but it had failed miserably. Rachel was dead, and Anna was still trapped.
The boss's words echoed in her mind: "If you don't cooperate, we'll kill Sarah."
Anna felt a wave of fear wash over her. She couldn't let that happen. She had to protect Sarah, no matter what.
With a heavy heart, Anna made her decision. She would cooperate with the boss, no matter how much she hated it.
As she sat there, waiting for the boss to arrive, Anna felt a sense of despair wash over her. She had given up, and she knew it.
The door opened, and the boss walked in, a smile on his face.
"Ah, Anna," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I see you've decided to cooperate. Excellent choice."
Anna nodded, trying to keep her emotions in check.
"I'll do whatever you want," Anna said, her voice barely above a whisper.
The boss smiled again, his eyes glinting with triumph.
"Excellent," he repeated. "I knew you'd see things my way."
Then the boss left with a smile and promised to give her a reward for her obedience.
Few minutes later, she heard a faint noise outside the room.
It sounded like footsteps, light and cautious then hurried.
Anna's heart skipped a beat. Could it be Sarah?
Is she the reward the boss promised? She was both excited and nervous.
The door creaked open, and Sarah was led into the room by two burly guards. Anna's eyes widened as she saw her friend, her heart racing with a mix of emotions.
Sarah looked pale and scared, her eyes darting around the room as if searching for an escape route. But as she saw Anna, her face lit up with a faint smile.
"Anna," Sarah whispered, her voice trembling.
Anna's eyes welled up with tears as she rushed to hug her friend. "Sarah, I'm so sorry," Anna whispered, holding her friend tightly.
The guards stepped back, their faces expressionless. "The boss wants you two to get along," one of them growled. "You're to keep each other company and make sure Anna here doesn't get any ideas about escaping."
Anna's heart sank as she realized the true reason behind Sarah's presence. The boss wanted to use Sarah as leverage to keep Anna in line.
As the guards left the room, Anna and Sarah sat down on the bed, holding each other tightly.
"I'm so sorry, Sarah," Anna whispered again. "I never meant for you to get dragged into this."
Sarah shook her head, her eyes welling up with tears. "It's not your fault, Anna," Sarah whispered. "I'm just glad I'm here with you now, it's better than where I was kept before. Cold and lifeless."
As they hugged each other tightly, Anna knew that she had to protect Sarah, she had to give up any ideas of escaping so has not lose Sarah as she lost Rachel.
She still felt guilty about Rachel's death. If only she didn't think of escaping,Rachel would still be alive.
With a long sigh, she decided to surrender and leave her fate to God.
Anna held Sarah tightly, trying to comfort her friend. She knew that Sarah was scared and vulnerable, and Anna wanted to protect her.
"It's okay, Sarah," Anna whispered, her voice soft and soothing. "I'm here for you. We'll get through this together."
Sarah nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. "I'm so scared, Anna," Sarah whispered. "I don't know what's going to happen to us."
Anna held her friend closer, trying to reassure her. "We'll be okay, Sarah," Anna said. "We just have to stick together and support each other."
As they sat there, Anna tried to distract Sarah from their situation. She asked her friend about her family, her friends, and her life before they were kidnapped.
Sarah smiled faintly, her eyes lighting up with memories. "I miss my family so much," Sarah said. "I miss my mom's cooking and my dad's jokes."
Anna smiled, trying to share her friend's memories. "I'm sure they miss you too," Anna said. "We'll get back to them someday."
As they talked, Anna tried to make Sarah feel safe and comforted. She knew that their situation was precarious, but she wanted to give her friend hope.
Although she doesn't have hope herself, consoling Sarah makes her feel a little bit of hope. But for now she need to lie low, she's afraid she will lose Sarah if she plans an escape again.
She couldn't help but mutter,"Rachel, I'm sorry, I can't avenge you now."
