Chapter 4 - 4

That night was the darkest moment of my life.

The pain the car accident brought me was already enough to be engraved, yet it was still not as much as half of what they brought me.

With my eyes open, I lay there from dark to light.

Every scene imprinted on my eyes became a poisoned needle piercing my heart.

One by one, letting me change from anger, sadness, to numbness, hatred. And now the dead silence, calm.

At eight in the morning, Michael Smith went to work.

Jennifer Miller was yawning and cooking in the kitchen.

Seeing them trying so hard to act to deceive me, I sat on the sofa, observing every part of the living room without a sound.

I saw that this set of wedding house, which I paid for, was decorated completely differently from the plan I proposed, filled with tacky candy colors everywhere, and a photo in the center of the living room, was actually a wedding photo of Michael Smith and Jennifer Miller!

Glancing at Jennifer Miller, who was also wearing a candy-colored nightgown, the hand holding the water cup couldn't help but tremble.

A conclusion, which was not controlled by my heart, suddenly popped out from my heart when I recalled the words I had heard after I regained my sight last night—

Michael Smith and Jennifer Miller, are they treating my house as their wedding house?

Thinking of the fact that Jennifer Miller was hired when I moved into this house, my back could not help but break out in a layer of cold sweat.

Subconsciously, I looked towards the open kitchen again.

Seeing that Jennifer Miller brazenly stir-fried the leftovers and served them on the table, and took a few cucumbers from the refrigerator and washed them without washing them, smashed them and mixed them with cold sauce, and threw them into the plate, which was still greasy, my face turned cold, and I called her over, "Xiaofang, I suddenly really want to eat the Shengjian buns from the shop you bought for me last time, could you please help me buy two servings?"

I sent Jennifer Miller away.

Even though she was reluctant, since she was a nanny, she had to act to the end.

Only after confirming that she had left the community, I had the opportunity to check the entire house.

Seeing that this house was indeed filled with Jennifer Miller's things, even the things belonging to me that I had moved from the old house were thrown into the storage room, and there was even the torn wedding photo of me and Michael Smith inside, my face suddenly sank.

The conjectured conclusion was confirmed, I returned to the master bedroom and stared at the full wall of Jennifer Miller's photos of her life, and I couldn't stop trembling with anger.

Especially after seeing the happy smiles on the faces of the two people, I couldn't help but want to smash everything in this room.

I remember very clearly that this house was renovated after Michael Smith proposed to me.

Three years ago, it was when house prices were rising rapidly.

A project I was working on happened to give me a lot of bonuses, so I added my savings and bought this house in full.

At that time, because it was a pre-sale house, I had been living in the old house left to me by my parents after they passed away.

Michael Smith appeared at this time. He was an employee from the project partner's side. I ran to their company frequently during that time, and after getting to know them, he started pursuing me, saying that he fell in love with me at first sight.

I was 27 years old at that time. I was not young anymore. In an era when the concept of older single women was becoming increasingly clamorous, as a woman, I would have anxiety in this regard.

In addition, Michael Smith pursued me diligently and treated me with meticulous care, so I agreed to his pursuit.

In those two years, Michael Smith performed really honestly and simply.

He would blush, couldn't let go, and sometimes even revealed a kind of youthfulness and clumsiness of never having been in love.

So much so that I always thought he was a rare species in this open society.

Holding a sincere heart, I offer it to you with both hands.

Later, I had a car accident.

I thought, with the coldness of human nature, Michael Smith would abandon me, but he didn't. He solemnly proposed to me on the day I woke up.

He said that he loved me as a person, not my eyes.

No matter what I became, in sickness and in health, he would always be with me forever.

At that time, I really thought I was the luckiest person in the world.

Even in addition to being moved, I also took the initiative to add his name to the house and had it notarized. But now, all of this in front of me slapped me in the face.

What kind of terrible person could start decorating our wedding house according to his cousin's preferences, silently, after proposing to me?

And deceiving me that everything was decorated according to my requirements?
