Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Transportation Problem

After discovering that these humans indeed had no malicious intent towards them, many of the Pokémon that had been hiding came out.

The weather hadn't warmed up yet, and there wasn't much food in the forest. They couldn't resist the temptation of the Pokémon food and took the initiative to approach, accepting the players' feeding.

"Lord Baron, what's the name of this Pokémon? Why does it have grass growing on its head?"

"It's called Oddish. It's born with grass on its head."

"Then what about this one?"

"That's a Weedle, and the one next to it is a Caterpie."

"And what about mine?"

"Yours is a..."

Ryan introduced the Pokémon to the players one by one. Fortunately, his memories from his previous life were still vivid, coupled with the monster knowledge the original body had learned from a young age, he recognized all these Pokémon.

"Should we make a Pokémon encyclopedia or something? But there are no cameras in this era to take pictures. Are we going to have to draw each one individually?"

"And the information I know isn't much either. It's probably going to be difficult."

"Wait, why do I have to do it myself? Why not let these players investigate and create it? It can even be a long-term task."

Ryan felt that his thinking hadn't completely changed yet. He wanted to do everything himself, somewhat neglecting the role of the players.

This wasn't good. It not only reduced the players' sense of participation but also added unnecessary pressure to himself.

"The encyclopedia can wait. The top priority now is to obtain wood."

Thinking of this, Ryan began to call the players to continue logging.

The Pokémon that had finished eating didn't run away but stayed in place, curiously watching the players.

After they understood that the players were cutting down trees, not only did they not stop them, but some Pokémon even tried to help.

Seeing this, Ryan couldn't help but feel emotional. These Pokémon, to put it nicely, were pure and kind-hearted; to put it bluntly, they were silly. They were only fed some food and already harbored goodwill towards humans.

They had to know that logging was destroying their homes, yet not only did they not mind, but they even wanted to help.

No wonder they had such powerful abilities but were still completely bullied by humans.

The players also noticed this and developed even more affection for the Pokémon in their hearts.

"Speaking of which, do we really have to cut down these trees? Isn't this like destroying their homes?"

Xu Ruofeng felt a bit reluctant, and the movements of his hands slowed down.

"There's no other way. You've seen the damaged houses in the town. Many people are homeless. We can't just let them sleep on the streets. Besides, this is a special situation. We usually don't cut down this much wood."

"But we'll have to build houses in the future too. We can't just keep logging off in the castle, right?"

"Building houses doesn't necessarily mean using wood. We can try making bricks. Brick houses are much stronger than wooden houses. I just don't know if this game has that much freedom."

Chen Yan stretched his shoulders and wiped the sweat from his forehead. He had only been working for an hour or two, but his back was already aching. It seemed his game character's physical fitness wasn't very high.

In fact, it wasn't just him; the physical fitness of the other players wasn't very high either.

When Ryan created bodies for the players, he didn't give them very high initial attributes. The reason was simple: he didn't have that many Creation Points.

The higher the player's attributes, the more Creation Points it cost to construct the body.

As mentioned earlier, due to the damage to the territory, Ryan didn't receive many Creation Points each day, and he had to reserve some in case of emergencies. He could only reduce some of the players' attributes.

This led to the players looking a bit weak, but this was only temporary. Their attributes could be improved later.

Moreover, this world mostly relied on Pokémon battles, and players didn't need very high physical attributes.

"Damn it, I can't push it at all! Load less, load less. Do you really think I'm a beast of burden?"

Xu Ruofeng gritted his teeth, using all his strength, but the cart still wouldn't budge. He had to have Chen Yan unload some of the wood. "This won't work. We can only transport so little at a time. How many trips will this take? The territory is quite far from here."

Ryan also realized the problem. Cutting down trees was quite simple, but transportation was a big hassle.

The surrounding Pokémon, seeing this, all came forward to help push the cart, but they were all small Pokémon with not much strength, so they couldn't help much at all.

Looking at these Pokémon trying hard to help push the cart, Ryan suddenly thought of something.

"Scyther, Bounsweet, I need your help with something." He took out a can of Honey and gave them a few instructions.

The two Pokémon nodded after listening and then flew deep into the forest.

"Alright, everyone take a break for a while. I'll solve the transportation problem."

"Long live Lord Baron!"

"I'm exhausted. I feel like my body is about to fall apart."

"This game is indeed realistic. I'm not only tired, but my mouth is also dry."

After hearing Ryan's words, the players all collapsed on the ground, panting heavily.

"There are water pouches on the carts, and I also brought some Oran Berries. Everyone can eat some to replenish their energy."

Ryan took out the berries he had prepared in advance. The players didn't stand on ceremony and took them, biting into them heartily.

"Wow, these berries are so delicious! They're so juicy."

Jingle took a bite of an Oran Berry, and her eyes immediately lit up. She took a few more bites.

"Aren't you curious about this taste system? It's exactly the same as in reality!"

"What's so curious about that? They've already given you the sense of smell and touch. Could they possibly skimp on taste? Besides, I plucked a few blades of grass and tasted them when I was in the territory. I've known about the sense of taste for a long time."

Looking at Xu Ruofeng's smug expression, Chen Yan shook his head helplessly.

"Actually, taste is alright. The key is that there's also a feeling of fullness after eating. Being able to simulate this feeling, this game is really amazing. I wonder if it can get even more realistic, like whether you can pee and poop."

"You can. I tried it in the territory before. Peeing is possible. I haven't had time to try the other, but it should be possible too."

"You've even tried that?! I have to admit, you're really something!"

Chen Yan was somewhat impressed by Xu Ruofeng. He hadn't seen him be so uninhibited in reality. He had completely let loose in this game.

"How do you think Lord Baron will solve the transportation problem? Will he call the people from the territory to help?"

"Forget it. If they could come, they would have come long ago. Didn't you hear Uncle White say that those people are very afraid of Pokémon? I don't know what they're afraid of. These Pokémon are so cute."

Jingle touched the Spinarak lying on her shoulder, her face filled with unconcealed affection.

Xu Ruofeng's eyes twitched slightly. He always felt that this girl's aesthetic sense was a bit peculiar. Before he could even complain, he saw several figures flying from the depths of the forest.

"Scyther and Bounsweet are back. What Pokémon are those behind them?"

"Isn't that a Heracross? I saw it in the opening animation!"

"So cool! Does Lord Baron want them to help us transport the wood?"

Behind Scyther were three Pokémon with deep blue carapaces and a thick, large horn on their heads.

"I didn't expect to actually find Heracross!" Ryan was very excited.

Heracross was a Pokémon that prided itself on its brute strength, said to be able to lift things one hundred times its own weight.

The transportation problem could be easily solved now!
