Chapter 27 - Notice of Job Transfer

Wu Shaochen browsed the forum for a while but found nothing that piqued his interest. He exited the forum interface and resumed hunting monsters. After a short while, an all-server announcement echoed across the screen.

"All-server Announcement: Congratulations to player Junlin for successfully changing class to Archer. As the first player to transition to the Archer class, the system rewards 500 reputation, 20 gold coins, and a skill book for the class. This is an official announcement!"

"Eh, someone has changed class? Didn't they say the Silver Wolf King was unbeatable? Could it be from my novice village?" Wu Shaochen wondered silently as he heard the announcement. It seemed this was the first time someone other than himself had made the headlines. Finally, someone else was taking the heat off him.

But only a little over ten minutes later, another prompt appeared.

"All-server Announcement: Congratulations to player Xue'er for successfully changing class to Mage. As the first player to transition to the Mage class, the system rewards 500 reputation, 20 gold coins, and a skill book for the class. This is an official announcement!"

"This girl is impressive!" Wu Shaochen remarked in surprise. The teleportation array in the novice village had been repaired, but even now, there were very few players who had reached level 10 across the entire server. For her to be the first Mage, it clearly showcased her strength.

Before long, another announcement echoed.

"All-server Announcement: Congratulations to player Jiao Wo Huang Shao for successfully changing class to Warrior. As the first player to transition to the Warrior class, the system rewards 500 reputation, 20 gold coins, and a skill book for the class. This is an official announcement!"

Hearing a continuous stream of announcements, Wu Shaochen rubbed his nose and murmured, "Maybe I should charge them a fee for the teleportation."

Meanwhile, the other players in the novice village were seething with envy.

"Ah!! Why wasn't I born in the same novice village as Dust Seal God?!"

"This is so demoralizing! We fought tooth and nail to defeat the Silver Wolf King, and they just swoop in and reap the rewards."

"Ugh, people are so unfair!"

At this moment, the Aoshi Dominion Guild, following Wu Shaochen's guidance, spent a small fortune on potions and was now nervously fighting the Silver Wolf King. With potions that increased their health by 30% and instant-heal potions, the battle became more stable, though it consumed a lot of resources. They had nearly bought up all the currency available in the novice village, driving the price of copper coins up to two silver each.

Behind the primary team fighting the Silver Wolf King, there were still at least a thousand players, stationed to deal with the Silver Wolves summoned by the King, ensuring they did not interfere with the main battle.

After more than an hour of battle, the massive figure of the Silver Wolf King finally collapsed, and everyone sighed in relief.

After quickly collecting the loot, Aoshi Tianxia hurried back to the village, instructing, "Jueqing, Gufeng, you two leveled up too, right? Hurry up and catch up. The rewards for Shield Guard and Priest class first transition are still up for grabs. Go get them!"

Upon returning to the novice village, they found the village chief anxiously repairing the magic array. Just then, another all-server announcement sounded.

"All-server Announcement: Congratulations to player Menghuan Qingwu for successfully changing class to Priest. As the first player to transition to the Priest class, the system rewards 500 reputation, 20 gold coins, and a skill book for the class. This is an official announcement!"

"Menghuan Qingwu isn't from the 8365 novice village, is she?" Aoshi Jueqing wondered aloud.

"Seems like the Dream Guild beat us to defeating the Silver Wolf King," Aoshi Tianxia frowned.

The Dream Guild was a legendary all-female guild in the online gaming world. Despite only recruiting female players, it had managed to break into the top ten guilds in the game.

"I can't believe the first Mage, Menghuan Qingwu, changed class to Priest. I wonder if it's for the first-class reward or if her talents are more suited to the Priest class," Aoshi Gufeng sighed.

At this point, the village chief had finished repairing the teleportation array, and the three of them quickly entered, choosing Jinling City as their destination.

Soon, another system prompt echoed.

"All-server Announcement: Congratulations to player Aoshi Gufeng for successfully changing class to Shield Guard. As the first player to transition to the Shield Guard class, the system rewards 500 reputation, 20 gold coins, and a skill book for the class. This is an official announcement!"

With that, the first players of all six main classes had appeared, and to everyone's surprise, four of those players hailed from the 8365 novice village. Except for Junlin, the rest were relatively unknown figures. This truly highlighted the power of having a strong support system.

"Ding! Congratulations, you have leveled up! Health +40, Mana +20, Agility +2, and you have earned 10 attribute points. Please distribute them wisely."

While everyone else was tirelessly hunting for experience, Wu Shaochen sighed when he heard the level-up prompt. The experience from a level 16 monster was indeed high for an 11th-level player, and with the bonus for fighting higher-level monsters, even though his pet took 20% of the experience, each monster still granted him 216 experience points. After killing 129 goblins, he leveled up.

"Sigh, after leveling up, I'll have to find a new spot to grind," Wu Shaochen muttered. He decided to hold off on using the 10 attribute points for now and would distribute them later when he figured out what he needed.

Having killed 129 goblins, the poison damage had reached 152 per second, enough to drain over 9,000 health points in one minute, which was terrifying.

The Immortal Body had also increased his health by 129 points, pushing his total health to over 2,000—specifically, 2,079 points. His Agility had reached 120, and his experience was 86/40,000.

The 129 goblins had dropped 8 pieces of equipment, showing a noticeable increase in drop rate compared to his novice village days. He wondered if higher-level monsters dropped better loot or if luck played a role. Perhaps it was a bit of both. After all, in the novice village, it would take 30-40 monsters to get one item; now, it was closer to every 15-16 monsters.

What stunned Wu Shaochen the most was that one of the items was actually black iron-grade.

[Wolf Fang Club]

Quality: Black Iron

Physical Attack +60

Ignore Defense +4%

Additional Attributes:

Strength +15

Required Class: Warrior

This was an excellent item, and there was no level requirement, only a class requirement. He wondered if other equipment was similar. It seemed that higher-level monsters had a chance to drop black iron equipment. If he wasn't mistaken, even higher-level ordinary monsters might drop bronze or even better equipment, though the drop rate would be lower. Otherwise, where would so many bosses come from?

This item would certainly fetch a good price, and Wu Shaochen decided to hold onto it for now, waiting for more players to arrive in the main city before putting it up for auction.

The remaining 7 pieces were white-grade items for level 16, which he couldn't use and couldn't sell. He'd probably have to sell them to the game store. If this continued, he suspected that only white-grade items would have level requirements, while attribute-enhancing gear would only have class requirements. If that were the case, he wouldn't bother picking up white items anymore.

Even more pleasantly surprising was his pet, Silver Taiwolf. It required far less experience to level up than players, and even with only 20% of the experience, the 100-plus goblins were enough to raise Silver Taiwolf to level 8, greatly boosting its attributes.

[Silver Taiwolf]Pet

Quality: A

Level: 8

Health: 8,200

Mana: 900

Physical Attack: 260

Physical Defense: 186

Magical Defense: 93

Speed: 40

While these stats were good, it was still unable to participate in combat due to Wu Shaochen's high level. In a fair fight, Silver Taiwolf would still be a powerhouse. For now, it would simply follow along to gain experience.

Just as Wu Shaochen was preparing to venture further, his phone rang. Reluctantly, he logged off to take the call. If only he had a gaming capsule, he could connect the phone directly without the hassle.

He removed his game helmet and grabbed his phone, seeing the caller ID. A rare smile tugged at his lips as he answered. It had been some time since she last called.

"Brother..." came a hesitant voice on the other end of the line.

"What's wrong, Ziyin?" Wu Shaochen asked.

"Brother... can you transfer me some money? I know you don't have much, but I..." she trailed off.

"Okay, I'll transfer it right away." Wu Shaochen could tell she was nervous and responded promptly without asking for details.

After their parents' passing, his sister was his only remaining family. Though he hadn't made much money, he'd always sent her a modest allowance. She knew he wasn't wealthy, so she lived frugally and often took on part-time jobs. This was the first time she had asked him for money.

Ending the call, Wu Shaochen transferred 20,000 yuan into her account. He had initially considered sending more but didn't want her to think too much into it.
