Chapter 26 - Silver Great Wolf

Three minutes later, the three goblins fell to the ground simultaneously.

"Ding! Killed [Goblin] *3, gained 540 experience. For killing enemies five levels above you, you have received an additional 270 experience."

"Ding! Talent feature triggered, toxin damage increased by 3 points. Current toxin damage: 26."

"Ding! Immortal Body activated, maximum health increased by 3 points. Immortal Body has enhanced your maximum health by 3 points."

As each notification chimed, Wu Shaochen felt a surge of satisfaction.

Both his talent and Immortal Body had grown simultaneously, meaning the more he killed, the stronger he became. However, the experience gain for defeating higher-level monsters was quite high—270 experience per monster. With that rate, he could level up after only about a hundred kills, which was incredibly fast.

"Right, I almost forgot," Wu Shaochen suddenly remembered the pet egg in his inventory. Pets took a share of the player's experience.

Since he didn't need the pet to fight, it could just siphon off a little experience to prevent him from leveling up too quickly.

Without hesitation, he took the Silver Wolf King pet egg from his inventory and began the hatching process as instructed by the system.

A flash of light appeared, and the pet egg vanished, leaving behind a small wolf cub, no bigger than a puppy, at Wu Shaochen's feet. The little creature nuzzled against his pant leg, showing immediate affection. Pets hatched by players automatically recognize them as their masters.

"Ding! Hatching successful. You have acquired the Silver Wolf King's cub. Aptitude: A. Please give it a name."

Looking at the little creature with its silver fur, Wu Shaochen thought for a moment and named it, "Silver Great Wolf."

"Ding! Name set successfully."

Wu Shaochen then checked the cub's attributes.

[Silver Great Wolf] Pet

Aptitude: A

Level: 0

Health: 200

Mana: 100

Physical Attack: 20

Physical Defense: 10

Magical Defense: 5

Speed: 10

Skill 1: Swift: Increases movement speed and attack speed by 50% for 30 seconds. Mana cost: 50. Cooldown: 2 minutes.

Hmm, this pet was stronger than a rabbit, no wonder wolves could hunt rabbits. Besides its inherent skills, pets could learn a new skill every 20 levels.

Wu Shaochen continued to fight goblins with his little wolf cub. Seeing the cub eager to join in, he quickly ordered, "Stay back and just soak up the experience. With those little legs of yours, you wouldn't last a single hit."

As expected, the Silver Great Wolf obediently stayed at the back.

"Quite obedient," Wu Shaochen noted as he continued to grind. With the Silver Great Wolf siphoning off 20% of the experience, he could focus more on boosting his talent and Immortal Body.

Meanwhile, Pride of the World, who had finally reached level 10, rushed to the village chief to teleport to the main city, only to be told he needed to repair the teleportation array by killing the Silver Wolf King. His excitement quickly turned to dismay.

At the same time, many powerful players from other novice villages who had been grinding day and night to reach level 10 faced the same dilemma.

They gathered their forces to hunt the Silver Wolf King, only to experience a group wipe. The forum erupted with activity.

A thread titled "The Terrifying Silver Wolf King, the Obstacle of the Novice Village" was immediately pinned to the top.

The content of the post roughly stated: "To leave the novice village, one must defeat the Silver Wolf King, but his strength is overwhelming—200,000 health, 550 attack, large-scale area damage that ignores defenses, and even summons minions. Countless players have suffered, but there's no other choice. Then @Chen Feng, please share your strategy."

The comments section exploded with @Chen Feng requests, quickly amassing over a million tags.

At the same time, the regional channel for the 8365 novice village was also buzzing.

"Damn, so the teleportation array repair requires killing the Silver Wolf King? That's insane!"

"Yeah, I saw the Silver Wolf King's stats online, and I'm pretty sure I'd get wiped before even getting close."

"How did Chen Feng defeat such a terrifying monster?"

"Exactly! But I'm also kind of happy—once we reach level 10, we'll be able to teleport straight to the main city. What an advantage!"

"Thanks to the great Chen Feng! You're awesome!"

"Thanks to the great Chen Feng! You're awesome!"

"Junlin, how much more until you level up?" Nanfeng asked, directing his question to Junlin, who led their group. For now, they hadn't formed a team but had left all the kills for Junlin, ensuring he would get the first class change reward.

"Almost there, 90%. Half an hour at most," Junlin replied.

"Ha, we really owe Chen Feng. Without him, we'd be splitting that first spot," Xiao Bei laughed.

"Yeah, I didn't expect so many players to hit level 10 already. We should definitely thank him," Junlin said seriously.

Just then, Wu Shaochen received a private message from Su Muxue.

Xue'er: "Aren't you checking the forum?"

"I occasionally browse it when I'm offline to eat," Wu Shaochen replied.

Xue'er: "Offline for meals? But doesn't the nutrient solution keep you nourished for seven days?"

"? I can't afford it," Wu Shaochen replied decisively.

Xue'er: "Don't tell me you're playing with a game helmet."

"Yes, what's the problem?" Wu Shaochen responded.

Xue'er: "So you haven't slept since last night?"

"I slept last night. How could I not sleep?" Wu Shaochen replied.

At this moment, Su Muxue, still hunting Silver Wolves in the novice village, stared incredulously at the chat messages. He… was playing with a game helmet and had even logged off to sleep, yet still managed to stay ahead of everyone. How did he manage that?

Chen Feng: "Hey, beautiful, is there something you need?"

Su Muxue snapped back to attention and replied, "Nothing, just a lot of people are looking for you on the forum. You might want to check it out."

Chen Feng: "I don't want to log off right now."

"…You can access the forum directly in the game, who said you need to log off?" Su Muxue rolled her eyes.

Chen Feng: "Oh, I see. I'll take a look."

"By the way, which main city are you in?" Su Muxue asked.

Chen Feng: "Why? You already added me as a friend. Don't tell me you have other plans for me?"

Su Muxue's face turned red with anger, and she closed the chat window before grabbing her weapon and charging at the Silver Wolf.

Standing nearby, Uncle Liu observed his young lady with a perplexed expression. It was the first time he had seen her react like this, but he didn't comment, just watching silently.

After a while, Su Muxue received another private message from Chen Feng: "Jinling City." Upon reading it, the corner of her mouth lifted into a slight smile. Looking at her experience bar at 85%, she knew she had to keep pushing.

After replying to Su Muxue, Wu Shaochen, indeed, discovered the forum interface within the game. Upon entering, he saw his ID: Chen Feng—seemingly directly bound to his game ID.

He quickly noticed countless @mentions directed at him. While browsing the forum on his phone earlier, he had been a guest, unable to receive these tags. Now, entering with his game ID, the flood of @mentions was overwhelming, and he realized it was best not to open them.

Looking at the thread, he saw that many players were unable to leave the novice village. Wu Shaochen wasn't particularly interested in engaging, but after some thought, he decided to reply in the comments: "Go complain to the village chief!"

It wasn't a secret, so he figured he might as well be helpful and prevent these players from accusing him of cheating or demanding the officials investigate him. As for the outcome, it would depend on their financial capabilities. After all, the forum had various potions for healing, enhancing attack, health, and speed—things that could greatly aid them in their fight against the Silver Wolf King. They were just a bit expensive, Wu Shaochen thought with a wicked grin.

His reply caused an uproar.

"Damn, the great one replied!"

"Is that really the ID? I thought this person was a myth."

"Chen Feng himself! Finally, we see a reply from the man himself."

"What does he mean by that?"

"The great one is sharing his strategy with us. If you've accepted the quest, hurry up and try it out."
